This was awesome to watch!! I live in Oregon and will be going to portland this next weekend to capture some street photography. One question I do have is, do you shoot in aperture priority or In manual?
There's not a significant difference between the shadows and highlights for bracketing to be necessary. I have enough dynamic range in the single image to where if I need to go further in my edit of this it would be possible to obtain what I need from the one image.
Awesome video, thanks man. Seeing the image on your LCD flip with orientation instantly makes me so jealous! Time to upgrade the original A7 I suppose!
The original 7 isn't instant to change? It's been many years since I've owned that camera and don't remember. It's only noticeable when you see or use newer cameras. I only upgraded my 7 years ago because I was sort of forced to do so when I became a Sony Ambassador in 2017 lol. I finally went to the 7 II for a short while and then went to the Alpha 9 for 5 years. Only reason I retired it is because the Alpha 9 can reduce the MP count to 21MP and then if I want to photograph like the R series I can go back to 50MP. I have no desire of changing the Alpha 1 for many years. I'm sure to have it longer than the Alpha 9.
@@professorhineschoice I think the resolution holds it back more than anything, but I always struggle to use the screen and default to the EVF for most shots. I'm considering getting a used A9, I understand it's great for wildlife photography and they're available for a good price here in the UK, either that or the A7IV... Keep up the good work man!
If you can find a good price I certainly will recommend the 9, but it will make you never want a 7 series camera ever again, because the controls are vastly different (hence why I've had just the 9 or 1 cameras for the past 2+ years now). 7 IV will be a great upgrade and is like Gold level, where 9 is like Platinum status level.
Trying to get that shot on the road wasn't stupid at all. That's Creativity at it's Best. Thinking outside the box in the Field of Photography. I tell ya though if u would've gotten that shot of the bridge traffic lights, that would of been Epic. 💯
Further down the bridge? I would need a longer reach lens probably. If I go back I may have the 70-200 GM II then. 😎 Going to try playing with a new lens soon and see what I can do with it.
@@professorhineschoice Nah once u gotten closer to the bridge. But don't get me wrong a long range would've been dope too. Oh yeah most Definitely. Oh okay cool that's wassup. 💯
I stayed in Santa Fe. Only captured 1 good sunset there but saw a couple others that were decent. Middle of August but had snow a couple days lol and nothing much outside of that.
😭 I can’t imagine it being worst than what it was when I was here in this video. Such a beautiful city that has drastically been neglected. 😔 Same for San Francisco.
one thing I haven't grasped my head around. how do you have the peak design capture and the L-bracket? haven't thought of doing that but is there a special screw required? or a specific L-bracket?
hi there prof! i just started out and wasted ALOT of money on lenses the store threw at me but still i didn't find a good one.. what Prime lens would you think is best for street photography? also some portrait during day/night. i was thinking about a 50mm 2.8? or even a 1.4
@@professorhineschoice hey prof… are you still using the batis lenses on the A1? Presumed like many that used to rave about them they mostly now shoot GM lenses, but since Zeiss ambassador presume you do. I’ve just picked up the 25,40 and 85 for a decent price after ditching all my Big and heavy GM glass and they are great lenses, probably zeiss should put out a firmware to update them now the AF systems on the Sonys has moved on tech wise since the lenses came out. They are paired with an A9ll at present. 😊
@@karlbratby4349 Yes I still use the Batis lenses, but the Loxia's are used more than my Batis ones however. Yes, I have been requesting a firmware update for the Batis lenses as well, as there is a difference in focusing from my Alpha 9 with Batis vs the Alpha 1 with them. Not always as accurate on this camera for focusing I'm afraid, but optically still good.
You’re helping a lot of people professor. Thank you very much for that.
Very kind, thank you so much! 🥹
Your words around 18 minutes really touched me, thank you!

I met you last time you were out here. I suggest next time going north of where you were between the Burnside and Steel Bridge.
Wow, had no idea you were still following! Long time! I’ll have to try that next time.
The best vlogs! 😍
🥰🥰
I appreciate these videos! Question why not brackwt at 10:00

Need to come to New Mexico for our sunsets
I was there for several weeks in 2020 😊
@@professorhineschoice what part? And what you think?

No. The screw for the PD clip is the same screw as many if not all L-Brackets are included with. It screws in like the bottom of any camera does.
what time of the year was this? month?
This was late Spring, 8, Jun, 2022.

Do you ever crop your photos?
Very seldom. I don’t like reducing pixel size.
peace!
Are you still in Portland? Would love to shoot together, though today is gonna be quite toasty.
No, this video was recorded in June.
Wow Portland looked decent a year ago
Portland Oregon is a trash can
😫 It’s sad it’s become that way! Used to be a nice city but gosh how it’s gone down!
