You may consider this blasphemous. But my approach to the World Series is that unless the Rays are involved where I want them to win as quickly as possible, I always root for more games for the excitement factor. So I hope this World Series goes 7 with the Dodgers winning because I can't root for the Yankees.😆
I'm not a Dodgers fan. I'm a Ohtani guy. Watching u ladies makes me believe there is a space for a feminine perspective for baseball. If funding is an issue, look for crowdfunding options many gamers resort to. Honestly think u guys have a future beyond Syracuse. Best of luck.
I just love watching you guys! I wish my Dodgers had a show like this, none of the Dodgers podcasts have had a free agency show anywhere near this good. Keep up the good work, I'm waiting for the next episode
I promise I'll watch all your videos even though you talk about the Mets and not my Dodgers. It's just awesome to listen to both of you talk ball. Keep it up 💪 You should really consider a second channel talking baseball in general. Either way! I'm your fan!
I'm a Dodgers fan and came across your channel during the NLCS. I thought I'd only watch a couple of minutes and ended up watching the whole thing! You girls are great. I've watched a few of your shows now. I'm also starting to understand the difference between the Yankees and Mets fanbases and how a Mets fan could never root for the Yankees. I hope the Mets have a blockbuster off-season, like signing Soto. It'd be good for baseball. Next season, I'm rooting for your Mets (when not playing the Dodgers).
I saw a comment elsewhere from an A’s fan who is loving the Dodgers beating the Yankees because it will annoy TF out of Giants fans. I freaking love baseball fandom.
Going to be sad next year though with the A's no longer in Oakland. Cannot imagine the Giants-A's rivalry being anywhere near as intense with the A's playing in Sacramento and ultimately Vegas.
U girls are killing it. Wish ur podcast the best. Hope ur team next year kills it in free agency and we have a rematch in the CS series. We will be waiting cuz our squad is only gonna be a lot better. GO DODGERS BABY!!!!!!
Jon Heyman is in Scott Boras pocket, which is why he leaked that the dodgers "are interested" in Juan Soto. As a Dodgers fan I don't see that happening and really do anticipate him signing with the Mets. Generational talent with him at his prime, he will age well and the Mets would be dangerous! Cohen won't be outbid.
You ladies should keep LAD in your future podcasts by introducing a series comparing the LAD and NYM through out the off and during season. Food for thought but I/we really appreciate your analysis and reactions. Best of Luck!
I agree with most player evaluations you have made except Winker. Those at bats should go to Ronnie Mauricio. His a switch hitter and from the left side of the plate he's a legit threat. I live in Syracuse and he scorches the ball
Juan Soto will be a great fits for the Mets I hope he signs with them I think my Dodgers need a really good arm to help the starting rotation problem than we have
I hope the Mets sign Soto. 🤞🏼. Judging (no pun intended) from some of the Yankees based podcasts, there might be a pretty good chance the Mets get him. Yeah, I’m not sure there’s really a spot for him on the Dodgers even though we would love to have him. Thanks again for the great episode!
Sam and Ash, As a Dodgers fan, admittedly I'm all about West Coast. However, the Mets have definitely earned a fan in me as far as any other NL team after watching them ball this season. I'll be pulling for them next season for sure. That said, we've gotten spoiled on the quality of the Dodgers farm system and we've seen the results. What's the current state of the Mets farm and how have they been drafting and retaining?
Farm system is in the best shape it's been in years, with some highly rated prospects knocking on the door: SS/CF Jett Williams (#1 draft pick 2022), OF Drew Gilbert (Verlander trade), SS/2B Louisangel Acuna (Scherzer trade), SP Brandon Sproat (drafted him twice!), OF Carson Benge #1 2024), 1B/RF Ryan Clifford (Verlander trade), and a slew of talented arms like SP Blade Tidwell, Jonah Tong, and Nolan McLean, plus a ton of high upside guys in the lower levels (SS Jeremy Rodriguez from the Tommy Pham trade looks like a steal).
