Hi Ruth, thank you for your encouragement. I'm in a "I don't know what I believe" place at the moment and will often want to switch off as soon as someone starts talking about anything to do with Christianity, but with you, in the privacy of my own home, it feels manageable and non-judgemental. So thank you and I'm always impressed with how much knitting you can get done and the joy that you have.
Faith is such a personal thing. Sometimes blocking out all the noise is the only way to think and see things clearly. Praying you will find your way x
Ruth, I appreciate this devotional. I am in the midst of confusion at work, at home and even in my church. This does cause me to want to hide, but it also leaves me “homesick” for my true home. I must keep reminding myself that HE has left me here because his purpose has not been completed in me. I don’t need to understand, but I do need to be satisfied that HE has me in HIS hand.
Amen. I have to daily come to him to keep my heart & head straight x

Thank you so much!!!!! I truly believe that God gave us the Psalms for those times we are weak, have no direction, and just need recentering. I sat, eyes closed, as you read a Psalm that I absorbed a couple months ago during a hard time. But tears flowed when you read a song I grew up on and recently it came to mind. Thank you for letting us see your humanity because Christians are human too. I for one have lots of times of muddled thoughts and discombobulation from the news and remind myself God is coming back to have His victory. Hallelujah!
Ruth, your laugh is contagious and as someone who had open heart surgery in December, finding you in February was a gift from God. I know how our hardships are God's glory. I find Him in all things and that includes knitting. Thank you for your encouragements, scripture readings and overall wonderful message of our King. Many, many thanks for the past few months helping me get through a tough time. The knitting, joyous laugh and God is a blessing and I look forward to more.

I was brought up a Christian but life experiences turned me away I wish I could believe and I have the psalm you read in the front of my diary, I love that thought “be still and know “, life and the world would be so much better if we all did indeed follow the 10 commandments, can you imagine…..anyhoo I’m off to sleep, a Glasgow girl living in Australia, take care lots of love ❤

❤ Lovely podcast, beautiful makes. So good to have coffee with you today. I really embrace brioche but struggle with Fisherman’s rib - how does that make sense, I don’t know. - It is hard to shut out the sorrow in the world when you care so much for others and cannot bring an end to the dreadful suffering caused by hands other than their own. I have so much gratitude for my many blessings too and never take them for granted. I think that gives me strength to carry on each day and not let the evil in the world change me. Yes Ruth I do have some of those problems with the news and what's going on in the world too. When we have too much that we can't do anything about (of course the first thing to do is pray!) it creates chaos in the mind and heart I think. I don't watch too much to keep it in check. God will give us peace! You are overloaded it sounds like.

Ruth, I just adore you! In the several years I have binge watched to get caught up to all the current episodes, you have remained Ruth. I cannot emphasize the wondrous phenomenon enough, because so many You Tubers start out humble but I think something sometimes goes to their heads and they become snobbish and greedy and I just cant wrap my head around who they are today. Anyways, thank you for Ruth Loves to Knit keeping the relatable Ruth piece. I am a quiet Christian and I so enjoy the last segment of your podcasts. It's the Lord speaking through you. What a gift!

Thank you so much Ruth for those words from the Bible. I’m in the US and our country is a mess right now. It made me realize that I have been trying to tell God what I think should be done rather than letting my trust be totally in him. I needed to be reminded of who knows best.

Hi Ruth lovely to see you as always, I totally agree the t sometimes it’s better to switch of the news for self preservation. Otherwise your thoughts can send you crazy when you feel absolutely helpless. Knitting is sometimes my saviour. All would be peaceful until he got really excited then anything could happen. My Sam is now 25 years old and lives in his own house but still enjoys gaming. Happy Birthday to your lovely Dad.

I was so happy when I saw the notification that you had a new podcast up! I had to wait till this evening to see it🙁. 😍😍Hubby is in bed and the house is quiet! Got some rows done on my Garden cardigan 🎉. Did some rows on my Salty Air Tee at the Dr office waiting for a hearing test. I have cast on the Colin socks by Twinset and Purl. Pulled some yarn out of stash but I’m not liking the yarn. I’ll knit a little more and see if it works. Found a beautiful alpaca, wool and nylon blend to cast on the Hilary shawl. Had to do some deep stash diving to found the right yarn, now I’m waiting on some more needle tips. I also can’t wait for the Ruth shawl to come out . Bought some pretty yarn for it, I’m hoping I have enough! I also purchased the Antrim shawl pattern. Your shawlette was beautiful! My Samuel is a gamer too! But he is a little bit older🤣 yup mine will be 45 at the end of the summer! And he still is an avid gamer! 🤣🤣They never grow out of it! 🥳🥳Happy Birthday to your sweet Dad! I can relate to turning off the news now and again, and realizing what a luxury it is to do so, but all the things going on at the moment, all in one daily news episode, is just too much sometimes. When it comes to faith, I'm always in doubt, I guess. But I always very much enjoy your words at the end !

I totally understand your feelings. My husband and I have not watched news since the pandemic. Just so much gloom and doom repeated over and over 24/7. We each follow short news updates each morning that keeps us aware, but not overwhelmed. In my humble opinion the greatest downfall of TV was 24/7 news channels. Here in the US the reporters seem more interested in sensationalism than truth. Breaking the story first is more important than being sure the facts are correct. Enough of my rant! Have a great day!
