Oso Grande greetings Oso Grande! please could you tell me what knife is longer "safe maker 1" or "safe keeper 2" ??? And also, which one is better in your opinion ?
I love the single edge, it's a little too thick (newer designs that are flat on one side would be my preference in terms if thickness). The single edge makes a perfect Ulu style food prep tool and doubles as a neck knife sleeping on road trips (bedside tables are no good for self defense since if someone crashes into your room your first job is getting away while gathering your wits). Congratulations on your excellent collection.
Never hear that they're supposed to be the best production push knives. I could probably make an argument to contest that statement, but I will say that they are probably the best value for a budget friendly push knife. If you can spend some more, it's hard to beat a TOPS
Really nice job at putting all this push daggers on a frame. I am just arrived and subscribed to the channel and almost every blade I wanted to see from Cold Steel is here.
i love these i really do,i don't own any but i would like to.i used to be a knife collector swinguards and stiletto's mainly.i would like to get a couple of these one plastic and then maybe the one under the 4 inch one.nice video
The 1.5" Urban Pal doe not come with a belt clip but you can make one using paracord or you can buy one of these and adapt it to the sheath... www.osograndeknives.com/catalog/knife-sheaths-pouches/spyderco-g-clip-5-position-carry-clip-for-fixed-blades-17927.html
Really great video. Thanks for that. I have the urban pal EDC on my neck and it works great. Also the SafeKeeper III, a litle to big to carry on your neck, and in your belt wont like it. I think i will go for the Polimer Push daggers. If i put them on a case will xray machine of an airport notice the shape of these push daggers?, i have seen that these machine can see plastic shapes. Someone: Any experience?
For the FGX Models, I think it might be possible to make your own Kraton Sheath. There's instructionals around on youtube on Kraton sheaths. I'm not sure though, because you have to heat the kraton, which might also melt the plastic knives.
Years ago I used to make kydex sheaths for the Cold Steel Delta Darts and I never had a problem with the Darts deforming. I cut the kydex material into size and then one by one heated it in a toaster oven (wear gloves) quickly removed it and folded it over the dart and put it in a vice and finished it off before it cooled to much. You have to work fast or it will cool and not be malable. Practice makes perfect!
I have wanted the safe keeper 3 since they came out. Now that they are discontinued they are near impossible to find. I keep checking forums and eBay. So far decades later no luck. One day........
Just bought one real and one FGX. And of course from Osso Grande. Somewhat high shipping cost, but since you seem to be the only seller, I'll gladly take it. :-)
Cold steel has another one called the Drop Forged Push Knife/Blade that is probably better and Benchmade makes one that is definitely higher quality than any of these.

When I was in the joint they called these “The devils butt plugs”
twentington because some governments see these as only weapons and even though they can be used in self defense they only think of what COULD happen if someone with ill intent had one
Cheaper to make/easier to maintain. Most of those near $200 dollar Emerson knives are flat on one side, basically they say it's because sharpening is easier with that style of blade.
It's nothing to do with cheapness. Its actually a more effective design that way. The beveled back and flat front create a triangular wound channel which the body cant self heal and is an utter nightmare for a surgeon to try and stitch up. These are kill weapons every bit as deadly as a gun. Make no mistake on that.
They do this to comply with the law in certain areas. I've just started researching Push Daggers for defense. Knife fighting experts answered the exact same question you and I had (ShivWorks guy on WarriorPoet video).
Depending in where you live you can have single or double sides push daggers. Some areas these are not even allowed, so just carry a folder and or your favorite pistol.
I just sharpend one off These push knife / fgx one With a nail file Worked great IT just Broke the edges and glass fiber just showed out like IT was hair sticking out So now i cant fix IT Thx. Dick
Double edged dagger possession is a felony in some states, and in many states a push dagger is specified as a weapon, not just a tool that can be used as a weapon. That means when your push dagger comes out, it's OK for the other guy to pull his firearm out. Oops !
Everything I have ever bought from CS has been excellent products.
Excellent vid, thanks for showing the sheaths as well, makes a big difference.
Thanks for watching and your support! Stay sharp my friend!

Are the single blades just as effective as a double ? Looking for a good self defense weapon as a lady to use
Really nice job at putting all this push daggers on a frame. I am just arrived and subscribed to the channel and almost every blade I wanted to see from Cold Steel is here.
Are these able to be carried horizontally? I’ve seen reviews about the sheaths not being able to accommodate that. Thanks

How well does the pocket clip work on the Japanese Safe Keeper 2 ?
Thank you for your kind words and for subscribing. We are working to record and post more Cold Steel reviews and you'll seel them in the future.
I wish they made a trainer for the safe maker 2.
Check out the shrade trainer just in case if you were not aware
There is cheap fgx plastic version
I have the safemaker 3 with leather sheath. My neighbor gave it to me in a box of her dead husband's stuff

The scans at airports will find them, i would advise against it
U think they compare to Treeman pushdaggers?
Very informative thank you for your time
Hi Oso,Can you tell me where the Safekeeper 2 and 3 are made?
+Incog Incog The current version of the Cold Steel Safekeeper I| and III are made in Taiwan.
+Oso Grande Thanks for the prompt reply.Cheers..

Is serrated better or worse for self-defense?
Naaaah
Serrated might have a slightly higher chance to snag on clothing so I’d personally stick with single/double edges without serrations
I have almost all of those, don't have the drop forged knife............yet!
What about the Dropped forged?
I have wanted the safe keeper 3 since they came out. Now that they are discontinued they are near impossible to find. I keep checking forums and eBay. So far decades later no luck. One day........
i have a safe keeper 2 bought it for use in combat

Oso. Shame that you can't edit posts...
Thank you for your business and support! Stay sharp my friend!
I have both CS Safe Makers... they are very deadly
Thank you sir, it's useful.
Wish the clips on the sheaths could be positioned for scout carry. Only thing wrong with them.
I'm just saying my go to fighting knife would be push dagger with nice serrations.
how it is the tang on those?
Why isn't Cold Steel producing these anymore? They are all on back-order
Great review!

I think these are all illegal in California right?
Right
I have a little push blade and i just wanna know if its illegal to carry them, i live in new jersey btw
Stick with a folder. NJ has too many strange laws.
This is nice hardware! Why are push knives illegal in the UK, for crying out loud?
twentington because some governments see these as only weapons and even though they can be used in self defense they only think of what COULD happen if someone with ill intent had one
It’s banned here
Because they don't want people to overthrow the government.
wow
the prices from 10 years ago doubled.
why flat on one side and beveled on the other?

sheathes are soft. scabbards are hard.
I just sharpend one off These push knife

With a nail file
Worked great
IT just Broke the edges and glass fiber just showed out like IT was hair sticking out
So now i cant fix IT
Thx. Dick
Sebbe W Try fixing it with some very fine grit sandpaper.
My favourite knife design.
Big blade, small handle, outstanding grip.
Good for most tasks including defense.
But the law happened soo....fuck.
Allah support to you work

tom jackson your point...? Also try drawing your firearm while being stabbed by a push dagger.
My point? Don't bring a knife to a gun fight, especially in a state where the results of possessing both are the same.
I already knew what you see a knife as a substitute for, and I suspect you have a tiny knife.
Go do your homework and come back when you grow up.
tom jackson nice strawman you have there, how about you go and ask your local police how they see the threat of knives.
I don't need to ask anyone, I know.
Can any Indian buy it
Best ! But i live in Germany , and Germany , and the Cops .....you know 🐃4 me is it self Difense
