I’m so happy you are re reviewing the les exclusifs it is always so interesting to see how you feel about them now and find the different nuances. Can’t wait for the infamous beige review as well.
So excited to see this review. A million percent yes; no perfume ever floored me as much upon first smell as this. My batch is also in the 7000's, the leather accord is a strange one, there are days when I find it really prominent and others when it seems so subtle. Also I always sense daffodils amongst the grass? My memory of the original 2016 edp was that the base became shockingly musk heavy.
Bel Respiro was one of my favorites on the initial launch. It was a floral green that I layered with my N°19 (EDT and Perfume) and sometimes Cristalle Eau Vert. Sometimes I’ll spray one Eau de toilette all over, then add my second fragrance to arms and neck pulse points. It’s kinda fun to scent different parts of the body to have variation in the sillage. (Using up more concentrated fragrances around the ankles and knees works well too. Less ‘in your face’ about them.). Loving your reviews. Thanks!
I have batch #3401 witch I think was bought about the year the EDT was launched. My father bought N19 for my mom back in the 1970's as an upgrade from Estee Lauder's Aliage. She decided to stick with Estee. So he decided to use it himselfb he also used YSL pour homme (now a shadow of itself). This explains why I was so subliminally attracted to Bel Rispero. Once you pointed out all the traits, it all snapped into focus! Dacob, you really have all-encompassing knowledge of fragrances. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you for your wonderful review! I am curious about this one! my search continues on finding the right Les exclusives that will draw a special emotion from me! I only owned the Cologne so far! Dacob Your words are an inspiration to keep trying to find the one for me!! ❤️
I just came back from a horrendous 5-day-trip across Europe, due to weather, thunderstorms, irregs. And what do I get coming home? This beautiful video! Thank you so, so much, dear Dacob! ❤️💗🌸
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 Europe, especially southern Europe is so hot these days. I'm a flight attendant, so I'm used to irregularities, but this time ... 🤪 But on the first day a passenger said: "Your perfume is soo good", after I bathed myself in Comète ... 😅🥰🍒🌠🌸 Then I smelled a few other scents I actually just discovered, on others. It's always, when they spray themselves through the duty free shops at the airports. One was Baccarat Rouge 540 or one of its dupes. 😆 Oh, not for me ... 👻
Well this video is just in time because I have a sample 4ml of Bel Respiro and I love it ❤ and I want to buy it and I was looking for videos this week and they are rare for this perfume … I saw one you made a long time ago but this is even better!🥰😍❤️🙌🏻
Most of the galbanum in perfumery still comes from Iran, even when not advertised so for political reasons. It is a material that is difficult to replace with synthetics. We do have galbanum pyrazine but the effect is very clearly distinguishable from using the actual natural. We also have two forms, the oil and resinoid, with the former being more clearly leafy green and the latter being muskier, woodier though still green and spicy. I can assure you by nose there's a touch of the natural still, in fact, including in No. 19.
I smell the natural too in current No19 concentrations but the 70’s bottles of No19 that I own are on a totally different level of purity, density and intensity. Still love the current versions as well though but for other reasons.
@essence-tiallydacob9611 would you say the leather is also more obvious in the vintage? For me I get zero in the current version and I have EDT, EDP, extrait.
At the risk of breaking the “Les Exclusifs Misunderstood Perfume Trifecta”, I humbly propose that 31 rue Cambon would fit in with that hallowed group. Another gorgeous, but I believe not very popular (by sales) beauty (and one of my 5 fave Les Exclusifs. Great review of Bel Respiro! I had & adored the EDT years ago. Maybe the EDP will find its way to me. Happy Friday Dacob!
Yes, 31rC is a majestic beauty. Is it as misunderstood as the aforementioned trifecta though? Not sure. We would need to see chanel sales numbers to better assess the situation.
I thank you for the beautiful illustrative journey you take us on in your reviews. Few Chanel perfumes work on my skin but I have been revisiting as taste and body chemistry changes. I just layered Comete over Shalimar Iris. Would love to hear if you try this what you think
Thank you dear! 💖 Comete 💫 layers beautifully with many Chanel perfumes and I can see how it would layer well with Shalimar millesine iris as well. They both have iris in them after all.
Hi Dacob how are you? I enjoy Bel respiro but right now, I'm a bit on a budget so...😅 I'm a lot into Iris, white flowers airy things...And I've just discovered Gabrielle L'eau which is absolutely beautiful ... I'm also about to end my 20th bottle of 19 poudré, and I don't know if I'd rather renew it, or, give Cristalle EDP a try for august, I'm actually watching your dedicated video right now , so🤪😅😊 Have a great weekend 💚💚💚💚
Thank you dear. 💖 The current Cristalle edp is awesome in my opinion, albeit lighter than its predecessor… I love it. Only problem is that its not available all over the world but if you are in Europe, you will easily find it. 💚
Dear Dacob, Have you tried layering Bel Respiro with no. 5 EDP? Pure magic 😮✨✨✨✨✨I've recently discovered it and I was shocked how good they smelled together. Xoxo, Warm regards Anna 🤗🤗💖
I always say that each chanel perfume has a dna base of No5 and each chanel perfume layers beautifully with basically any No5 concentration and/or flanker. 💖💫
Being a life-time lover of Chanel No.19 ( and sadly missing the 1980's real oakmoss formulation so,so much ) a few months ago I decided to give this a try due to a Chanel advisor telling me there were reflections of the grassy No.19 in this. I really liked the fragrance, however within 5 minutes I could no longer smell anything on my skin. I tried again throughout the day at various times but no - there was nothing. So upset, as for the price I did expect a certain amount of longevity on my skin. I contacted the store I purchased from and they allowed me to return for a refund. I don't know if it was the particular batch but I will not give up with this and may try again at some point !
Chanel perfumes and especially les exclusifs need to macerate for some time and need oxygen to ripen in my opinion so my bottles of the les exclusifs fragrances all start smelling deeper and longevity gets better with time. Having said that, I do not expect big longevity from all expensive perfumes. Some are just made to last a short while and with some it fits nicely. Bel Respiro has a great lasting power on me but I also binge on it. I do not spray sparingly 😅
I have not smelled it yet. I am in no rush as I am still getting to know Comete better and still enjoying my pebble bottle of No L’Eau. Chanel in my opinion needs to slow down with their releases. Its like several new beauty product releases every month. I don’t like the speed with which they are pacing. It feels like paying rent to Chanel each month. Not a cool feeling in my opinion and also, not nice of the brand to release a new perfume and then just kinda forget about it a month later when they release yet another one. Diminishes the pleasure of savoring a beautiful creation in my opinion. 💖💖💖 I will of course get my nose on Gabrielle L’Eau but not immediately. It will be on my time and not on Chanel’s schedule.

Hahaha, the eye roll @min 5.20 or so. Love it!
Love Bel Respiro, too. (batch 8, EdP)
It´s spring, small flowers, petrichor to me. 💗🌸
I bought No.18, Bel Respiro and La Pausa together. After I got No.18 back, they again stay next to each other … 💗💗💗
The three of them are great together 🥰🥰🥰
I enjoyed this. I know nothing about this fragrance. I do know that I love the scent of freshly cut grass. ❤
Thank you Robbie 🥰💖🌅
