eggshells- Save the organic shells and put in ziploc in freezer. Membrane and all : When i build up a zip lock full. Idry in oven 225-270f 1-2 hrs. When complete dry. i grind in coffee grinder and store in freezer. add 1/2 teasp to 1 lb meat on food recipe. Is this beneficial? i feel it is. New subscriber. Love to learn. You are Awsome. 4 goldendoodles here at the Baird House ❤😊
Hi, what’s the benefit in the eggshells please?
@@tiffanybrooks4670 he talks about benefits of eggshells from 4:30 onwards
I’ve been doing this for years, except for freezing. I keep the ground shells in an airtight jar in the fridge.
Thanks! I was wondering how to store old shells without creating a huge amount of work
I first rinse the eggshells and then bake them in the oven at 350 Fahrenheit for 20 minutes, it’s enough then I grind them with my coffee grinder. I have one only for this purpose.I don’t use it for coffee 😊Store them in a glass container, and the life shelf is three months.
Finally! Real food recipe for dogs. so sick of seeing recipes bulked out with pasta and other stuff. Thank you !
Glad you liked it!!
My dog doesn't like raw eggs but he will eat one cooked with a meal. I usually give him one boiled egg a week with his meal, he's only 11.6 kilo's so I have give him half in two meals including the shell. I make his treats with grated carrot, sweet potato, chicken and lambs liver, herbs, a little garlic and sometimes a little ginger too, some ground nuts, ground pumpkin seeds, I put an egg in, they're cooked in moulds and then I freeze them. He loves those and asks for some every day. His other treats I make with sardines, tuna and mackerel etc. He doesn't like fish on his plate, so he gets his fish from his fish and veg treats and sometimes I put some salmon oil on his meal. He likes baby broccoli, carrot and courgettes raw has treats too. Whatever I'm cooking he likes to try it and he is really tuned in to when food is cooked, he comes to tell me. LOL.
I agree with all of the ingredients except for the rice.
My dogs love green beans broccoli cauliflower eggs red peppers .
Tenderloin steak chicken hearts calf liver.
Coming from a world of confusion from owning an English Bulldog that had health issues her whole life ! Then I bought an American Staffy / Pitbull The better of the two health wise , they are both very smart dogs and always feel like I'm letting them down with food , I'm glad I found you 🤟 as its almost as confusing trying to find someone like yourself amongst the thousands or channels Thank you, 🐺
It's simple, don't let anyone try to convince you otherwise. There's profit in confusion. As long as you think it's complicated, you'll continue to buy overpriced dog food!
Move over fido..watching you make that made me want some..😂
I eat a lot of vegetables throughout the week, i save things like the cauliflower greens, carrot skin, sweet potato skin and more just to add to my dogs food
That's a great way to reduce waste and boost your dog's diet with extra nutrients!
Been a follower for almost 5 months. Ive been preparibg cook food for my labrador. She s loving all the recipe. Thank u for the tips.
That's amazing. My new recipe ebook has just come out, a lot more recipes and videos!
FYI to anyone wanting to add eggs and shell .Quail eggs are more nutritious!!
You def need to answer these peoples questions!
Many dogs have GI issues with nightshade plants (potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, eggplant) as do many humans. Never feed any nightshades that are not very well cooked but probably better for most dogs to avoid nightshades all together. Just because a pepper has vitamin C, a good thing does not mean that the overall, the pepper is not a bad thing (inflammation in the gut feeds systemic inflammation that feeds into skin irritations, anal gland irritations, etc.).
I know I would be curious to here @the dog nutritionist address this!!!!
My Golden lived to 15 and she ate a mini pepper several times a week & loved them! I think people overthink food; keep it natural & simple. Look at the 30-year-old dog that was just on the news, they gave it table scraps its entire life and 30 years ago no one had all these "rules" as to what they could & couldn't eat & this dog is still living.
@@lindacoe8388 I do agree with you that most of us overthink feeding our dogs. That is why I like this channel because it is about keeping it simple. The overthinking comes from the propaganda from the dog food industry that has convinced the public that their kibble is perfect nutrition and feeding "human" food is toxic to dogs. Of course, they have used veterinarians to drive in that propaganda which was so much more effective than just the ads on tv.
I just love watching you :) Not sure I like the thought of feeding rice
Is there not a written version of thus anywhere
Thank you it looks delicious I will be trying it also eggshell is fine for most dogs I have a German shepherd , a cocker poo and a Yorkshire terrier cross they all eat the eggshell there’s never been a problem
I'm so happy to have found you! I really like that you touch on the emotional connection of sharing your (nutritious) meals with your pup ❤🐶
Love this, thank you! ❤
Great video!
amazing ❤️👌
Could not find the dog supplement in the description.
This channel is amazing, thank you, thank you 🙏🏻
Glad you enjoy it!
can egg shell be powdered boiled egg shell or it has to be non boiled egg shell?
Hi Cam, I am feeding my 4 dogs raw diet. Lots of work! What is your take on beef hearts I know they are muscle and organ meat. I also sauté veggies, give pumpkin, occasional sardines, also pork. I struggle with the cost and more with am I giving them a nutritionally sound meal. I appreciate any help. Love your videos. Thank you. Cherisse
Didn't receive any free nutrition guide
I have a German shepherd with food intolerances mainly from commercial pet food that’s why I started making her food I use raw red and orange peppers she has never had a problem just because nightshades can be a trigger it doesn’t mean they automatically are it could be any food you just have to watch them my dogs ears start itching very badly the next day there is a lot of scaremongering over certain foods being a problem
Cam,
There are many posts here that are in need of your expert oppinion.
