Sanji's support of Usopp during Water 7/Enies Lobby becomes even more touching when you learn of Sanji's full backstory of him being abused and disowned by his family for being weak. I wouldn't be surprised if Sanji saw a lot of himself in Usopp during that arc. Sanji was like cool older brother looking out for their younger brother during that arc.
I gotta disagree on him being the most herlic. He certainly has heroic moments. Like when he acts, despite being terrified, and helps them all come out on top. But he also has history of running away instead of fighting. He is a coward and Usopp knows this. He is sometimes very heroic though. Much more so as the series progresses. It's part of his character to progress from a weak coward, to being a brave warrior of the sea like his father. And I'd say this is coming to be true slowly but surely.
@@kyle10590 I agree. Usopp is definitely slowly becoming the hero he's always dreamed to be. Putting myself in his shoes, it's scary to imagine not having any power to rely on, but only sheer will.

It's hard to pick a favorite straw hat, but Usopp always had a soft spot in my heart ever since the Arlong Park arc, and that spot has been sealed since Little Garden and his promise to become a brave warrior of the sea and visit Elbaf. I can relate to him in a way since I am not the strongest nor the bravest person around, when compared to everyone around me. This video was great and really explains Usopp as a character, and his growth as a character throughout the series well. Other channels tend to hype up and focus more on the more prominent and stronger members of the crew, leaving characters like Usopp and Chopper behind. Yes. Usopp will always be one of the weakest, if not be the weakest, member of the crew, and that's all right. I really believe that Usopp's character can be fully realized once we reach Elbaf, and I finally get Usopp's character growth that I have been excited for since Little Garden. I kinda went on a tangent there- my bad lol. At the end of the day I really rely to his struggles and his character. After all, he is just human in a world where giants and other super humans exist.

Of all the characters' dreams in the entire series, Usopp is the closest to actually achieving it, he even might have. That's my favorite part about him, he IS living out his dream, which is a journey and not a destination. Even in his earliest ventures, I'd still say of all of them, just having the courage to fight his weakness already makes him a great warrior. hey, im a huge fan of usopp. probably the biggest ive ever known. usopp means the world to me, and i love analyzing his character and his acts no matter how goofy he will get. hes probably my favorite fictional character of all time. also, on the whole "do what you can" lesson, usopp preached the same thing to chopper shortly after chopper joined the crew. it was something that chopper kept in mind throughout alabasta, especially throughout the mr. 4 and mrs. merry christmas fight. those words resonated within chopper, just like im sure sanji's words resonated through usopp. its funny how usopp had to be told something he knew well in order to succeed. never following his own advice. i relate to that heavily, too. thank you for this video, man! its wonderful to see people actually putting across who usopp actually is. i cannot express to you how much it frustrates me when fans write him off as annoying and useless, because he isnt.
What people fail to understand is that Usopp is a sniper and snipers are weak in a close distance, which is most battles taking place in one piece, if Usopp had distance in his battles, he could be a good fighter, we saw what he can do in the Enies Lobby arc with distance, even if they were just some generic marines. people just choose to believe that the only way a character is useful is if they are strong in close combat. Lots of people also ignore the support characters do, like how Usopp made Nami's Clima Tact and let's be honest, if Nami didn't have that, I don't think she would stand a chance against Califa.
Zoro, Luffy, Franky, and depending on the arc Sanji has best range in close and far combat, so it makes no logical sense as to why Brooks, Robin, and Chopper only being good at short distances in combat whereas Nami, Usopp, and Jinbe are only good at far distances in combat.
I would like to comment that Usopp only ran away from Sugar because he had forgotten all about Robin (literally) and he had no idea what happened to Franky. Usopp was the character who was willing to fight and protect his friends even at the cost of his own life, as we saw when he helped fight Kizaru to save Zoro (you even showed the clip). Dressrosa is an arc where Usopp couldn't allow others to bear the weight of his lies because he realized it was cruel so he forced himself to bear that weight in order to give himself courage. Otherwise, perfect video.

