I love that you've shared about your scar! Some people can be so ashamed by their scars (my mum included, after hysterectomy), but I personally find them so beautiful. I'm far from considering having children, but I had my appendix removed about two years ago, and I'm so happy that the scar hasn't faded away. I think theyre really cute!

I agree, it's not as cosmetic a place to have a scar but I'm really attatched to the stitches scar on my foot, silvery with age. It's like carrying your story on your skin. It wouldn't be my foot without it.
Our bodies aren't meant to be perfect.

i've been watching your channel for almost 10 years and I don't know if I've ever left a comment! Either way, thank you endlessly for always documenting reproductive health and processes. I think I'm a few years older than you and you have taught me so much about how my body functions! I remember buying a menstrual cup for the first time and using your videos about them to decide on which one to get. Big love to you and your family from the USA, happy 2024!

I had 2, one emergency and one planned. They were only 14 months apart as well so I wasn't in the best shape going in to the second one.
Both recoveries were an absolute breeze compared to what I expected. I was home a little over 24 hours after each birth. I didn't take any of the painkillers and really didn't feel like I needed them. I'm well aware this isn't everyone's experience but you always get to hear the horror stories, nobody is out here sharing their positive stories.

I had an emergency csection for my daughter nearly 8 years ago. She was breach and I had undiagnosed pre-eclampsia, but in all it was a positive experience. My healing and recovery had a rocky start because I was reacting to the pain medication, i spent half of my second day vomiting uncontrollably until they stopped all medications. After that was resolved everything went very smoothly, I was up and walking around without any problems the following day, and wasn't taking anything stronger than regular ibuprofen and paracetamol. Our little girl was 37+1 so technically term but she was a tiny 2.47kg, sorry I don't know the imperial and now she is a strong healthy kid who has more than caught up with her peers.

Both me and my S.O. were born by C-Section, and I am also walking impaired, so a C-section is definitely something that is gonna come up when I get pregnant. This video made me MUCH less scared of this option, so thank you!

I'm so happy to hear after a year you've healed so beautifully and theres no numbing at your scar! By the way your scar looks amazing after only year!
It took years for my scar to finally lose the numbing! I’ve had 2 c-section one being an extremely traumatic emergency, recovery with a million complications 9 days in hospital! Which i won’t go into detail so i don’t scare new Mama’s🥰! However my sons c-section was very much relaxed gentle c-section because it was planned...We had a few complications but not because of the c-section it’s self!
I hope you and your beautiful lil family had wonderful 1st Birthday for you adorable cutie patootie 🎉❤ 🥳🥰
    Love from Ottawa, Canada

You are lucky to have this experience, my baby was 5 kilo and I knew she is big and asked for C-section and I was refused , so I had at the end emergency c-section, and they repeat same thing with second baby didn’t let me have plan c-section, I wad discharged next day with lots of pain even they didn’t keep me for two days , and didn’t let my mum stay with me . I live in west London and from middle east, suppose race matter in how the Nhs serve women.

it’s very interesting to see other people’s abdominal scars. Although I’ve never had children I have a similar scar after having some rather large (the largest one was the size of a melon 😅) uterine fibroids removed in July.

Wow such a great experience! Good for you both❤ I am scared of medication, of any medical intervention or hospitals in general...I am so glad I could give birth naturally out of hospital and It to be great. I was up and cooking at day 3 since I felt so good (bad idea! Stay in bed to heal&bond!)

This video came at the most perfect time! I have just been told I am likely needing a c-section as my baby is breech and refusing to move! Thank you!

I loved my c section, I requested one after five days of trying to be induced and still not being in labour. They noted it as an emergency due to failed induction but it was technically an elective and it was so calm and chilled, it was amazing x

I didn't know you were so sick while you were pregnant. I'm so glad you and your baby are okay. That is so scary.
I know what those kind of symptoms are like and live with them, I don't know if I could handle being pregnant as well. I fainted recently and I woke up with my dad fussing over me, at first just my hearing, putting my coat under my head, it was so otherworldy to need to be tended to by the old man instead of the other way around.
My doctor has had a heart monitor put on me for a week that I am awaiting the results of, I think I have a form of dysautomia and I will probably need more tests. Also, related, I have no children and I have more bladder issues than you do, since I was a child actually, my nerves are naturally sensitive.
Although, I have heard you are more likely to have nerve damage/ incontinence with repeated C sections.

I had an emergency c section 5 years ago and mine is low like yours. I still have numbness if I touch it but the scar has healed well and is no longer pink. I'm glad you have a good experience as I did not. But that's cause mine wasn't planned.

I had a vaginally birth and couldn't breathe. Had my son and had a 3rd degree tear which resulted in me been wheeled into theatre afterwards and sewn up by a male drs with my legs up in stirrups. The nurse then kept checking my stitches by shoving a finger into me even a few weeks later. So I can see why c section would be better. I'd defo choose it if I had another baby

I had an emergancy c section under GA 24 years ago. C section was no where near as bad as I thought it would be. If I'd have had a second child id have been happy to have a c section but under some kind of epidural etc as I'd like to be awake. My recovery was good scar healed well and was nearly invisible within a few years. Although mine was an emergency my scar is also very low down.

I had an emergency Csection 28 yrs ago and i still have quite a large area of numb skin, this is because some of the nerves in that area were cut during the surgery but its not a problem..... A small price to pay for saving my son....Csection births are not easy to Recover from but can still be an amazing experience 😊

If you dont mind me asking ❤ did you do any sort of "diet/weightloss/excercises" after your c section? Your tummy looks really toned and firm Xx

I had a c-section, it wasn’t planned nor was it emergent. We made the decision after I had stopped dilating. I had a burning sensation that I could feel while I was opened up that felt pretty intense, but it didn’t last. I’m actually happy I had a c-section, the thought of a vaginal birth kind of intimidated me!

It's interesting to see anyone else c section scar. Mine is also quite low down definitely covered by my underwear. I had a semi planned c section, so there was also no rush getting baby out

I was terrified to have a c-section because I didn’t want another scar. I had 3 kids vaginally only to still get a scar cuz I had surgery to remove one of my ovaries! It’s right next to my appendix scar so it looks like a C-section scar anyway! Oh well! I’m trying castor oil to fade it a bit. You look great btw!

I'm jealous of your scar. After my first it was wonky and because it opened, I had a dip. With my second, I spoke to the surgeon and he said that he had to correct issues (two different hospitals) but its still not very pretty lol.
The first was an emergency c-section and the second was an elected csection. Second time round, I healed so much quicker and didn't have any infections.

I'm surprised by your scar because the only point of reference I have is my mom's who had two c-sections in the 80s.