Thanks for your perspective. You’ve been a great listen. I wish you had like how many years/money you would like to see for FA to come back. Other than that enjoy listening your insight on a team I don’t follow. Question: How would you feel if Alonso signed with the Yankees (I don’t know their farm status but they need a 1st basemen after watching the WS)? Keep up the great work and glad I found this podcast.
Definitely need a "why am i a baseball fan" pod!! (everyone knows the pain of Octobar baseball, you know, that moment your team loses and you're like... Fuck this sport)! Great work! 👍
I hope you see this post. Will check to see your next podcast. Los Angeles Dodgers World Champions. How they beat the Yankees so phenomenal. Hope the two of you will enjoy beating the Yankees. Take care Mets fans.
You root for The Dodgers...because of you ladies, I now root for The Metropolitans! Let's take shots to celebrate a game 5 win tonight for The World Series Champions!
Since you mentioned Scherzer, Verlander and other players still being paid by the Mets, you should know that every team has those in their payroll. On the flipside, it would be interesting to know if the Mets have players who are being paid other teams.
The hot stove is a very difficult time of the year. Determining who is coming and going via trades and/or free agency. And then there is the process of crunching the numbers salary wise to determine what is or is not affordable within the confines of the luxury tax. Assuming that is applicable to the team you are rooting for. As a TB Rays fan, I realize they are not in the same situation as the Mets and Yankees, who have substantially larger payrolls and overall budgets. And added to that is the added wrinkle, which is the tragedy of Hurricane Milton with the damage to the Trop. At this point, the stadium issue in determining whether the Trop will be ready to go by next spring and if not where they are playing in FLA is the #1 priority.
Another fantastic show I’m a little bit older but I think you need some classic Syracuse jerseys like a Carmelo Anthony basketball jersey and definitely a Donovan Mcnabb football jersey from Syracuse and since Ashley’s dad is a long time Mets fan time for a Daryl Strawberry jersey maybe? But great podcast again look fwd to the next one hopefully my Dodgers will have dispatched the Evil Empire of the East those Yankees from the Bronx lol
with the giants rebuilding, with many other high revenue teams maxed out (or close), the large number of top free agents, collapse in tv revenue (for many teams), how poorly long-term contracts have aged (which i think is relatively new), with owners listening to front office more b/c of analytics (my guess), i think we’re going to see much lower numbers than what we’re used to seeing.
I agree with everything you both are awesome but I'm alot hire than both on Inglesia impact .I think he is a huge impact player for us.He doesn't have alot of wear on him so age is irelevant .He has alot of juice left and signing him is very important to chemistry too.Everything else you both have my same thoughs nice job ladies.
I have my current desired roster list pinned on my X profile, if anyone wants to look, but out of Bader, Winker & Taylor, I would like to see TT come back, even though at first I was for Bader and I get why Mets fans want the noise maker Winker back, but I would prefer to have the quiet guy TT than the noise maker Winker, because TT has great skills in the outfield more compatible to Bader, where Winker is not even close, although he is a little better hitter. I just rather have our bench players be better in defense and that's why I also choose Iggy as the infield bench player I would most like to see return next year. In addition to the great vibes and impact he's had on other players... I could go on, but I won't stop, so I will end here. LGM!!
Loved the episode and agree with your assessments. I think that the Dedniel Núñez and Brooks Rayley injuries impact on the bullpen was bigger than expected, and maybe if they were available, things would have been different. Would you guys trade any current Met to make way for a younger player or a FA that you have an eye on? And which other Mets that have arbitration hearings or qualifying offers would you re-sign/let go?
