- should you buy a Lesco Rotary Spreader? In my opinion I truly think you will be well pleased with this spreader. now this is for model number 092807 which is the 50lb one. this video is mainly an unboxing and I do a small comparision with my Prizelawn CBR spreader which was bought out by Earthway.so if you are asking that question what is a good lawn spreader, i think you will like this review to help answer that question.

Good morning BYD just wanna say thank you for that up close and personal review on the washers,I really appreciate it and at the end of the day I love my Lesco spreader and yes price may be high but you get what you pay for. So yes I would buy that spreader and I highly recommend

Site One will nail the homeowner when it comes to cost. You get a better deal if you are an official lawn company. The SS version with the edge guard is really nice.

I have a Lesco spreader I bought back in 2002. It's still throwing seed and fert today. Frame is getting a little rust here and there but damn I made my money back first season with it.

nice spreader you forgot the outside washers and the punched hole in the right handle put a rubber grommet to seal it from fertilizer inside the handle and rust out
tim freeman well the problem with that was when I tried it that way the carter pin holes did not line up and honestly those instructions sucked.
Many thanks for this video, made the assembly process much easier, since instructions needs much improvement.

Good video, if you want it to spread better install a permagreen ( breakthru) agitator and get one of my custom remote third hole cable slide kits that are on ebay.

just got my lesco spreader. thanks for the video and tips on set up. I see what you mean with the wheels. I don't understand why only one cotter pin locks through the axle. Basically, only one wheel drives the axle that turns the propeller shaft. The other wheel is just along for the ride. It would seem to me that it would be more durable to have both wheels turning the axle. This is where my last piece of junk Scotts Deluxe spreader broke.
Ross, you wouldn't be able to turn the spreader very easily if both wheels were "drive" wheels. If both were attached to the axle, the axle would always be turning, thus making a turn hard. By having a idler wheel, it allows you to pivot in either direction. Hope that makes sense.

thanks. I figured that out after looking a little closer at it. unfortunately the spreader broke on my first use, so it joins my collection of broken spreaders.

Go with the breakthru agitator. It breaks up chunks that the Z agitator doesn't.

Hello, I’m new to your channel. Great videos but I have questions. How do you calibrate the spreader with the green keys that come with the spreader. The owners manual Instructions are confusing. It states to insert the even number and make sure it’s tight and then what lol? Can you make a video?

BYD, I’m wanting to purchase a new push fertilizer spreader. I’m considering one of these Lesco spreaders. Just watched your video. I have just under an acre, around 35,000 square feet. Will only use it on my yard. Should I get the 50lb or 80lb spreader size?
I’m leaning more towards the 50lb because it’s cheaper and maybe easier to handle. I normally spread in sections of my lawn.
Some folks say to get a
Special agitator with the Lesco too. Not sure guess would be extra cost?

Matthew McCord 35k is a lot. An 80lb would work well. But things to consider is the weight of the 80 vs 50 especially if you have inclines and declines in the lawn. 80lb is bigger also so space in storage. Are the products your buying gonna have lesco settings? The echo brand is not on any lawn care products so you’ll have to figure out how to calibrate the settings. A lesco spreader will probably outlast you. The echo brand is more affordable though. If you can find a site one landscape store go there and you can see and feel the lesco 50 or 80 before you buy. Ask the clerk to help you ( beware that they probably don’t know anything about there own product) kinda why I made this video 👍🏾

Hello Mr. BYD: Hoping you can give some advice. We bought the same 2 gallon Scotts sprayer you have but we do not know how much Quali Pro Prodiamine we need to put in for 2800 square feet. Can you help us? I'm going to ask around in the meantime.
Playmate Inmiami simple, round that off to 3k. Add .40. Per 1k. Per 1 gallon of water. So you’ll need to do 2 separate apps. First app, add 1 gal of water then add .80 oz Prodiamine then add one more gallon. Shake good, pressurize. Spray first 2k evenly. Once empty add 1/2 f of water, add .40 Prodiamine then 1/2gallon water 💦 shake, pressurize then finish other 800 sq ft. Water in and you are done. Repeat this process Feb 15th and you’ll have your coverage and max app for the year. 👍🏾

I found a lesco 5o lb spreader in trash. But it only has 1 big hole in hopper instead of 3 small holes. Is this an older model?

I'm sure it's a nice spreader but I don't see it worth the $300 cost. I'd stick with my Earthway 2170. 100# capacity, larger air tires, and their Ev-N-Spread edge guard system. Only paid $179 for it. Spend the money I saved on torn bags of Milo. LOL.
