Joe I was confused for a second there, I can't believe Nissan is still selling this model in the US but atleast the engine and transmission package is modern with the skid plates to complete it all🙏
Hey Joe, when reviewing trucks (or large SUV's) please mention at what RPM the torque is rated for. That's actually really important when it comes to heavy hauling. The old 4.0 made the same torque 400rpm lower and had a smoother torque curve throughout, this engine you really need to rev it up to like 2000 rpm to get decent torque. Sure the 4.0 didn't rev as high, but it would have done the job better. The only reason this will perform better in real world is because of the 9 speed. If they had the same trans the 4.0 would out perform this when doing any actual work.
I agree with you, the fact that both engines make the same amount of torque is a testament to how powerful and how bad ass of an engine that old 4.0 VQ V6 engine was….i used to have new one back in 2005 when I was 19 years old….as matter of fact it was the first model year for this generation of frontier, a black 2005 Nissan Frontier SE 4x4 crew cab V6/Auto and it was a beast of a truck that i off-roaded a lot for the 5 years that I had it and 100k miles that I put into it before I traded it in which I then regretted that I did….big time regret…..I miss my baby…..😢 now I’m gonna give myself a timeout and face the corner and contemplate my past life decisions…😢😢😢

I just bought a 2020 SV Midnight today. I opted against the Pro4X because reasons, but I'm hoping I can mod it to get the same off road capabilities of this Pro4X. What do you think? Possible? Thanks man. Great content.
Congrats James! You sure can modify it!
Did you have any luck finding aftermarket lockers? I bought a 2021 CV and haven’t seen lockers for 2020 and 2021 CV models.
Joe did you notice interior rattling on the paved road?
After Joe mentioned that the key FOB was safe enough to not poke you in the family jewels, I felt confident with his multiple attempts in scientific research and added the Pro-4X to my future truck list.😆
Smart man Doug!
@@RaitisRides , you should add a key FOB approval test to the videos. Place key in pocket and have someone kick you in the Jimmy.🤣 Then give it a thumbs up or a zonk.
the Maxima and Altima are begging for a 9 speed transmission
I have a 2019 and love the 4.0 v6. I would not buy this.
Be glad you acquired a 2019 when you had the chance. Here in CA, there aren't any new 2019s left. Not a single one.
I have a 2015 Nissa Frontier with 6 speed manual transmission with 43k miles on it and still runs like new.
Same happy owner of 2019 SL LIFTED ON 33s...
Absolutely RELIABLE 💯 %
The updates are always welcome, but I don't see the point of push button start and they couldn't have put it in a worse location. Right there in front of your caddy to throw your phone and junk. They should have at least put it up on the dash.
