I live for your vlogs - is that sad? I don't care. This one is so special with the raised beds discussion. I have to give a shout out to Charlie because I love how he thinks things through whether it's antiques, cooking, gardening, etc. Gives another dimension to your regular always enjoyable topics. It's very comforting listening to him and often gives me inspiration.

So Love your vlogs - am thoroughly enjoying watching the new kitchen garden take shape. I think your clothes refresher is a fabulous idea if, as you say, you have the room. Omg Josie…this vlog took my breath away. I absolutely loved Floward and the bouquet you bought. The restaurant called Chameleon was to die for. I have had dinner in a few restaurant with the greenhouse effect but they were in New York State not city. I love that so much for anniversaries or special night. I too, had a Charlie (the love of my life) for 52 years. He has passed , so just enjoy the ride it can be marvelous if you play your cards right.luv mj

Oh, Josie, I was enjoying this with my morning cuppa, when you threw your, Valentino up in the air in front of you, and Charlie just stood there, well, I'm still laughing. So cute you two are! I just adore your London trips, and that Dior Bag of dreams! Then you come home to your gigantic garden beds. This is all so exciting!

I was just about to mention crop rotation, but then you mentioned changing your planting plan each year. 👍
Something else to think about in terms of herbs, is that Mediterranean herbs (rosemary, sage, thyme oregano etc) need different conditions to most veg - I have a super sunny bed just for these herbs. Also strawberries are in the same spot for a few years before you need to plant new plants (runners) somewhere else, while asparagus is in the same spot for 20 years or so.
You and Charlie might want to research this: a farmer once told me that you cannot grow pumpkins in the same field two years in a row. I think it has something to do with pests or diseases. Love to you both from New Jersey, USA.

Josie it is a joy to watch your vligs. I live in Ohio and we just had a small sleet storm on the heels of rain and it is so lovely to see the beautiful Spring flowers and weather. We have grass greening up and bulbs coming in but no flowering trees or shrubs and it is sstill mostly dreary

My heart hit my mouth when your Valentino bag did exactly what you didn't want it to and it came crashing down onto the ground!😱 I believe the bush with all the bumble bees and beautiful butterfly on it, is a Daphne - they flower between February and March and they are very fragrant!

I love that you are trying to preserve growing space while Charlie is thinking more about aesthetics. I’m sure you can find some beautiful woven willow structures or similar that can be moved each year. You could also clear out the beds after summer and broadcast brassica seeds enmasse so you could have some winter colour like in a formal French garden. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy

Have you considered your reclaimed containers in the middle of the raised beds for veg / herbs etc? It’ll give height in the middle .. and can have the steps to get to it?

I think it's a Moth that spreads Box Blight - not a butterfly. There was an item about it on Gardener's World last year.
We had big raised beds for our veg but had to make them smaller in the end as it was impossible to far enough in between the stuff to harvest/prune/weed etc🙊will they be putting little paths within them so you can access things?xx
Josie rarely shops on a physical store, good self control she has there! And you can tell she really is frugal with her money.

What about a day of shopping in London without makeup? Why do we need makeup everywhere and always? Here in Scandinavia, we never feel so much pressure. We use it if we feel it, and if not, it’s ok. And the skin feels and looks good when it breathes better. And personally, I love seeing what people really look like...❣
Make up is a great protector against city smog..:) I wear it only in the city countryside and sea- its au naturelle !
I keep makeup remover in my car, so I can take my makeup off before heading home. Especially on long work days.

I am always surprised that you Josie, and other fashion and skin care influencers, put expensive creams on your face, AND NEVER ON YOUR NECK. I am eighty years old, I have always applied creams to my neck as well as face. The very act of holding the head up to apply neck cream, gives the muscles in the neck a chance to tighten. My neck is remarkably smooth, not making this up…….

I truly enjoy your vlogs and I hope it wouldn't be too rude to ask you if you could kindly consider a slight change of volume (music is a bit loud for me) and camera movement (if there is a way to keep the camera a bit more steady, I realize it's my eyes that have issue with fast movements on screen, but it would be so lovely if you could do something to just slow it down a tiny bit and keep it a bit more focused on one thing at the time). I'm trying to understand why someone would make such an expensive bag with the company name across it. It just makes a cute bag look stupid. But what do I know? I don't carry a purse. If I'm honest, I don't care at all about fashion or material things in general. However, I enjoy this channel and skip all the boring parts about clothes and make up. I found this channel during 2020 (while my job was crazy busy) and loved the everyday humdrum of theses vlogs. I am definitely the parson who watches because I care about if you got the recycling out, what the weather is like over there, and if you enjoyed your Mac and Cheese.