bravery is overcoming fear. if you have no fear, you're not truly brave. Usopp has the most fear. once he overcomes all of it, he'll truly be the bravest.
Does that mean that after a brave person stops fearing, he is not brave anymore because there is no fear to overcome anymore? I wouldn't mind as a definition, but that means brave people stop being brave at some point if they are truly able to overcome their fear.
SiMe no because you never get rid of your fear. You’re just constantly overcoming it. There are people that are not afraid of anything. It doesn’t take an ounce of courage for them to jump into danger. Just because usopp has jumps into danger all the time and will eventually because used to it, doesn’t mean he’s no longer afraid.
you cant say that luffy or zoro or franky arent afraid when they fight, there are many moments they continue to fight because they need to save their friends. usop has courage but tbh before the timeskip much less than chopper or nami

Recently (within the past 3 years or so), I have come to think of Ussop as the strongest Strawhat, you helped define my felling of this in a way I can tell others. He only has his wits, and well trained muscles and reflexes having no real nat talent outside of badass sniper skills. Yet unlike even Nami he is always limited by his items and wit having nothing else but when it came time for Dressrosa, who was seen as the largest threat by a seriously crafty and cool headed foe like Dofy... it was not Luffy or Law that had the highest bounty was it? No, Ussop was called God and given the largest Bounty. I am begining to think that he may acquire a similar feat in Wano...

He isn't a powerhouse who can solve his problems by punching through everyone he meets . . . and he shouldn't be that. he's the guy for outside-the-box solutions and picking people off from afar.

Usopp is my favourite character. But I would've mentioned it was also relevant in Syrup Village that he felt partially responsible. Having said that everything else was spot on!
That feeling when you forget who you support on patreon, then hear your name at the end of what I thought was another video on my feed. Glad to see the one piece content coming, real good stuff!
Gold as your tongue may be. you cannot convince me that ussop challenging luffy to own the ship which was already going to be abandoned was not pointless. he really could have just skipped the fight and took the ship. all he really did in the end,was get beat up over in inanimate object. putting said object over the lives of his crew. he was a fool who was in the wrong, he even knew this and still did it anyway... - that aside, really well thought out video, fantastic job!
Thanks for reminding me about what Usopp is going to do at the end of the story: return home to a hot noblewoman's bedroom and tell her stories of his adventures that are even more far-fetched than his lies.
Some people just dont get it. Usopp is usually a coward because most instances he's facing a threat closeby and he's ill prepared. He's a sniper and a goddamn planner. But he still does shit right?
Another scene in Enies Lobby that fits the theme are also Nami using her thieving abilities to steal a key from Kumadori even when she was outmatched or argueably Usopp swaying the giants to his side.
Usopps gonna be the next ‘gon freakout’ where someone gives a terrible reason on their adventure and how they’ve become the strongest ‘warrior’ and he’ll just breakdown and laugh then bam strongest person in the one piece universe
Folks sleep on Usopp, but his foes are massively stronger than him physically. Good thing willpower is a valid thing in One Piece. Anytime you see Usopp losing, it's usually against an army, the main antagonist, or some inhuman beast with monstrous strength. Usopp will rise above.
He might not have beat Luffy but he sure fucked him up real good Had to stop at the Thriller Bark stuff to avoid spoilers but I can awesome video so far. I actually even teared up a bit during the analysis
I think he thought that when usopp and sogeking switched clothes and swapped places during when rocketman crashed. When the mask fell off it was usopp’s face, because they switched places
I have admired ussop since that purple manga cover :) and the adventure started. Not only when he beat a fish man with a flaming egg but miss Groundhog Day “Chopper there comes a time when a man has to fight! And that time comes when someone makes fun of his best friends dream”
great video, just some suggestions for the next one: music, the editing lacked a bit and the voice over seemed choppy at times. Great video, interesting subject matter, and great writing-wise. Not trying to judge you, just want to see you approve since your one of my favourite if not favourite youtuber.
Lysop, the brave hero with the power to make lies come true and to envision the future. Not to confuse with the mysterious sogeking of niper island, a different person.
He was going to abandon all his friends and innocent civilians at dressrosa despite promising to help and save them all. He had just finished getting super buff and skilled with his slingshot and as he heard their cries, he ran. Up until that moment I thought there was a chance for redemption but that was irredeemable.

