      I first rinse the eggshells and then bake them in the oven at 350 Fahrenheit for 20 minutes, it’s enough then I grind them with my coffee grinder. I have one only for this purpose.I don’t use it for coffee 😊Store them in a glass container, and the life shelf is three months.

    My dog doesn't like raw eggs but he will eat one cooked with a meal. I usually give him one boiled egg a week with his meal, he's only 11.6 kilo's so I have give him half in two meals including the shell. I make his treats with grated carrot, sweet potato, chicken and lambs liver, herbs, a little garlic and sometimes a little ginger too, some ground nuts, ground pumpkin seeds, I put an egg in, they're cooked in moulds and then I freeze them. He loves those and asks for some every day. His other treats I make with sardines, tuna and mackerel etc. He doesn't like fish on his plate, so he gets his fish from his fish and veg treats and sometimes I put some salmon oil on his meal. He likes baby broccoli, carrot and courgettes raw has treats too. Whatever I'm cooking he likes to try it and he is really tuned in to when food is cooked, he comes to tell me. LOL.

    Many dogs have GI issues with nightshade plants (potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, eggplant) as do many humans. Never feed any nightshades that are not very well cooked but probably better for most dogs to avoid nightshades all together. Just because a pepper has vitamin C, a good thing does not mean that the overall, the pepper is not a bad thing (inflammation in the gut feeds systemic inflammation that feeds into skin irritations, anal gland irritations, etc.).

      My Golden lived to 15 and she ate a mini pepper several times a week & loved them! I think people overthink food; keep it natural & simple. Look at the 30-year-old dog that was just on the news, they gave it table scraps its entire life and 30 years ago no one had all these "rules" as to what they could & couldn't eat & this dog is still living.

    • @treasuretrovel3816

      @@lindacoe8388 I do agree with you that most of us overthink feeding our dogs. That is why I like this channel because it is about keeping it simple. The overthinking comes from the propaganda from the dog food industry that has convinced the public that their kibble is perfect nutrition and feeding "human" food is toxic to dogs. Of course, they have used veterinarians to drive in that propaganda which was so much more effective than just the ads on tv.

    Cam,
    There are many posts here that are in need of your expert oppinion.
    However, i'm reaching out in hopes you'll reply to mine. I have read that any food that is harmful to dogs, such as onions, garlic, grapes, etc., are bad for dogs regardless if raw or cooked with other food. Your video, episode #7, making dog food from leftovers, states to "wash off any of those harmful items".
    Doesn't the meal of leftovers with a cooked onion potentially create a problem within dogs? Are N-propyl disulfide or thiosulfate from onions (raw or cooked) still toxic to dogs when consumed by meats that were cooked with an onion?
    I'm confused. Can you clarify, please?

    Love the videos. I make my french bulldog her food and biscuits which I then freeze. I need an alternative for when I go on holiday camping. Our campervan has a tiny freezer so any suggestions? I’ve looked at most dog foods and wondered what Edgard and Cooper food was like. Are their kibbles any different from others?

      For short camping trips, consider having a separate cooler for dog's food frozen in serving size containers. I freeze water in gallon jugs to last longer, no mess with melting ice.
      For long camping trips, I'm thinking about buying the freeze dried raw. Rehydrate before serving, add in fresh fruits and veggies. Some prepackaged freeze dried raw have complete meals...too pricey for every day, but convenient for camping.

    l love this channel :) l have switched to homemade food only for my 2 bitches! They only problem is a bit of constipation...their stool is harder, they stil go twice a day as always...l always use pumpkin then broccoli, cauliflower, apple etc + combined with 60% meat + 20% brown pasta or brown rice both ..rice seemed to make it worse so l tried pasta, Plus coconut oil, olive oil... Since l cook for them they do not drink much water anymore, there is plenty in the veggies, fruits, l put some in the meat... For the constipation issues do you recommend anything? l mean l think they lack fiber... THANKS :)!

    Huge thanks for educating us. There is a big spotlight on Oxalates now for humans. Have you looked into long term oxalate consumption in dogs. Can this down the line be causing any oxalate deposits in their joints? Spinach is one of the high oxalate foods. I am thinking probably sweet potato too. Sorry for a long question.

    • @Just_Lurking8
      @Just_Lurking8 2 місяці тому

      Oxalate binds with calcium so if you give calcium ,and also a lot of foods contain calcium, I don’t think there’s gonna be a problem. Now, if you have an animal that is prone to UTI infections or kidney disease then you could give food that has that is low in oxalates.
