Growing up with a brother that was two years older in the 80's and 90's saw co-op in video games being a huge selling point for us back then. Had we known about the co-op in Lamborghini: American Challenge. We would have bought the game just for that reason.

I'm not gonna doubt that the controls are difficult to master, but if you play the game enough, you'll master them. It's definitely meant for more hardcore gamers tho.

Sonic Advance 3 have the best co-op mode with split screen. Sad SEGA didn't use it in re-edition of the first four game or in Sonic SuperStar and Mania

These were the years that both indie and online multiplayer gaming picked up. Online gaming peaked early and Indie gaming has steadily improved, maybe a small decline but really just waiting for the sequels of the greats.

Is rearmed still available on the Playstation store?

I spent *countless* hours in Castle Crashers with my friends as a high schooler. For the longest time, I really wanted a Castle Crashers 2. But over time, I've come to understand that it's not really necessary. It's kind of enough on it's own. And the devs have kind of said all they wanted to say. It'd be nice to see more beat-em-ups like that in the future though.

Nice list! A cozy game that I played the heck out of with my sis is Sky children of the light. Not only is it f2p, but it offers an abundance of fun content and is updated constantly.

The Gamera one was very interesting, especially since 2nd player can control his attacks.

Please don't forget about Army of Two in the 2008 video. This game was built around co-op.

I love that you're doing this sort of content in the Shorts format. I've recently started expanding into Shorts myself and it's nice to see others making Shorts that aren't just people walking around with their phones.

the last Oricru is terrible and the only reason you'd buy it is to make fun of it (like the room). Watch iron pineapples video on it. the coop is broken and the game is pretty bad.

HOTD2 and Zombie Revenge should be way higher on the list. Sega Arcade Classics. Aside from Virtua Cop 2, definitely the Top 2 games in my book.

Shadow the Hedgehog also had Co Op but it’s a similar thing where player 2 can control the various partners depending on the mission. It’s not the useful since there is no dedicated camera and none of them can use weapons. Sonic is the only somewhat useful partner since he’s the only one with the homing attack. The rest can only jump and punch to attack and some can’t even do that.

One of my favorite genres, it’s hard to list my absolute favorites because there’s so many. TMNT, POW, Captain America and the Avengers, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Streets of Rage 2, X-Men, Simpsons, etc… And I just want to recommend Sengoku 3 to anyone who’s a genre fan. Only found out about it a few years ago, and at first it seemed repetitive, but once I learned its moveset and combo system, it became extremely addictive. And the characters all play very differently.

Double Dragon, Final Fight, Golden Axe 2, TMNT Turtles in Time, Captain Commando, Streets of Rage 2, and of course: Battle Toads in Battlemaniacs

Bloodstained new update has the long awaited couch co-op mode Chaos. I haven't played it yet but the lorde of couch cooperation should be aware
