Sitting in the car listening to Continuum, then opening your mind to something like Born & Raised and getting around to understand the whole discography. It's an exercise in opening your mind to what an artist can be, or do.
Oh, that's the same for me. I discovered John listening to AOL music in 2002. He has created the soundtrack to my life, and there have been 20+ years of growing. I am seeing him for the first time next year in Glasgow. I may get sick from overexcitement.
Same here. Heard “wonderland” in 2002 or so and I was hooked. I remember thinking the lyrics were so *adult*. Then “bigger than my body” and “clarity” the next year. It was a big musical moment for a 13 yr old.
This song is a warm summer morning at around 9am on a front porch rocking chair drinking a sweet tea. If there’s no birds chirping in the studio version I’ll be quite surprised
l agree with you, indeed John Mayer is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style, he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul…
I understand why you said simple but I heard some sweet music movements in those chords! I got swayed in different directions... it felt more textured than simple no? Cheers! My first listen on this and fully shook!
Crazy how the meaning of a song shifts over time. And with life moving so fast, it almost feels like every few months. I hope he pursues these beautiful songs and gets them recorded!
WOW. This is one of the most authentic songs I've heard John do in a long time. This feels as true to him as his music always has, but in recent years I've wondered if that same authenticity is there. This is it!
Listening to the video of Edge of Desire Live on this tour makes the original sound far less authentic. He’s found a confidence in his vocals and in exploring his own songs.
Love this song because of it's simplicity. It's simply sweet and loving. A very positive note and different than most new songs written today. That's John for you, ever new. Love it! Love him.
I will forever remember where I was and what I was doing when I first heard Stop This Train, and it stopped me dead in my tracks and gave this indescribable feeling that I haven’t had since. This performance made me feel that feeling again for the first time since way back then. This song is hauntingly beautiful, and a stroke of genius
Love this pot of coffee Take a sip every time it comes by… A little cream and sugar please, I’ll just sit back and watch as hot water boils and percolates over roasted beans, and maybe well up inside and become what I am, a great songwriter too. Cos, I might as well be myself…. A lot going on in this beautiful thing you shared with us . Ira
I was at the show when he debuted “Rosie”. This, however hit me right in the feels. Saw John for the first time in the early 2000s. Feels like I watched him grow.
We're all growing old together. That's amazing you were at the Rosie performance. I was lucky enough to be at the recording of Any Given Thursday as my first concert.
This song hits me right at home, since I left my hometown in search of a better life , promising my significant other I’d come back for her, I am coming back
l agree with you, indeed John Mayer is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style, he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul…
This was one of the highlights of the night for me. I usually take way too many pics and videos but was trying to stay off my phone and just enjoy the show so thanks for sharing this!

Thank you for this amazing recording! I was there and felt truly humbled to witness this for the first time. Thank you John 🙏🏼 You truly are one of the best songwriters of our time 🥰
@@CaseMorton exactly! I saw his first album tour at the ryman, the kid blew me away, then his next album tour in Nashville, then the trio tour at the ryman again, then 3rd album, ... Big gap, got back into him with search for everything (great!), sob rock, now solo... Revisiting his stuff I missed, I'm regretting not making any effort to listen much or to go see him for three next 3: bs, b&r and pv tours... I've come to appreciate these 3 albums so much more now. I don't plan to miss another. 👍
Never been a fan of John Mayer. Something inside me can’t stand him BUT he is an extremely talented musician who brings people joy and that’s what it’s all about!! Keep a rockin
“ Waitin on the day, when my life on the run bleaches out in the sun and shows my age” this song clearly shows that John has come to celebrate his age of now feeling absolutely accepting of the turn outs in his life, regardless of him not having a family yet.
You are so right it's so similar to that song which I never heard before until I just came back to comment and say Thank you! Two great songs before I fall asleep tonight ❤
Cheers to whoever made the harmony to ‘in the neighborhood’ at 2:40 🍻 :) this song really grows on me, can’t stop listening to it, hope I feel the same emotions in the studio version too
Except the first verse if not the whole thing he is saying na na na na na na na, because the last words at the end of each sentence is the word “now” then I think he switches to la la la
I feel this too!! I wonder if this is applicable to his life CURRENTLY or perhaps it’s just a wish/imagining of what it’ll be like when he does settle down in the future
I’m so proud of my teenage self for picking this guy. He has become more than a musician…he’s been my companion growing.

I first heard JM on Live in L.A. I wavered during his heavy Dead time but he keeps making me smile.
I feel the same .we have great taste in men (music)❤ the way I romantize this man is unreal
The next record will kill us all.
Agreed.
Yup
The best" la la la la la la la " i have ever heard

So happy to see new music from him that reminds me of the ‘old’ John Mayer. He looks more comfortable in his own skin and loving it again.

this should be the closing track on the new record.. masterpiece.
A homie song...so simple and yet so beautiful. John Mayer's music is here to stay for a very long time.

You can tell he's been doing a lot of self reflection as he's getting older. Love that we're all getting to grow old together with him.

Between this and Drifting I'm thinkin Johns going for a singer/songwriter vibe on his next album and I'm into it
Being estranged from all family, friends, and just people in general…and yearning for that return. Damn this hits home…a dream you hope comes true
WOW!! That was nice and PURE BEAUTY…performance PLUS .

I was washing dishes and stopped like wait he sounded familiar, good ole john mayer can do no wrong

This song makes me so nostalgic and reminiscent of my childhood and life being so simple. Just beautiful!

I think all this time with Dead and Company really has helped him with his folky sounding songwriting, this and Drifting are great songs!
Absolutely agree. The breakdown moment at the end feels very dead inspired over his other music
Drifting is probably one of if not my favorite song hes ever done. Saw him in NJ for his first show. Was amazing
For all the people that love John I can understand why... because I do too.
My money waiting CD+DVD
I was there and really appreciated him sharing this, what a special moment. Thank you for sharing!

John Mayer always brings me somewhere else with his music, I adore this man

Very cool .. a wee bit Dave Matthews. Well done on the video! 👍
I've always wanted to see a conversation between him and Dave discussing their songs. There's definitely a lot of similarities.
Thank you!
Here I say: next album=get some grammys
When do we think this will see the light of day?
“ Waitin on the day, when my life on the run bleaches out in the sun and shows my age” this song clearly shows that John has come to celebrate his age of now feeling absolutely accepting of the turn outs in his life, regardless of him not having a family yet.
Rly like this ... parts of the song remind me of Bob Dylan's buckets of rain (which John has covered previously)

Anyone knows when these songs are getting released. Can't wait😢😢😢
Can’t wait until this is on an album… keep it acoustic this doesn’t need drums bass or electric on it… keep it stripped down…
Totally agree! I think he's getting a taste of less is more on this tour
What he says at 3:19 should be in every version of this song
Glad I’m not the only one who thinks this!
Does anyone has an idea what the deeper meaning is behind the line: two trees falling in the woods alone. Just curious!
if a tree falls in the forest & there is nobody there to hear it does it make a sound? a zen thing...Buddhist influence!
Except the first verse if not the whole thing he is saying na na na na na na na, because the last words at the end of each sentence is the word “now” then I think he switches to la la la

@@CaseMorton Thank you Case! :) Hope he releases more new songs!

This was a year ago? I'm so far behind
Did he sing Daughters at some point of this solo concert?
Takes a minute to get used to the chord progression in the chorus.
Is this a retirement tour? Thinking he might be considering bowing out.
🤣 Never. Ever. You are clueless 😉🙄
@@phluphykatandrea1005 I wasn’t hoping.
