I'm a Mets fan but I think it's cool that Dodger fans seem to really like them. My prob with most of the other podcasters from any team is they're mostly homers. These two have been critical when it's needed and they're just entertaining.

Dodger fan from California and I never paid attention to the Mets until you ladies. Thank you for dropping all this knowledge. It’s going to be fun to see the Dodgers and Mets next season.

Yes, I am terribly sad we lost Juan, but it just wasn't meant to be. SO, congrats on signing him, and boy are you going to love watching him! Good luck in 2025 (only when you're not playing us, that is LOL)
Two episodes in one week! Signed Soto! What a great week to be a Mets Fan! Cohen family looking out for Soto family and making sure they are comfortable is huge. The Yankees really are no fun
Dodgers fan here. I don't like this because it makes the Mets a bigger threat to the Dodgers. If the Mets get more pitching, they could be a legitimate championship team.
Another Dodger fan here Love your podcast Same Yankee fans who throw beer on players and grab an outfielder to take ball out of the glove because, "we own this wall". They live in the 1900's and it shows
I think the deal breaker was that the Yankees wouldn’t give him a suite because they couldn’t justify it since Jeter and Judge had to pay for there’s and the Mets gave him one for free.
Why are all us Dodgers fan watching this channel? Lol I admit, I'm kinda hooked too. As far as Soto, He was quoted in the past as wanting to play for a winning team so it looks like he felt the Mets had a better chance. I think I can speak for most of us Dodgers fans that we weren't very heartbroken that he didn't come to L.A.
Love the Mets and love hearing the phenomenal female perspective on baseball. You ladies are in good company with the likes of Joy Taylor. Maria Taylor, Laura Rutledge, Kay Adams, Mina Kimes. Just to name a few other amazing talents, but the two of you are by far my favorites. Keep up the good work. Also, thank you for being a Mets fan.
I think you’re absolutely right about how it would’ve been received in the baseball mediaverse if it’d been NYY. There would’ve been some light tut-tutting, but mostly in the vein of “wow, the Yankees would not be denied and they did the time-honored Yankee thing they’ve done since The Captain and DiMag and Ruth and Vercingetorix and legacy and Bombers and .” It would’ve been hailed as living up to a “winning tradition” ad nauseam.
I was listening to a Dodgers podcast and one comment asked to trade some assets for one of you two. How about signing for LA to start " Why I am a Dodgers fan" 😂💙
One of the top pitchers in the league. Not getting Soto was actually a blessing. Now the Yankees can use the money to actually get more than one player.
Dodgers fan here: glad that not only you got Soto and more so that the Evil Empire did not get them...He was watching at the end of the game and definitely thinking what's my best chance to get out there next year and be champion...not with the Yankees..
Hey lovely ladies! Another great episode. I love the chemistry between you two, you're very informative and funny. Also love that you're a realist. Did the Mets overpay for Soto? Absolutely! but you don't shy away from that fact. You're paying for the present and trying to win now. I appreciate that. LAD fan continuing to support 💙
As a Mets fan I’m getting annoyed with the misinformation the sports media is putting out. The difference is not $5 million less! The contracts are completely different. Soto signing with the Mets had a nice $75 million signing bonus, more money every year, zero differed , opt out in 5 years, and clauses to go over 805 million. So again, it’s not that he had left the Yankees for just $5 million signing bonus, it’s much more. All that being said, I’m happy that we got Soto, I wanted Soto since he stated out as a National. He flat out mashes the damn ball with a higher batting average. I know, I know a one dimensional player right? Let’s put it this way, with men on have and the game on the line? You want Soto at the plate. There is much more work to get done, now that we have him. We need starters, bullpen, and Polar Bear back in the lineup. That is crucial now. When I say the sports media is doing a disservice, it’s not referring to this channel, it’s one of the better podcasts out there saying what most of us fans have in common. Refreshing to see.
This is spot on. If you actually look and read the details of the contract it's not just 5 million, it's actually surprising to me as journalists these ladies keep ignoring this and simply not even talking about the truth of it all, they just keep saying 5 million dollars but it's not that at all and I'm not a Yanks fan and I quite like this podcast but I do understand they are Mets fan, so they're excited and happy as they should be, but this notion that he "wanted" the Mets more and it was just a few million difference is very silly, he's making so much more money from the Mets than he would have from any other team, he went to the highest bidder, like most people said. And as someone who had no dog in this fight so to speak, it was exciting watching the whole thing unfold. Mets fans deserve this, they have an owner who said he would do everything to win and he's showing it with his actions, any fan would want the same. Enjoy Soto!
Completely agree as a Dodger fan. The Mets contract was far more in his favor. That one less year with even more money is such a big factor because he's going to be nearing the end of his career when the contract ends. Who wouldn't want the option to retire a year earlier. 🤷
Ashley with an absolute spot on take about the media reaction to the Soto deal @3:30 ESPN's reaction was hilarious. They were all lowkey and flat out salty with Soto going to the crosstown Mets. They even blatantly laid off the clause in Soto's contract that could take the deal up to $800M. Love this podcast!
