Soto is great but we don’t need him and shouldn’t want him, Teoscar embraced LA and wants to be here, plus he came in clutch during the regular season when we needed someone to carry the team during the time Mookie was hurt, and when Ohtani and Freddie weren’t producing

Just so you know I’ve been watching baseball since the mid 1960’s. Was 13 when they won the World Series in 1969. So I have seen almost all of the Mets seasons. This past one, like for all Mets fans was so much fun! I do think this offseason is one of the most important ones in their history as it can really set them up for a lot of exciting years to come. I think Steve Cohen is thinking the same thing! At least I hope so!

Ladies, thank you for both previously answering my question/ comment and following up with this episode. As far as Soto goes, you can have him. Being a fan of the Blue Crew, we saw plenty of his fielding while with the Madres. He's good at the plate, but not all that. Pass. Reference Manaea, again we saw plenty of him with the Hated Ones (Giants) and the Madres. Dude was very inconsistent and a HR magnet. Pass; you can have him. Reference Alonso, I'd tell the Mets to learn from TWO major mistakes the Blue Crew made. We gave up on both Adrian Beltre & Paul Konerko way too soon. We all know what they ended up doing after leaving LA. I'd keep him though obviously not at stupid money. Which brings me to Teo. Yes I "like" him and yes I'd like to keep him, but at what cost? He put up those numbers since he had protection up & down the lineup. I don't see him doing that if he's da-guy somewhere else. Personally, I'd finally give our farm system's top guy a shot (ladies, check out Dalton Rushing). He's our best prospect since Beltre & Konerko. As far as FA position players go, I'd go after Willy Adames instead. He's younger and a lot more consistent than Teo. Or an even cheaper option would be Ha-Seong Kim from the Madres. Blue Crew have parted ways with fan favorites before like Justin Turner, Bellinger, and Seager (that one I question) so I can see them parting ways with Teo if he doesn't come at a reasonable price. Again, I'd rather go with Rushing. Lastly, SP issues. Flaherty was a rental picked up with 2 minutes left at the trade deadline. Too inconsistent to pay top dollar so pass. Buehler has been injured far too many times since being drafted out of Vandy. 1-2 yr contract as a reasonable price otherwise pass. Same goes for Kershaw. I'd rather sign Fried (we need a LHSP) or try and trade for Crochet (again, LHSP). Btw, your show's name reminds me of what I ask myself when I watch my Raiders: Why am I a Raiders fan, except I add a few expletives. Keep it up ladies and congrats on the show!

As a Dodgers fan, I was surprised that the front office didn’t extend Buehler the qualifying offer. It showed me they don’t trust his postseason results as much as I thought they would and don’t value him as much as I thought they would. I’ll be very curious to see what his market is.
Honestly, for a team that is always a postseason contender, we shouldn’t let Walker Buehler go. He has just shown that he is a big postseason pitcher, and if we want to run it back for next season, we’re gonna need pitchers like him on the team. Now whether or not we decide to go for a Max Fried or Corbin Burnes, that remains to be seen. As for the Mets, I really don’t know if Soto is a good move. Yes, he a good bat, but he’s also a defensive liability, and when it mattered most in the WS he didn’t get the job done. He beat up on the guardians, he beat up on our low leverage bullpen arms, but has he shown that he can walk it off for a team in a big moment? I’m not sure if he’s that guy anymore.

The Dodgers are going after Roki Sasaki and that might mean Walker Buehler or Flaherty will end up the odd man out (assuming we get our 1000 injured pitchers, including Ohtani, back). They probably didn’t extend to allow the market to set the price for those two.
Dodgers fan here. Consensus is Dodgers did not want to pay Buehler $21M. He was not good in the regular season, and has had 2 Tommy John surgeries already.
I’d like Butane and Teo to come back, but I trust our front office to figure all that stuff out. We can’t always run the same exact team out there, much as we’d like, but Butane is a Dodger legend at this point, so I hope they can find the right agreement to bring him back. Teo has been a huge hit in LA, and a big fan favorite; not a lot of fans will tell you they’d rather have a guy like Soto, and I think it has a lot to do with perceptions about team chemistry and whatever. I have not liked him since he played for the Padres, but if he were in Dodger Blue, maybe I wouldn’t mind him so much 😂😂. I do hope he finds a good home, although I think a team like the Yankees might actually be better off without him, just given the other obvious shortcomings they have in the field. Mets might make more sense, just given the financial resources available, but I would hate to see Pete Alonso in pinstripes, as well 😢.
Dodgers fan here. Mets should go after Burns and Fried. Putting that much faith in Manaea is dangerous. Alonso would become the next Stanton on the Yankee.
I can see us consolidating assets and trading for Crochet. I would love that along with signing back Sean (our tribal chief), and Byrnes or Fried. Byrnes, Senga, Crochet, Manaya, Peterson. That’s the kind of rotation you need to compete for the pennent.

Honestly, for a team that is always a postseason contender, we shouldn’t let Walker Buehler go. He has just shown that he is a big postseason pitcher, and if we want to run it back for next season, we’re gonna need pitchers like him on the team. Now whether or not we decide to go for a Max Fried or Corbin Burnes, that remains to be seen. As for the Mets, I really don’t know if Soto is a good move. Yes, he a good bat, but he’s also a defensive liability, and when it mattered most in the WS he didn’t get the job done. He beat up on the guardians, he beat up on our low leverage bullpen arms, but has he shown that he can walk it off for a team in a big moment? I’m not sure if he’s that guy anymore.

The Dodgers are going after Roki Sasaki and that might mean Walker Buehler or Flaherty will end up the odd man out (assuming we get our 1000 injured pitchers, including Ohtani, back). They probably didn’t extend to allow the market to set the price for those two.
Dodgers fan here. Consensus is Dodgers did not want to pay Buehler $21M. He was not good in the regular season, and has had 2 Tommy John surgeries already.
I’d like Butane and Teo to come back, but I trust our front office to figure all that stuff out. We can’t always run the same exact team out there, much as we’d like, but Butane is a Dodger legend at this point, so I hope they can find the right agreement to bring him back. Teo has been a huge hit in LA, and a big fan favorite; not a lot of fans will tell you they’d rather have a guy like Soto, and I think it has a lot to do with perceptions about team chemistry and whatever. I have not liked him since he played for the Padres, but if he were in Dodger Blue, maybe I wouldn’t mind him so much 😂😂. I do hope he finds a good home, although I think a team like the Yankees might actually be better off without him, just given the other obvious shortcomings they have in the field. Mets might make more sense, just given the financial resources available, but I would hate to see Pete Alonso in pinstripes, as well 😢.
Dodgers fan here. Mets should go after Burns and Fried. Putting that much faith in Manaea is dangerous. Alonso would become the next Stanton on the Yankee.
I can see us consolidating assets and trading for Crochet. I would love that along with signing back Sean (our tribal chief), and Byrnes or Fried. Byrnes, Senga, Crochet, Manaya, Peterson. That’s the kind of rotation you need to compete for the pennent.

With Buehler, it is not a surprise. Dodgers think the $21M offer was too high. They may offer him a 2 yr contract at a lower value in year one with a player option.