Stanek has a long track record as an October beast; namely, with Tampa Bay and Houston. Winker would be great to retain, but he’d have to be willing to accept a platoon/bench/4th OF role; and if he gets multiple years and/or an everyday role elsewhere, he’s probably gone, unfortunately. Extending the qualifying offer to Manaea may help the Mets to ultimately re-sign him on a 2-3 year deal, but it’s a risk as we don’t know how his body will hold up longer term following his mechanical change. Would certainly like him back, though. The Mets need to trade for a true front line ace, as well. Perhaps Acuna and or a handful of other prospects could be dealt to land someone. Especially since this would make trying to bring Iglesias back more sensical. And 100% should attempt to get Walker Bueller on a 1-yr flyer. Although his recent October performances may have earned him a multi year deal.
The problem with Manaea, Severino & Quintana is they all pitched a lot more innings in 2024 vs. 2023. This tends to hurt their next season. Remember the Giants winning the WS every other year(2010, 2012, 2014) - due to pitching staff exhaustion.
My No.1 target is Garrett Crochet. I think he will win the Cy Young next year. My No. 2 target is Brent Rooker for DH (hit .290 vs. lefty & righty pitchers, 39 HRs, .927 OPS).
I have zero interest in the Mets. That being said as an outsider Mets should look at the margins. I get that the owner has almost unlimited funds but instead of looking for homeruns in free agency, getting scrappy, glue guys could really help. Obviously another top level starting pitcher would help. Rooting for you ladies.
I'm happy the Mets had a great season and proved a lot of doubters wrong. I don't trust Sevy, and they can get Winker to play DH if J.D. does hang it up (remember he started the season late too). They do need more bullpen arms that are consistent. Iglesias would be great to bring back he was a big spark plug. Pete needs to be back who else would play 1st and his defense has improved. Moving Vientos to 1st might be tough on his mentality. I don't like signing other guys Sterns knows look how Houser turned out, I thought he was a steal. I think it would be better getting Freid who's a lefty and would be nice to have 2 lefthanded starters plus he also has some Gold Gloves. Hoffman would be a great upgrade over Maton. These are just my thoughts.

I think Stearns isn’t gonna keep a lotta guys from 2024 I think he likes to sign big pieces that will become core members while adding underrated gems I think each year will always be a different group but the Mets will sign young studs that are on the market to add to the “Core”
Did you mention a phillies reliever, after what the Mets did to that bullpen...? One thing not mentioned... alonso could go to the yanks. rizzo may be gone.
I haven't been really rooting for a specific team, just good ball, but man, the actions of some of these yankees fans lately are making it hard not to flat out root for the dodgers. The desperation is oozing off them ...

Naming the podcast "Why am I a Mets Fan?" is a self-fulfilling prophecy. I wanted to sound spooky because tomorrow is All Hallows Eve. On a personal note, as a child I dressed up as Dave Kingman for Halloween and nobody got it. Sorry ladies, back to baseball, historically, and as recently as the last game, the behavior of Yankee fans explains why we're Mets fans. They (as Seinfeld once elaborated "Who are they?") don't call that area The Bronx Zoo for nothing, which has nothing to do with incarcerated animals. The behavior of the Yankee fans once again proves why they are, well, Yankee fans. As far as the offseason, the money coming off the CBT allows for a variety of possibilities regarding roster construction. Using history as a guide, in this case, recent history, David Stearns prefers a roster with speed, athleticism, and flexibility with an emphasis on a strong pitching staff built from the bullpen out. This roster does not yet reflect that vision. Stearns should address pitching ahead of anything else, and yes, we will be in, HEAVILY, on Soto. I would personally love to see Roki Sasaki in our rotation next season, but that's me.
Soto isn't even a good corner outfielder. Cornerstone piece my ass. Write a blank check to a guy who's a liability in the field? WHAT DO WE DO WITH OUR FARM SYSTEM? WHY EVEN HAVE ONE???
No price for the Polar Panda makes any sense. This team achieved in spite of his lack of production. He kills the farm system by staying in the lineup. Gotta rotate talent and make room for some youth. Pete didn't earn the right to remain a Met. We need higher standards!!
We will be doing another World Series episode or two based on how long the series goes!
