Thanks for sharing Bill. Enjoyed watching. That ole 720 is a pulling machine. I had a couple of them years ago but they were stock but they would pull on the farm.
Just wanted to say after watching your videos, I got the itch to start making some of my own on here. Just did one about my 70 puller earlier today. Keep up the good work 🤘🏼
I have a 70 diesel and a #55 3 bottom plow. If I put a turbo on it I'd have to have water cooled bottoms 😅 Love your videos and keep them coming! God bless 🙏🙏
I love seeing those two cylinder diesels pull. How many RPMs are they turning? The Massey Harris with a V8 looks like a fun project. Since I'm a big Chrysler fan Id like to build one with either a 360 LA block or for something really different a 318 poly. The neatest modified antique tractor I've ever seen was a John Deere G with a 392 Chrysler Hemi from an Imperial. They used the factory clutch in it.
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 wow. That's a testament to how good those diesels really were. I have my dad's 70 diesel and a 730 diesel. When I overhaul the 730 I'd like to make it a solid four plow tractor, 75 HP.
I videos of your two cylinder diesel tractors running couple three years ago somewhere and Mann did I ever want one after that I started gathering up stuff and then I kind of got cold on it. Maybe I better get back to work lol.!!
That "720" was built from parts from a 70 and 730, the transmission is a 70 trans. We pulled in 4th gear which is considerably faster than 5th gear in a 720/730.
The 720 did not have a turbo, all bore and stroke power. That sled had 10,000 lbs of lead over the pan, all the weight box had to do was move over the rear axle so it wasn't counter balancing the lead and that would stop you!
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 Hardwood, Va. It was a late 70's sled, had to have a pull back tractor. Medford rode on the side seat regardless of the dust and dirt thrown on him. He would run the Fredericksburg Fair pulls until they were a sanctioned pull, and later ran Antique pulls at many local (Northern VA, Piedmont area) pulls. Jw, you have pulled many sleds from a few years ago.
Ok, thanks. A bunch of sleds were called "Heartbreaker" then. Clarke County, Va FFA built one in the late '70's with the same name, when Pulling was just past a bunch of farmers looking for bragging rights. 👍
it wasn't 1000 cubes. heard the guy that bought it after it was sold took the engine apart and shipmen that built that engine had welded the combustion chambers up and no 2 were the same. dont know where it went when he fixed it it
Thanks Bill , always enjoy
the old stuff.

Yeah, it was tough in its day. Not bad for 513 cubes!
Thanks for sharing bill I pull with a 1951 B that has been turned way up

I'll check it out.
Just like true drag racing. You can't beat old school tractor pullin
Love that video buddy
Hey Bill,,pretty sweet pulling for the green machines.
Hey Ron!👍
Thanks for video Bill. No other comment necessary!
Back in the good old days Kevin I am Jimmy Dodson nephew that used to help.
Hello William good to hear from you.
To paraphrase Ron White: " I don't know how many cubic inches they had against me, but I knew how many they were going to use" 😂 Great video, Bill!
Truth!

Great show Bill is one of the JD that had the turbo you built, if can you show some more that’s so cool, God Bless
👍👍
That old W9 was stout moved alot of weights on that tractor when it pulled in stock class and open class made good power.
lt was tough!

Hey Dan! we were turning 2,250 rpm with the 720, more than that with the turbo 70.

Kool video, nice
I always wondered who ran that “hazardous material” beast!
Great video!!
My secret is out! Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.

I'd be glad to help if you decide to build one!!
Known dougie all my life.
This pull is at the federalsburg vfw
Thanks! Knew somebody would know!
Grew up on JD 50, 620, and a little bit on a 720. I'd like to know what gear you are pulling in? Sure isn't 2nd or plowing gear!

Sure be nice to talk to you . I have a 70 I run hard like yours and I can't keep shims happy on the crank . Don't no what to do
How did you dual exhaust through the turbo. It looked like you were in 5th gear. And how did that sled work I didn't see the weight transfer move?

True braggin rights
Did you ever pull against Medford Shelton's "Heartbreaker" sled?
Not sure, where was he based out of?

The last clip looked like it was at bridgeville del don't know about the other but i do know ol doug thompson was the announcer
Yep, Apple Scapple .@@timbreeding8048
A w9 was a good looking farm tractor. Not so much as a puller.
Hey Ran.. uh John! That W9 had unreal cubic inches, rumor was around 1,000.

this is drag racing not tractor pulling it is like you are trying to out run the sled!!!!!!!!!!!
