Can’t wait to go back to Italy! It’s really difficult to describe the taste & quality of the food to Americans who think they’ve had real Italian food. The people are exceptionally friendly & helpful & the scenery is magnificent & I love Italy🥰 I’m the first born Italian American in my family & all of the Italian food prepared by my family has been authentic & so delicious! Still, the ingredients in Italy, per my famiglia, are much better. The water, soil & atmosphere are a bit different & it’s obvious in the higher quality of the Italian food. The ingredients are also fresher in Italy… it’s the real capital of “farm to table”. I’ll never forget the Bistecca alla Fiorentina I had in Florence… Val di Chiana beef, absolutely swoon worthy! Thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through you. I can't afford a $200 lunch nor plane tickets to Italy but i did so enjoy watching you two enjoy that beautiful meal. GREAT VIDEO! Fun to watch.
Granted there is the plane ride involved and this meal was certainly not inexpensive especially with all the wines, but you might be surprised to know that there are some Michelin star restaurants ( likely not all tablecloth restaurants) that are very affordable. The Michelin website even has a search feature where you can sort restaurants by price and choose ones if you are "on a budget"
do you want to get closer to our cuisine? avoid restaurants, prepare and cook everything at home with the most natural ingredients possible, avoid supermarkets like the plague and you will have the same results
After my 10 day trip to Venice-Verona-Bolzano I lost 30lbs because upon returning to the US… i couldn’t eat the crap served here… This video brought me tears 😢 of happiness! Grazie!!!
The worst part about it is the 'stuff' you said you had trouble eating again probably cost you more, or at least the same as in Italy. I can understand and empathize with you. In Italy they don't purposely price gouge you like in most other countries, just rip you off to enrich themselves. The prices Italians charge for the level of food is worth every cent and more.

The history of prosciutto stretches back to pre-Roman times. In San Daniele in Friuli, it was the Celtic people who first began preserving meat with salt (then the Romans began air curing), and in Parma it was the peasants. Unlike speck (Speck Alto Adige PGI) from the South Tyrol region, prosciutto is not smoked. There is also a tradition of making prosciutto in southern Switzerland. There is evidence of a market taking place in San Daniele as far back as 1063, so it's likely that, by this time, the curing and selling of prosciutto was commonplace in the region. Wild boar is everywhere! They're native to Eurasia and North Africa, but they've since been introduced to the Americas and Oceania and are now one of the widest-ranging mammals in the world. Destroying crops, native vegetation, ruining water quality, they cause huge problems in the places where they're invasive.
