i seriously wanna do this, how'd you's go with the wiring? was it easy compared to what the forums were saying? the wiring is all that's stopping me from doing the swap. also, WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GET THE STRUT BRACE
+Bradley Felschow Hey mate, wiring ain't too bad, I took the easy way out an paid a shop to do it for me, as I had a Microtech LT-10s ecu with 4 ignition coils installed, and was a little over my head at the time, cost $800 AUD to wire it in Strut Brace was just one I saw on ebay, made a ton of difference in handeling and really helped with the launches
Bradley Felschow Hey again mate, sorry for the late reply There are a few different GE engines out there (which I'm sure you know ;-) mine is just a rebuilt gen 1 out of st162 celica, got it for $1200 complete with loom and ecu. If you shop around and find a old rusted out celica you should be able to get all the parts for around that price range. If you really lucky you can score a smashed up rav4 which has the red top BEAMS, best fwd conversion. As for PCD, if you use the stock box you will be fine, for non turbo set ups the stock box is good and lighter than the turbo box (e153) out of an MR2 which is what I'm upgrading too Where are you located anyway? Thanks for your interest
Hi Bebo, Look me up on Facebook, I have a full photo diary showing you step by step - I will be honest I skipped the wiring and paid a professional to wire in an aftermarket ecu, an LT10s Microtech Welcome mate ;-)
Hey Bradley, The 162 is the first fwd Celica, also available in awd (st165) with the 3sgte Beam fits easily, except the black top beams as its designed for north-south rwd set up from the Altezza I'm at the opposite side of the country, Darwin :-)
If you keep getting that starter motor lock up, bridge a relay directly to the starter motor from the battery. I had the same problem.
+Joshua M Thanks mate
