I was going to say the same thing! Especially since she used Led Zeppelin as a comparison. It's likely one of the best rock and roll moments of all time.
This band came out when I was in high school... There was plenty of rock but there were no other bands at the time that feature woman and there music really stands out!
I love how Tasha has grown in her knowledge and feel for RnR music over the course of her journey in this genre .. great to see folks of your age appreciate how great these 70/80’s bands were
❤️ 1) Even It Up (1980) 2) Heartless (1978) 3) Straight On (1978) 4) Rockin Heaven (1980) 5) Devil Delight (1978) 6) Little Queen (1977) 7) Sing Child (1976) 8) White Lightning And Wine (1976) 9) Magic Man (1976) 10) Cook With Fire (1978) 11) Kick It Out (1977) …….all bangers ❤️♥️❤️
I'm having flashbacks. I had that exact haircut. LOL Love Navy & Ann Wilson. Still kicking ass. If you did not see their Kennedy center tribute to Led Zepplin, when they performed 'Stairway to heaven', you must watch it. They are Spectacular in their 60's.
LOVE Heart! I am glad that people are still appreciating their music. Pat Benatar, Blondie, and Heart are all spectacular. Nancy Wilson's voice is amazing to this day.
"Straight On" live at the Backstage in Ballard (Seattle) 1994. I was at that show. One of many fine evenings at that beloved venue. "Crazy On You" from that show was 🔥🔥🔥
Hi Tasha and T. First, regarding “Power Ballad” that was created by the Carpenters and the song Goodbye To Love. Tony Peluso on fuzz guitar guided by Richard Carpenter and there you go. Now for Crazy on You, you need the video! You need to see Nancy rocking the Ovation guitar. The best video is the live from Japan in a windstorm. (I’m writing as I’m watching, glad you did a video, but.)The thumbnail is Nancy in a gold color, hair blowing in the wind. It’s maybe the best version for her performance on top of Ann’s crazy vocal. There’s an artist that I’ve tried to show Tasha on her channel and I’ll give you a short video example and the actual recommendation for a reaction that will drive you CRAZY. First the short, this singer covered Crazy On You; playing 4 band members from Heart. Including Nancy on an Ovation guitar. I’m using a video that used the video taken from “I” because it’s longer. I can’t safely link cross-platform. Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/w8prfGSinRk/v-deo.htmlsi=EgKwjmtUj5R_i2TX I hope that gets you interested. Because Tori Holub isn’t really known for covering Heart. There is another. That leads us to the real request which I’ve done on Tasha’s channel. Some back info. In April Tori was one of 8 invited singers at The Carpenters 55th Anniversary Celebration. She performed two songs that night to great applause. She’s done well covering Carpenters songs. Her most recent was in collaboration with James Wilkas. It is We’ve Only Just Begun. This is what will make you wonder. Who is this girl? I hope you consider this and enjoy it. Joe ua-cam.com/video/J95lfJqo9VY/v-deo.htmlsi=0osb7h9qeLEiITZ- .
I just loved your reaction! ❤ Omg I loved and adored Heart ❤️ I was a teen and blasted them to and from school singing at the top of my lungs. They were seeing the guitarist & manager and I think that's why they were so magical. When they broke up & got new musicians, the sound definitely changed and Alone, Dreams etc were different. Check out Barracuda, Magic Man & Stairway to Heaven Live at Lincoln Center. Can't wait!! ❤❤
I love Heart! Personally, I like the older stuff better but whatever way you slice it, those vocals are ON POINT!!! Ann Wilson is my fav female rock vocalist. This is a great rabbit hole to go down!!! If you haven’t done Barracuda, that should be your next one :)
For an actual live version of Crazy On You, you should have watched Heart on The Midnight Special channel and you would have seen Nancy's full acoustic guitar intro. Live vocals, live instruments, no lip syncing. ua-cam.com/video/XKJbyK4NTek/v-deo.htmlsi=LbFV180Jiubk47_w
This was the Popular Radio Hit from this album. But if you play the whole album you will find some tunes that really kick. This Girl band rocked Harder than many others. "Sylvan Song, and Dream of the Archer" are a combo song you are guaranteed to hear at your concert. For a full blast effect, try "Sing-Child". Will blow your doors off.
Ann and the guitar player were a couple and they were hiding out in Vancouver trying to avoid the viet nam draft when they wrote this. It's about fear and pure passion. A lot of her vocals were very sensual. I have been in love with her voice for about 3 1/2 decades. Lita Ford was a great female guitar player too. If you haven't seen her power ballad duet with Ozzy you must. Do the video version, close my eyes forever. And by the way, T, you're ALWAYS late! 😂
It was Nancy the acoustic guitar player who was girlfriend with Roger Fisher and Ann the singer was girlfriend to Michael the brother of Roger who was not playing he was manager I think so two sisters with two brothers.
Wow I was 11 years old! ❤❤ agree best time for music. I love your comments. You have to ear Heart’s other songs. Their work is unbelievable and in a men’s world at that time very impressive! 😊
Thank you for taking me on a ride back to the Electric Rodeo concert in 1976. Starz, Nils Lofgren, Renaissnace, REO, Heart & Johnny & Edgar Winter. Beautiful day, beautiful concert.