However, i'm reaching out in hopes you'll reply to mine. I have read that any food that is harmful to dogs, such as onions, garlic, grapes, etc., are bad for dogs regardless if raw or cooked with other food. Your video, episode #7, making dog food from leftovers, states to "wash off any of those harmful items".
Doesn't the meal of leftovers with a cooked onion potentially create a problem within dogs? Are N-propyl disulfide or thiosulfate from onions (raw or cooked) still toxic to dogs when consumed by meats that were cooked with an onion?
I'm confused. Can you clarify, please?
I like everything except for feeling my dog eggshells 😂
Could you do a review on Eden dog food?
Love the videos. I make my french bulldog her food and biscuits which I then freeze. I need an alternative for when I go on holiday camping. Our campervan has a tiny freezer so any suggestions? I’ve looked at most dog foods and wondered what Edgard and Cooper food was like. Are their kibbles any different from others?
For short camping trips, consider having a separate cooler for dog's food frozen in serving size containers. I freeze water in gallon jugs to last longer, no mess with melting ice.
For long camping trips, I'm thinking about buying the freeze dried raw. Rehydrate before serving, add in fresh fruits and veggies. Some prepackaged freeze dried raw have complete meals...too pricey for every day, but convenient for camping.
You recommend eggshells, I'm unaware that dogs can digest eggshells. I've made foods in the past and added ground up eggshell and their feces contained ground up eggshells.
Grind them up into a powder I’m curious to see if it’s going to come up the same…
l love this channel :) l have switched to homemade food only for my 2 bitches! They only problem is a bit of constipation...their stool is harder, they stil go twice a day as always...l always use pumpkin then broccoli, cauliflower, apple etc + combined with 60% meat + 20% brown pasta or brown rice both ..rice seemed to make it worse so l tried pasta, Plus coconut oil, olive oil... Since l cook for them they do not drink much water anymore, there is plenty in the veggies, fruits, l put some in the meat... For the constipation issues do you recommend anything? l mean l think they lack fiber... THANKS :)!
I have many questions but when I went to the link I could not get to the nutrition guide. Trying to get the specific list and quantity of the ingredients.
Hi, can you make a video about puppy nutrition please? our vet has told us that we should only feed puppy/dog food, she was really annoyed!
I have a question
I have small Yorkies.and when I'm not home they stay in my room
They are pad trained
And i clean when I get home and take them to a walk
I have noticed that when I give them human food
The poop stinks
Will always be like this if i feed them home cooked food?
Please where I can download the book?
Is there a written recipe somewhere?
Your supplement topper for dog food is out of stock. Please let us know when to expect in back in stock and do you ship to California US
Hi do you sell your supplement? Thank you
Your website says that you’re not shipping the supplement topper to the U.S. right now, but we would like to start the kidney diet from your ebook now… what supplement do you recommend in the meantime while we wait? Would really appreciate a response since we already bought your book but what seems like a crucial aspect of the recipe we can’t get!! 😢
Hi! You can substitute our Meal Topper Multivitamin with a natural one if you prefer: Add 1 tbsp ground sunflower seeds & 1 tsp of thyme/ rosemary per 1kg or 2lbs of food and a few berries.
Where can i purchase the topper for the food? I have a Shih Tzu and she's such a picky eater anything to help her.
Hey, it's sold out at the moment, back in 10 days on my website
My dog has I want to make his food but I'm afraid not to give him the right can I give him that same recipe that you're making
Can you tell me the difference between hemp seed oil and flaxseed oil. Which is better?
I watched your video and confused at adding sardines and heepseed oil together in a meal.
Huge thanks for educating us. There is a big spotlight on Oxalates now for humans. Have you looked into long term oxalate consumption in dogs. Can this down the line be causing any oxalate deposits in their joints? Spinach is one of the high oxalate foods. I am thinking probably sweet potato too. Sorry for a long question.
Oxalate binds with calcium so if you give calcium ,and also a lot of foods contain calcium, I don’t think there’s gonna be a problem. Now, if you have an animal that is prone to UTI infections or kidney disease then you could give food that has that is low in oxalates.
I followed link and there is no free nutritional guide. Just makes you sign up for newsletter.
There's definitely a free guide, did you get an email with a link to download it?
Can a dog eat beans
What if they are allergic to chicken and beef
dont feed it to the dog !!!! what a question!!!!
There are lots of other options. Venison, lamb, etc., although they may be pricier than chicken and beef.
Doesn’t matter what meat is cooked in, even in onions?
Dogs shouldn’t be fed onions
@@craftycrafter1960 I know that. That's why i was confused by that statement, 'doesn't matter what the meat is cooked in'.
@@craftycrafter1960 - nor fresh garlic. Mine always had powdered garlic daily as did my horse...
@@craftycrafter1960 - he said, as long as you scrape off the onion... !
@@rosemarydudley9954 the onion is still cooked into the meat so I think he was wrong
Could you speak a little clearer when you name your supplement. Its hard to tell what you're saying with the accent.
My perfect British accent!?! Haha, yes I'll try!
the supplement is on his website which he lists above; can anyone just say THANK YOU for being so giving of your time to share your wealth of knowledge with all of us. BTW, I love your accent Cam!
@@thedognutritionist Love your accent Cam! And thanks a MILLION for the wealth of knowledge you are sharing with us, makes complete sense!