You may consider this blasphemous. But my approach to the World Series is that unless the Rays are involved where I want them to win as quickly as possible, I always root for more games for the excitement factor. Love this episode. I was waiting for dodgers info. But I love this pod. M please cover both teams.
Dodger fan here! I started listening when the series started with the Mets and it's been a pleasure. Great work!
I'm rooting for the Dodgers because no real Mets fan ever roots for the fucking Yankees in the postseason. EVER.

Damn huge fan and beautiful woman ❤dodgers for ever
Mets need Soto to solidify our lineup. Lindor, Soto, Vientos, Alonzo or Trout, Nimmo, Mauricio, McNeil, Alvarez, Taylor, (Acuna, Baty, iglesius??)
Is Mets/Alonso perhaps sort-of comparable to Dodgers/Bellinger? Alonso’s season was nowhere near as apocalyptically bad as Bellinger’s was, but on the other hand, Bellinger’s potential ceiling was maybe a bit higher (counting excellent glove skills at a premium position).
My point being that the Dodgers cut ties and haven’t looked back, despite the fact that a lot of fans really liked his whole Owen Wilson stoned surfer vibe.
It's comparable. Especially since Alonso's agent, like "Belli's" (Bellinger) is Scott Boras.
Don't expect a hometown discount.
@ I forgot that was Boras! Well that’s another kettle of fish altogether. It’s widely believed that Andrew Friedman actively avoids Boras clients (Teoscar being an exception); any sense of what the Mets relationship with him is?
I think it has more to do with who is agent is: Scott boras.
Teo is not a boras client.
I think Stearns isn’t gonna keep a lotta guys from 2024 I think he likes to sign big pieces that will become core members while adding underrated gems I think each year will always be a different group but the Mets will sign young studs that are on the market to add to the “Core”
Keep Pete at a good price but with Boras that won't be possible.
Iglesias, like Winker, brings Chemistry as well.
Doing our best to beat the Yankees.
Do not overpay for Iglesias!!!!! He’s not an everyday player
Did you mention a phillies reliever, after what the Mets did to that bullpen...?
One thing not mentioned... alonso could go to the yanks. rizzo may be gone.
umm there is no other first baseman next year. think about it
We trust Stearns right?
Yall forgot to mention the Mets still paying Bobby Bonilla
Whats up ladies
Let Alonso go. I heard he's an AH anyway. Go all in on Soto, he's a better bat and they're not sacrificing much defense either way.

Iglesias belongs in NY
Japanese potential, pitcher Sasaki, still 23, born in 2001 worth paying $500M.
Mets CEO keep contact with him.
why am i watching this?....o ya i know ashley
Samantha has classic beauty too
Alonso should not get more $ than Freeman!
千賀を放出してマナイヤとカンタナをローテーションの軸にするだって!?
Maybe this question for another podcast but I’ll ask it anyway. Juan Soto. Do you hope the Mets will trade for him? Dodger fan.
No need to trade for him as he will be a FA at season's end
Soto is a free agent meaning its who offers him the best contract. No other players are involved. He will be a Met 14 years/ 700 million

We will trade you Ohtani for grimace.
You forget that IGLESIAS is a yoing 34 yr old, body wise, just like RICKY HENDERSON was.
grimace gotta go.
Let Alonso walk and go all in for Juan Soto.
They're not mutually exclusive. Soto alone doesn't win a world series. He needs a team, and Pete is a massive part of the club's production.
The Mets prove stronger. 👍
The Dodgers lose today and tomorrow
for 💍 at LA. Roberts’ plan realizes because of the Yankees’ weakness. 😂
I stopped supporting Pete after the way he treated the water boy at the home run Derby
What did Pete do to the water boy?
@ the kid went to hand it to him and he literally just looked at him with a mean stare and let it fall to the ground
@@luckap79 okay
The mets should try to get soto so you can compete with my dodgers 😊
thanks pete but you gotta go.. hes on the decline they can do better
