I'm sick of "innovation". Modern autos have been getting worse every year. There's a huge market for a rugged, simple, attractive vehicle like the frontier. I don't want a cartoon bubble body or a bunch of electronic nonsense built to track and spy on the driver. Give me a real machine. And when you have a great design, keep it the same forever.
The Frontier doesn't need to be a spaceship. It needs to be reliable.
I'm only 30 years old, but what's with all this, "it needs more" stuff? Review the frontier for what it is. If you want luxury go get the top trim Chevy or Ford. Our cell phones have all the Tech y'all want, let this truck be a truck. Some of us like it that way.
Also, what's with these "auto journalists" talking about hard touch plastics in a truck? ITS a TRUCK..meant for WORK!! If you're driving down the road caressing your dashboard, something's wrong with you. The only soft touch [interior] items should be the steering wheel, arm rest on the door, and center console. Hard plastics are much easier to clean than expensive leather interior.
This truck is better looking than any other mid size out there. I’m glad they put the new engine in this one. I might consider this truck now. I’m willing to bet the new frontier is gonna be longer or bigger. I want a small truck.
It doesn't matter about the tech or old feel it still sales like crazy and that's why they haven't changed it i love mine i wouldn't trade it for anything
Wake up call, there are people out in the automotive world that appreciate “old school “ trucks. I don’t need lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control. We want rock solid reliability! Nissan please bring back the Xterra as well!
Us old guys love the gauges and low tech features. Hell, I'm going to install an 8track stereo and dig out my old 8track tapes. I absolutely love my 2020 pro 4x. Might even install a CB radio with an antenna topped off with a yellow tennis ball.
These guys jump on the same old tiresome it's ancient bandwagon. The truth is, this truck has a loyal following simply because it does not have all of the additional expensive electronic "it's going to break soon" crap you find on other trucks. It's a solid truck with simply all you need, has a high resale value and still sells strongly.
These dudes are telling "dad jokes" and its not amusing.
It’s just a simple, honest, old school truck. Hard to really compare and complain about. Affordable, it’s why I see them in every city and construction fleet.
My dad had 3 of these, ranging from 1988 to 1998 and he absolutely them. Seeing them today basically looking the same makes me very sentimental of my dad. Your negative criticism actually makes me want to buy one. It’s refreshing to see you of school vehicles still around!
The 4.0 wasn't average. It was class leading and very reliable. Also, every manufacturer releases their new gen motors on current gen vehicles to weed out any issues.
If you want a true and honest review, there is a video of a Frontier owner who has 200,000 miles on his Nissan. He tells it like it is, the good, bad and ugly.
Toyota still uses a 5 speed in the 4runner and uses drum brakes c channel frameon the Tacoma if you wanted to compare old tech. Lastly the frontier sits on the fully boxed Titan frame so you can easily swap the v8 and also the front suspension for cheap long travel. The frontier is very under rated and a solid truck all the way around, new doesn't mean better.
Its still my dream truck. Compact pick up truck, easier for daily use. And it's soooo reliable
2018 pro 4x frontier owner....they could literally have this same truck in 3000 and my 100+old having ass would buy everyone leading up to it...I love it...its so simple and so fun to drive the older look keeps me coming back and proud to drive it around..
I have a 2012 pro 4x 6speed with mods. It is a awesome truck. Better than by 2008 titan. 98000 miles with no issues!!
Funny I watched a few minutes of this video and realized why I don't watch these guys. Lol.
Good thing it's tough as nails and kicks ass. No one's paying over 35k for this. It doesn't break. It's fast. It's powerful. These guys act like sissies. This is a tough as nails work truck and the Pro4x is amazing off road
