Getting a ton of comments about games from this list that got modern releases. I am aware of these, but the point of this video was to highlight games that never got home console ports back in the day. Should’ve been more clear about that in the intro.

6:44 IGS collection (maybe called oriental legend spooky on it), which has a playasia physical that is better than digital with pricing/joycon stickers and also has knights of Valor 15:12.

I'm thankful I was born 1980 and enjoyed the 80's and 90's of video games. Going to an arcade was just as exciting as going to any amusement park, carnival, or local fair. No matter how they try to replicate an arcade today it will never be the same again. Thanks for these rare gems I'm always looking for the less known retro games to dive into.

Also missed Konami's Monster Maulers which starts off as a boss rush similar to Metemquister, but then evoles to your stadnard scrolling beat em up
Also nissed The Crystal of Kings, which eas an early 2000's beat em up similar to Golden Axe byt had some interesting graphics and a cool metal soundtrack
Also left out Dungeon Magic/Lightbringer which eas an isometric arcade beat em up / hack n slash
And you left out Shadow Force by Technos (same makers of Double Dragon) as well as The Combatribes
And you left out Asterix, also by Konami which is based on the long running french comic
Also you left out Capcom's Armored Warriors/Powered Gear which was a mech beat em up
You also left out Pretty Sokdier Sailor Moon by Gazelle which came out 1995 and was not the same as the SNES and Sega Genesis Sailor Moon beat em ups
Lastly, you left out Michael Jackson's Moonealker by Sega which is totally different from the console game
Theres also some 3D beat em ups such as Slashout and Spiiker's Battle, bith by Sega, thought Spikeout woukd have bee listed as well but you can now pkay that on console via the lastest Yakuza game

Excellent list! I have played all of these thanks to MAME. I was at Bartari in Scranton, PA about a month ago and they have the 6 player X-MEN cab. I forgot how massive it is. I have a theory that a lot of the beat 'em ups that feature licensed characters that are stuck in the arcade is publishing rights issues. A good example is in the 90's Acclaim seemed to be the only company releasing X-Men and Simpsons games, but Konami made arcade games based on the licenses. MS-DOS and Commodore 64 got the Simpsons beat 'em up, but those aren't consoles. What's also interesting is that the fighting game X-Men Children Of The Atom is a Capcom game, but you'll find the Acclaim logo on the Saturn and PS1 box art. Seemed like a rare deal since Capcom usually always published their own games on PS1 and Saturn. Capcom had a ton of releases on both consoles. Seems like more evidence of license issues.

Aliens vs Predator did have an obscure home release. It was part of the "Capcom Home Arcade" console that was essentially a big arcade stick that hooked into your TV. Not a proper release but it exists I guess. This is the number 1 game on your list that needs a wider release.

Aliens Vs Predator is one of my all time faves . I got tired of waiting for a port so got an arcade cabinet. I've had it around 15 years and they still haven't ported it. I know there's licensing issues but they gotta get it out there, people WILL buy it. I was mad the recent "Capcom Beat em up bundle" just had the same games they always have

Whoa, Warrior's Blade is connected to the Rastan Saga series? I never knew that. The Rastan Saga games were dumb and hard, but also kind of cool. I used to really like the music even though I thought the games were kind of annoying. Warrior's Blade looks amazing, though. Wish the rest of the series was that detailed.

The problem was the hardware on the consoles. There were limitations that were combined with graphics and sound. Even the 64 bit era had challenges like on N64. That is why there were a few anticipated releases and sequels that never carried over from SNES to N64. One example was the Metroid franchise. There was never a Metriod game on N64 despite of popularity on SNES and Game Boy, but picked up production on Game Cube.

A good number of these were developed by taiwanese devs IGS, they never really got any exposure until the games were made available on MAME.
Also, Knights of Valor (IGS) being based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms -- Capcom's Warriors of Fate series is also based on the same novel, so it's interesting to see their diff takes on the source material. Plus, Knights of Valor also had multiple versions and sequels and versions-of-sequels.
