Dire Straits at their best!! I have cried tears of joy listening to this song, and I'm a long time fan since first hearing this band in 1979! The tears are an appreciation of Mark Knopfler, his sublime guitar playing and music... a gift from God for us to enjoy, my life has been richer for having Dire Straits songs a part of it A big thanks to all the outstanding musicians who have played and contributed to this great band!!
You just listened to human perfection, it doesn't come our way much..... All in 'the zone' at the same time..... It's a gift to us(& I imagine to them too!)
Romeo and Juliet is brilliant as is telegraph road from this concert. Honestly it’s hard to go wrong with dire straits tunnel of love is wonderful and do the studio version of brothers in arms it’s fantastic.
Knopfler is truly a brilliant songwriter and guitarist. Some interesting trivia . . .he wrote "Private Dancer" . . . one of Tina Turner's biggest hits.
I haven't told this to any of the other 'reactors' to this fine tune, but: The best explanation for the lyrics to "Sultans of Swing", is that it is basically a song about being a musician. It is fantastic that it 'connects' with so many people.
The studio version of this is one of the best songs for cruising. It's nice that you enjoyed it so much.🤗 What I love about this clip is how much fun they're having. A job like that wouldn't suck. Shout out to the production crew. The filmography during a LIVE concert is incredible. 🤩
What a normal reaction (to this performance)! I've heard this song several times and still get an emotional overload every time I hear the final guitar solo.
One of the best reactions to this performance on You Tube and I've watched a lot. To see someone really feel great live music like this is worth more than ten thousand words explaining stuff. Genuine, real, honest emotion, how we felt we first watched this performance. Mark Knopfler channels the same far away Galaxy as David Gilmour. Both release my soul to a glorious place.
watching you weep with tears of joy made my day. it was my first reaction to watching this performance. if i let myself go, i will tear up every time they hit that cool down and bring it back with that guitar. an incredible performance.
This played on the radio (studio version) as a group of friends and I drove to St. George Island, Florida in 1979. When it finished we stopped dancing in the car and someone said, who the F is this band ? Heard it play on our huge radio on the beach that week and our little rented bungalow. Bought the album when I got home. Oh to be 22 again. My departed dad used to say....Youth is so wasted on the young. We had the world at our feet. I still get together with these friends on the beach. We travel in from all over I love this version ❣️ And now we can play it with a few taps on a device.
I just can't like your reaction enough :) Simply because it is like mine, and I remember that even after 35 years or so. Like overwhelming feeling of joy and good emotions. Like the best of humanity. Thank you.
There is a version from 1996 with the original members of his band that he still records with that is not far off. I think it is from "An Evening With Mark Knopfler", a little bluesier phrasing both vocally and with his guitar but absolutely comparable. Most of his popular songs have at least as many iterations as he has had concert tours which is probably to be expected over the course of 4 decades and counting.
@@antonytye3484 That;s near enough antony:) Actially, though,of course, you are right, they learned their Art in South East London pubs near me, back in the day like Squeeze, Boy George and Kate Bush.
