Understanding Lawn Fertilizer | GREENTRX Fertilizer | Earthway Broadcast Spreader

- Today we're discussing GREENTRX granular fertilizer and briefly reviewing the Earthway EV-N-SPRED broadcast spreader. I decided to switch up my fertilizer of choice this year and picked up a few bags of GREENTRX from my local Ewing Irrigation and Landscape Supply Store. So far I've been very pleased with the results. I'm actually using last year's 16-1-2 analysis. The 3 numbers on a bag of fertilizer represent the Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium percentages in the bag. Those 3 macronutrients are important in maintaining a healthy lawn. GREENTRX also contains 2% iron which will give your grass a deep dark green color. The EV-N-SPRED is Earthway's answer to the Scott's residential broadcast spreaders. It is lightweight, has 3 openings in the hopper, and provides a dependable, even application.

Great video! I needed help converting scott's to earthway. Appreciate it!
Great info! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Nice warm up
Loving this rain in the last few days!
Amen! Because I’m fully prepared for the 3-4 month period without any rain we’ll have soon haha
@@LawnInsider Get your water from SAWS? I was so worried about water restrictions that I put drip irrigation under my entire front yard of TifTuf Bermuda. Then I put in 200 gallons of water barrels and hooked up a mini spinklers system to that to supplement my irrigation in the backyard. Fun fact, Drip Irrigation has no restrictions :)
No sir I’m with NBU
@@LawnInsider Ah. And I'm using a Scotts Elite spreader and flagship in the backyard (Zoysia) and all liquid stuff (Greenpunch 18-0-1) in the front (TifTuf).
I just got this spreader today will see how good it works over the weekend
Let me know!
Hey! It’s great to hear all fellow Texas lawn enthusiasts, I’m in San Antonio and have Bermuda love it. I do use Anderson pgf balance and the beginning of season then pgf complete for most of the growing season. Some liquid fertilizer also same 16-4-8 just curious do you like Anderson or what’s your go to fertilizer?
I’m not super loyal to any particular brand or analysis. I usually try to get something that has a little iron in it, and aside from that, just try to get the biggest bang for my buck! This year I’m using GreenTRX.
Using PGF Complete and an Echo RB 60 spreader
Nice! Even this little Earthway throws the product further than I’m used to! Haha
What spreader setting did you use? I have the Earthway 2050P.
I have an smaller Earthway and a cheap one from Lowes. Sta-Green.
Scotts makes many spreaders. What spreader type is +10?
I think a lot of them have a standardized number system. But I think the “default” Scott’s spreader would be the EdgeGuard.
How do you space your passes? 5-6 ft?
I would say that's a good ballpark figure. I just pay attention to wherever the product landed on my last pass and adjust accordingly.
I have th same spreader. Only complaint is that it seems to spread so wide that the fertilizer bounces off the tires and go's into my shoes.
I does really chunk the fertilizer in a wide swath. Way wider than my other spreader.
Throwin down Flagship with a Titan spreader
Nice Kyle! Bet you get some nice results!
What seed did you use?
No seed. Tifway 419 sod laid by the builder.
Dam ok. I'm here in central texas also. Just cleared my whole backyard and almost ready to lay seed down. Wut would u recommend for this area? We are looking at the tifway 419..
@@adriangutierrez7899 I have Tifway 419 that was laid by the builder. If you're looking for a good quality bermuda seed check out Arden 15.