Btw, this has always been my favorite heart song, then barracuda. I do still like 80's heart too, and yeah, check out an actual live version of this sometime. Ann sounds just as amazing live as she does studio. They have often been compared as a female led zeppelin, but I try not to compare bands because it's not that fair. They deserve to be respected in their own right.
Led Zeppelin has been a major influence on Heart. Ann wanted to sing with them, at one point. Check out Ann & Nancy and their cover of Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven when Led Zeppelin was honored by the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012. Phenomenal!
Dream boat Annie is a great album, anything from that , a track by track review would be great but if you need a one song vote I will say "white lightning and wine".
really great job guys. its great to get into the weeds. heart is one of the greatest all time. and back then, as females, nobody wanted them to succeed.
Tee! The recognition on your face once you realized the songs meaning gave me a laugh….classic, bro! And both y’all were feeling that groove….music like this hits everyone the same…you feel it!
They were one of the bands at my first concert; Cal Jam 2 - 1978. I was just 15yrs9mos, and my older brother got lost before Santana took the stage. So I was alone from then on and had to get a ride home to Berdoo when Aerosmith was done. Turned out my brother had an asthma attack and went to medical. They kept him but later sent him to the ER.
FYI: Bands always had to "fake it" over a studio recording for live TV. I recommend Crazy On You (Live, 1978) so you can watch Nancy's extended acoustic guitar intro. 70's Heart started off as a progressive rock band. Their first 5 albums were strong compilations from start to finish. 80'a Heart still had some great songs, but their style changed more into pop rock. It wasn't their idea, it was a corporate push to commercialize their image. Their 80's albums still had some notable songs, but just didn't pack the same punch as a full album compilation.
🇨🇦 Vancouver band (at the time). In the 5 months before Dreamboat Annie was released in the US, at least one song from it was playing 24/7 on Canadian radio stations.
A little trivia regarding tie Wilson”s that you may or may not know. Their father was the top ranking Marine General, the Commandant of the Marine Corps during the mid-seventies. Thanks for playing their music.
Great Reaction you both!! I see you're getting ready to do Magic Man! Great tune! Please react to these other Heart songs: Barracuda; Straight On; Bebe Le Strange; and City's Burnin'. They are all Bangers!! 🙂
I went to a pool party in 1976 and if you could swim the length of the pool through this whole song you won a bottle of vodka. I won and went home. Cool ass stuff back then.
the next one ,trust me! baracuda!. written after an exec from the record company, in an attempt to boost interest inthe band started a rumor that Ann & Nancy Wilson were in an incestuous lesbian relationship!
Funny you mention Led Zeppelin being a band to do a song lije this. If you haven't already done so, you need to see the Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zeppelin where Heart performed Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven, with the son of LZ's late drummer backing Heart on drums. It was phenomenal television. The LZ guys were clearly moved.
Not a power ballad, this is a banger.
And it is about banging too!
Nancy's guitar playing in the intro is just perfect. I also love the drums. And everyone knows Anne can sing.
Ann(the blonde) is on guitar. Nancy is singing.
@@markmccullum8638 Ann is the brunette singer. Nancy is the blonde guitarist. They are both very talented and skilled.
This and Barracuda are my favorites of theirs
During their 2013 induction into the Hall of Fame those are exactly the two songs they played…. Very good.🎉😂❤
Classic rocker chick voice! Magic Man is another great one by them
I'm 71 now and I saw them live twice. these years have gone by so fast. Hard to believe it has been so long ago.
Ann Wilson can wail!! During the 70's and early 80's when you went to see a concert you got your money's worth.
You need to see Heart at the Kennedy center honors. They preform Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven. It’s awesome!
Yeeeesssss!
Best cover song ever.
If you know stairway to heaven you will love their cover 100%
Heart also did a good cover of the song "Rock and Roll" by led Zeppelin
I was going to say the same thing! Especially since she used Led Zeppelin as a comparison. It's likely one of the best rock and roll moments of all time.
Thank you! I love Heart! You should react to 'Magic Man' from this album as well. 🙂
Magic man
Yes!!!!
Dog and Butterfly is a softer side of Heart that is great🎶🎶🎶
I LOVE that song 😭❤️
This band came out when I was in high school... There was plenty of rock but there were no other bands at the time that feature woman and there music really stands out!
Ann Wilson is a National Treasure ❤
They call it classic rock for a reason. I was in my teens listening to all the great bands in the 70s . I was blessed
I love how Tasha has grown in her knowledge and feel for RnR music over the course of her journey in this genre .. great to see folks of your age appreciate how great these 70/80’s bands were
Heart's live cover of Led Zep's Black Dog, is seriously excellent
❤️
1) Even It Up (1980)
2) Heartless (1978)
3) Straight On (1978)
4) Rockin Heaven (1980)
5) Devil Delight (1978)