Yo the way they hate us. All the criticism is solely because it was the Mets. Allllll these haters and crybabies are about to eat their words next year I can't wait. QQ more LFGM
4:16 Girl Math : Becuase you liked the shirt on the rack Man, sometimes you buy the luxury product, He’ll yeah because better & you want it & it looks good & it feels good , & did you over pay for the name brand yeah you did… but it was worth it 😅 you Gals are amazing 🫶🏼 #LetsGoDodgers & yes Soto was gonna be a Mets player the second the final game was over 🫡 hope he is good for the Mets … Dodgers need a good team to play against 💪🏼 excited for next season
The Mets have never been in this position for spending in my entire life. The Wilpon's just wouldn't invest in the Mets like this. Can't wait for next season.
I’m not a Skanks fan, but you gotta acknowledge that in five years the Mets contract will be worth $45MM more than what the Skanks offered him. Unless he is lousy, he will attempt to opt out, and the Mets will block it.
Something about listening to women from the East Coast talking about sports... the way you both talk is so different from LA women... refreshing! Thanks ladies. I hope Soto well but us Dodgers gonna be ready. LFG!
Enjoying listening to your perspective on how the Mets are doing. Personally as a baseball fan, feels to me that Soto went for the bigger bag, however small/large it’s been due to the bidding war at the end. If Mets offered the same contract as Yankees or less money and chose the Mets, then I would see he wanted to be a Met. It can also be both, but who really knows. At the end, Soto is a Met and that is the only thing that matters. Unless everything at Citi field is more expensive, then everyone is paying for that contract. On another note, Roster Resource(Fangraphs) and Cot’s has the Mets over the CBT, but spotrac doesn’t. From what I’ve heard, the estimate of Roster Resource/Cot’s is a good estimate of CBT tax of each team. But in any case, they are either over or slightly under the first threshold and seem like they will keep on spending to continue to build the roster. So seems like a moot point that if they are currently under the CBT or not. Keep up the good work. Exciting time to be a Mets fan.
You two cuties must be really happy. Like getting an early CHRISTMAS present. But it doesn't mean anything signing SOTO if he's not surrounded by the right casr. That means re-signing ALONSO to make the lineup stronger. They also have to re-sign MANAEA and revamping the rest of the pitching staff and since STEARNS won't go after CORBIN BURNES, TANNER SCOTT or JEFF HOFFMAN because of his MINI MARKET/MONEY BALL PHILOSOPHY, they should make a strong effort to acquire GARRET CROCHET.
Alex is absolutely just as important as Steve in changing the culture of the Mets. Her official title is co-owner too and i don’t see enough people referring to her as that. Mostly just “his wife” cmooonn man
The sports media is in a tizzy that Soto signed with the Mets. How dare he leaves the Pinstripes, the history, the Hall of Fame players of DiMaggio, Mantle, and Ruth, and the great teams of the 1990s. They have to wake up and get over themselves. Soto was born in 1998; he does remember those Jeter-led Yankees teams. Take in point, I was 26 years old in 2001, imagine the Oakland A's telling me how great they were in 1974?
Honestly it's hilarious to me seeing Yankees fans crying about Soto being a sellout and chasing money when the Yankees are the team that just went out and bought everybody for years. I can understand being sad about missing out on Soto, but the level of anger is crazy. It's not like he has some longstanding history of being a Yankee guy that came up through the system and built his reputation with them for years. He was just a one year rental that pretty much made his intentions known that he would go to the highest bidder several years ago when he turned down Washington's $400mil offer. You also nailed it when discussing that the Yankees are no longer the end-all-be-all destination where players would give anything to wear their jersey. They'll always be popular and relevant, but most people no longer see the Yankees the same way the Yankees fans still see their organization.
I see Yankees as the most successful franchise in all professional sports in the world . That is a FACT , not just an individual perception ..!! And hatters know that ❤
Dodgers Fan here... Similar to the way the Dodgers went out and got Glasnow and Yamamoto after signing Ohtani, it will be interesting to see who the Mets sign next. The Mets need one more solid bat and a true ACE to even compete against the Phillies and the Braves. Heck, I dont know if Soto and an ACE alone is enough to take NL East. I hope the NL East and the playoffs fight is just as exciting as it was last season. I don't see an easy road back the NLCS for the Mets in 2025. One thing for sure, if the Mets went out and spent $760M+, then...They are committed to spending more and to winning. I hope there is Grimace magic left over from last season.
I’m curious about why Mets fans “hate” the Yankees and vice versa. Is this only because of the 2000 World Series? As an outsider I don’t understand the dynamics at work here.
I’m confused because they didn’t really cite any reason why he would want to be a met. They cited many things about the Yankees that he allegedly didn’t care about (tradition, winning in 2009, etc) so if that’s the case what appealed to him about the Mets that wasn’t related to money? The Mets have almost no real tradition and haven’t won since the 80s. Even the example of the free suite vs paying for a suite comes down to money. So while I agree Soto didn’t go for $5m more, he went for many millions more that’s about it. What am I missing
Love hearing that the Mets took care of Soto's family for the duration.💯 It's those extra touches. And, yes, you want a team owner who acts like a fan.😎 This is an oldie reference, but Jerry Buss, who owned the Lakers and brought the "show" back to sports, was a Lakers FAN. And he added players like a fan would. Five rings in 10 years. Jusayin'.💜💛 Magic Johnson, the key piece of that run, owns the Dodgers, and he's a sports fan and a businessman, yes. But he loves a good game. You want a FAN in your team's owner, for sure.💯
As a Dodger fan I never understood why ppl hated Yankee fans so much. NOW I know why! Watching Yankee fans cry over losing and now Soto. They have created a new Yankee fan hate!!