I never noticed that parallel between Spandam and Usopp but it makes a tremendous amount of sense
Dude these videos are so GOOD. I just found out about them yesterday and already watched 4 in a row. These are BOMB
-he was still someone who could be relied on, even if he had trouble relying on himself.
Ussop Is one of my favorite characters in one piece because of his development.
You always blow my mind with your videos. Most videos I've watched only reassert my own observations upon a particular subject in the series, but your content never fails to amaze me with your fresh perspectives.
I'm not sure if I feel like crying because I love usopp so much or I needed to hear a lot of this but thanks.
Also you're pumping out videos really quick lately, they're still just as good but be sure not to rush yourself.
One of my favourite characters in fiction. Definitely my favourite in One Piece
Low key usopp is easily most underrated adaptation of Pinocchio, the anime sucked asss but damn this manga fire
What do you dislike about the anime pre-timeskip?
Huh?
y u bating
Guess he wants attention
anime pre timeskip ok but manga always fire but the ost good af
Okay so I almost thought this was an april fisrt vid but Usopp deserves this appreciation. Thank you.
Happy birthday Ussop : )
He was the MVP of Ennies Lobby, along with Franky.
He saved Robin : D
Gold as your tongue may be. you cannot convince me that ussop
challenging luffy to own the ship which was already going to be
abandoned was not pointless.
he really could have just skipped the fight and took the ship. all he
really did in the end,was get beat up over in inanimate object. putting
said object over the lives of his crew.
he was a fool who was in the wrong, he even knew this and still did it
anyway...

that aside, really well thought out video, fantastic job!
This is the first video I've ever seen of yours and it might be one of my favorite one piece videos I've seen on UA-cam
This Video Is Worthy Of Usopp. What An Incredible Deconstruction And Reconstruction Of A Fan Favorite Of One Piece
that's why Usopp is my favorite character in One Piece
he's so relatable
This is actually super awesome wtf
This is exactly why Usopp is my favourite One Piece character
The best adaptation of Pinocchio :)
He’s a Miles Gloriosus (TV trope)
I live for these kinds of analysis videos. Great job!
I'm loving all the videos today lol
Always nice to find a video about your favorite characters... Thanks.
Usopp: The Hero we didn't know we deserved.
Thanks for reminding me about what Usopp is going to do at the end of the story: return home to a hot noblewoman's bedroom and tell her stories of his adventures that are even more far-fetched than his lies.
I really liked that you did not use some cheap music in the background. I always find that distracting.
Can't wait for the Elbaf Arc !!
This was a fucking great video on my boy USOPP! Definitely want more 👍
really good video, you did a 180 on my impressions on usopp
Really nice analysis/summary.
I legit teared up
You should do more character analysis. They are quite good and enjoyable. New subscriber
Amazing tier
This was so informative. Thank you.
A well deserved video for our lord and savior God Usopp
That moment u think about the whole scenario behind his wanted poster. The rest is history.
Great work keep it up man!
Great video man
Usopps gonna be the next ‘gon freakout’ where someone gives a terrible reason on their adventure and how they’ve become the strongest ‘warrior’ and he’ll just breakdown and laugh then bam strongest person in the one piece universe
And that will be his last lie coming to truth, the strongest warrior
Folks sleep on Usopp, but his foes are massively stronger than him physically. Good thing willpower is a valid thing in One Piece. Anytime you see Usopp losing, it's usually against an army, the main antagonist, or some inhuman beast with monstrous strength. Usopp will rise above.
He might not have beat Luffy but he sure fucked him up real good
Had to stop at the Thriller Bark stuff to avoid spoilers but I can awesome video so far.
I actually even teared up a bit during the analysis
awesome vid man :D
Wait usopp was sogeking??!!
IKR WAS IT STATED??!!
Dude it's a minor error chill
What no Sogeking is from Sniper Island, which is in your heart
Of course not, Craftsdwarf was tripping when he said that. Biggest mistake of the video. Bombing till he said that.
I think he thought that when usopp and sogeking switched clothes and swapped places during when rocketman crashed. When the mask fell off it was usopp’s face, because they switched places
Fighting an impossible fight isn't heroic, it's stupid.
I have admired ussop since that purple manga cover :) and the adventure started. Not only when he beat a fish man with a flaming egg but miss Groundhog Day “Chopper there comes a time when a man has to fight! And that time comes when someone makes fun of his best friends dream”
You’re forgetting the time I toppled Giant Jack with naught but a fistful of Rubber Bands!
great video, just some suggestions for the next one: music, the editing lacked a bit and the voice over seemed choppy at times.
*only glances at video title*
*starts crying*
Dressrosa is when I finally realized I like Usopp
I was waiting for the joke the whole time