8) White Lightning And Wine (1976)
9) Magic Man (1976)
10) Cook With Fire (1978)
11) Kick It Out (1977)
…….all bangers ❤️♥️❤️
Best women rock band of all time ❤
The live version of this in the late 70s is a must listen.
Yes! It’s Nancy Wilson on the acoustic guitar intro ❤️
I think she was only 19 at the time.
KILLIN' IT
Just saw them live last month. Still AMAZING
One of my favorites
LOVE Heart! I am glad that people are still appreciating their music. Pat Benatar, Blondie, and Heart are all spectacular. Nancy Wilson's voice is amazing to this day.
The Wilson sisters were Led Zep fans and their early shows included a lot of Led Zepplin covers.
My mom had this album and I grew up rocking out to Heart. Ann's voice is incredible.
That entire debut album is wonderful. I real nice mix of different styles, all just beautiful.
Loved it always Loved it Magic Man and If Looks could kill, Heartless and Straight on but there are so many Greats
Heart - a lot of music to explore and appreciate. Ann Wilson has the vocal chops and Nancy has the acoustic guitar chops. Keep the Heart coming!
Heart
Straight On
City's Burning
Kick It Out
Guys you have to checkout them doing Stairway to Heaven to honor Led Zepplin at the Kennedy Center it is awesome