Great perspective. Yanks are gonna be butt hurt for a spell. I love the comment about picking off the rack….even though it’s overpriced. Keep it going ladies. You know baseball!
yanks don't want Pete. Pete is a great home run hitter but we will be too right handed. He should stay with the Mets. We need more left handed hitters to balance the lineup.
I’m 61 years old, Soto is 26; my son’s age. Sure, traditions and organizational values are important and the Yankees have the prerogative to maintain and enforce them. But, Juan Soto is a Dominican kid with, from what I’ve seen, a lower middle class background whose values are about family; something that is obviously a top priority for him. Doesn’t he too have a prerogative to uphold those traditions and values? I don’t think anybody with an ounce of intelligence can doubt that money was a factor but it reached a point where differences were negligible. Can’t he also be a young man with integrity? What really reeled him in was that sense of family bonding that the Cohens manifested; I have your back and you have mine. For certain things, we remember his age; for certain things but not for others. He’s a kid who wants to play this beautiful game at which he excels at and in which he has unique, gifted talents. At the same time, he’s an adult who wants to better the lot of his family and wants to care for them. Can you blame him? Don’t we all want that in life; to provide the best for our loved ones and at the same time enjoy our life’s chosen path? Do I sense a bit of envy in that fallout?
I believe it's Alex Cohen who demands Steve give the players family perks and all of that extra stuff that making it more of a family oriented business. Behind every great man is a great woman. And that'd be Alex Cohen. She deserves serious credit.
Everybody is saying that Cohen overpaid Soto. Agreed. But, Cohen didn't just buy Soto. He bought credibility in the future of this organization being on the same level as the Yankee franchise. The Soto deal put the Mets organization on the same level as the Yanks for the first time in history. So looking at it from that perspective, there's no way that he overpaid. Yanks fans are just pissed because the Mets have finally arrived and threatened to bring down the legacy of the Yankees
“Jeter and Judge didn’t get it, so Soto shouldn’t.” They also didn’t get $760M, but the Yankees were willing to give that. They also didn’t have STARR INSURANCE whored across their sleeve in 2023. But here we are. Things change
The most surprising development of this episode is I would have suspected Sam was into clean shaven and Ashley would be the one into facial hair, hmm that one caught me off guard
Okay, I agree with you ladies on almost every said in this episode. Except that Soto signed because he wanted to be a Met. No way. He was going to sign for the most money and the franchise who catered to his every demand. No one is more important than the franchise and if the yanks would’ve met his demands they would’ve put him over the franchise. I don’t think he is worth all that money. He can only hit. He is the only player with a highlight reel for bad fielding that I’m aware of.
As a Dodgers fan, I don't know why I'm watching these ladies talk about the Mets, but I like it. 😂

Alonzo and Soto could be the next Delgado and Beltran!!! LGM!!!
You need more subs you are both great!
As a Dodger fan I never understood why ppl hated Yankee fans so much. NOW I know why! Watching Yankee fans cry over losing and now Soto. They have created a new Yankee fan hate!!
I'll laugh if Soto only signed with the Mets because he wants to grow a beard.
Absolutely right! Without Alonso, it just doesn't seem quite right. Sign Pete! LFGM!
Soto is the next Trout……I guy cannot win you a World Series ! You got 5 years Mets !!!!
That's why I go to Ross for the brand names. 🤣
If I was a desirable free agent worth $200M and the Mets courted me why wouldn’t I ask for $350 or $300M?
I believe it's Alex Cohen who demands Steve give the players family perks and all of that extra stuff that making it more of a family oriented business.
Behind every great man is a great woman. And that'd be Alex Cohen. She deserves serious credit.
Congrats on the Soto signing.
I think it also came down to Soto witnessing Arson Judge take a crap in the post and was like, " yea, nah, I need a reliable killer, not a weak mofo"
Making Ohtani deal look like a black friday bargain
“Jeter and Judge didn’t get it, so Soto shouldn’t.” They also didn’t get $760M, but the Yankees were willing to give that. They also didn’t have STARR INSURANCE whored across their sleeve in 2023. But here we are. Things change
Your energy is so great (and the hope of a WS win so real) that I'm almost okay with needing a second mortgage to afford a soda at Citi next season 😅
Mets fan here. If you're gonna overpay, you do it for Soto.
I agree that he wanted to be in NY but, it was all about the money. It's not about him wanting to play for the Mets. And that is OK.
Great video. Don't believe much Andy Martino says, especially about his beloved Yankees. He is still crying.
Watch the clip of Passan on the Michael Kay show. Hes very positive on the deal and clearly states "soto wanted to be a Met, not a Yankee."