.
Saw them in 1983 at Denver's Red Rocks...mad crush on Nancy ever since.
I just loved your reaction! ❤ Omg I loved and adored Heart ❤️ I was a teen and blasted them to and from school singing at the top of my lungs. Awesome group and a fantastic song!!

I LOVE watching yall feel that!
Heart doing Stairway to Heaven, wow!!❤❤

It will be interesting to see heart now that Anne is about 73 years old, and Nancy is 70.
They're on tour this summer so you can see them if you want to. Ann just had a #1 Active Rock single duetting with Disturbed so she still has chops.
I saw them a month ago. They're great! Ann is a force of nature.
❤ Thank you!
This was the Popular Radio Hit from this album. But if you play the whole album you will find some tunes that really kick. This Girl band rocked Harder than many others. Sing Child & Say Hello their 2 most under-rated. Went downhill starting with Bebe.
Ann and the guitar player were a couple and they were hiding out in Vancouver trying to avoid the viet nam draft when they wrote this. It's about fear and pure passion.
A lot of her vocals were very sensual. I have been in love with her voice for about 3 1/2 decades.

@talos2373 thank you for the correction. I believe I heard the story wrong a long time ago.
A deeper cut off the same album is White Lighting and Wine. One of my absolute favorites and amazing.
Female guitarist. Joan Jett,Samantha Fish,Susan Tedeschi.
Wow I was 11 years old! ❤❤ agree best time for music. I love your comments. You have to ear Heart’s other songs. Their work is unbelievable and in a men’s world at that time very impressive! 😊
Who Will You Run Too is a 80s Heart song that rocks
Great reaction friends. Enjoy The Journey - Cheers
awesome the rabbit hole is deep with Heart
My first Big Concert in Jacksonville FL 1979 Dog and the Butterfly Tour 16 and a half years old. . LoL !!
Saw them 3 times 1978. Texas jam Dallas cotton bowl. Early 80s Dallas.
I feel so lucky to have grown up with music! ❤
Thank you for taking me on a ride back to the Electric Rodeo concert in 1976. Starz, Nils Lofgren, Renaissnace, REO, Heart & Johnny & Edgar Winter. Beautiful day, beautiful concert.
I turned 8 that year but I was with you in spirit!

Enjoy the concert!!!! I am jealous!
really great job guys. its great to get into the weeds. heart is one of the greatest all time. and back then, as females, nobody wanted them to succeed.
It's a Rock song and the musicianship is incredibly cohesive and intuitive~
Song gives REAL GooseBumps~
This makes me happy that you guys liked this song, awesome 🤘🏼
Next suggestion for heart....."straight on" " dog and butterfly" and " who will you run to " my fav bangers!

Heart before the commercial sellout was amazing! Tasha teaching me the meaning to a song I heard a thousand times 😂
This album sat on the shelf at Peaches for quite a time. Then we figured it out.
Love Alive. Do a live version and you can see Ann playing the flute as well as singing.
Barracuda & Magic Man
🇨🇦 Vancouver band (at the time). In the 5 months before Dreamboat Annie was released in the US, at least one song from it was playing 24/7 on Canadian radio stations.
When it comes to their early ' 80s ones, two very good ones are "Allies" and "How Can I Refuse?"
He will love 70s Heart and she will love 80s Heart 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A little trivia regarding tie Wilson”s that you may or may not know. Their father was the top ranking Marine General, the Commandant of the Marine Corps during the mid-seventies. Thanks for playing their music.
I loved this song in the movie The Virgin Suicides.
Glad to see/ hear yun's are still on your musical journey! I have always wanted to hear a collaboration between Heart & Carlos Santana.❤
Magic man!
THe entire album is Fire! Dive in....T
HEY T, HI TASHA! 😊SO THIS AND THE OTHER HUGE HIT : MAGIC MAN ) COMES OFF OF THEIR DEBUT ALBUM ( DREAMBOAT ANNIE ) 👍

If you are getting ready for a concert, you should definitely check out the live version. ❤
This is just a straight-up banger!
Magic man is my favorite!!
ZEPPELIN WAS ANN AND NANCY'S IDOLS YOU GUYS! 😊THEIR 2ND ALUM AFTER DREAMBOAT WAS ( LITTLE QUEEN ) WITH THEIR HUGE HIT ( BARRACUDA ) T AND TASHA! 👍
I went to a pool party in 1976 and if you could swim the length of the pool through this whole song you won a bottle of vodka. I won and went home. Cool ass stuff back then.
yes that's Nancy on the acoustic
"Magic Man" should definitely be the next Heart song you react to.
TASHA WAS GETTING EARGASMS, YAYYYYYY!!! 👍😊 AND I KNOWWW YOU LOVE THE 70'S STUFF T, YOU ENJOY THE CREATIVITY SIDE OFF ALL OF IT!
the next one ,trust me! baracuda!. written after an exec from the record company, in an attempt to boost interest inthe band started a rumor that Ann & Nancy Wilson were in an incestuous lesbian relationship!
❤❣❤🔥LOVE HEART!!!

1970's Ann (and anytime Nancy!) has permission to go crazy on me. Let's get nuts, ladies!
Nancy is a great acoustic guitar player
