Her name is Yoko Ono his second wife. He has 2 sons. 1 named Julien with his first wife and 1 named Sean with Yoko. They both are musicians as well. Each of them has been on an album of their father.
Julian Lennon and Sean Lennon
You get it my good man, it’s rare, that the younger generation appreciates this genre and the message of the day and it never does get old, even 50 + years later on a lot of bands
It's not that rare, try and speak to more young people, they're better than you think they are
@@RichardCrumpet I have 🧐😎
@@RichardCrumpet It really depends on where you are it seems...not sure why exactly. Just different attitudes...seems like the less "screen" time..the more they are open to new music & ideas!
Im 37yo and my mother had the vinyl (I still have it heheh) so I hear this song often when I grew up. Now, I made my duty to regurlarly play this song at home only for my 18yo song to hear it, he know who john lennon is. This song is part of world's culture and every human should know it.
Imagine someone hasn't heard this important song. Share it with the younger generations - it's a great message.
It's a horrible message. God is the answer to man's problems. Man has only made better technology to do evil more efficiently, not brought everlasting peace to the world.
@@ffjsb I guess you're not a fan of history. Almost every war ever was in the name of religion or one religion trying to wipe out or push their religion on others. "Religion is the opiate of the masses".
@@ffjsb You wanna talk about horrible messages? Look no further than any religious dogma.
@J.H. ABSOLUTELY, I was going to say the SAME THING to ffjsb!
@@ffjsb More wars have been started OVER religion, every religion claiming that THEIRS is the ONLY and PROPER one. One religion trying to convert other people with a different religion. It has been this way forever! IF GOD is the answer to man's problems, and is supposed to be a LOVING God, then WHY hasn't HE done something about all the suffering, hate and wars that have plagued man since time began? No, it just goes on and on, doesn't sound like a very LOVING God to me. I pray all the time that HE will step in, still waiting. I for one, prefer the peace of life as John Lennon describes it in "IMAGINE". I will never live long enough to see that come about, sadly.
This song came out in the 70s after the Beatles broke up and in the height of the Vietnam war. John Lennon was a man of peace and this song protested all humankind’s reasons for war, suffering and injustice. He was so loud and so powerful in raising the awareness of young Americans against the vicious old men that used our young men to fight and die for money and power. Remember back then we had the draft. You had no choice to be in the military. They trained you to kill, flew you to Asia and dropped you in the middle of a jungle. Our young boys were slaughtered, and tortured. They turned to drugs to escape the atrocities and driven to Schizophrenia. To learn about it watch movie like Apocalypse Now and The Deer Hunter.
John was so loud that President Nixon had him arrested, followed and under FBI surveillance for years. Another song…. Give Peace a Chance.
John was murdered in front of his home in NYC on December 8, 1980 at age 40. A part of an entire generation died with him. There has never been or will be another John Lennon.
Lastly, please react to Dreamer by Ozzy Osbourne. Like the song Imagine, Ozzy wrote and release this in October 2001, just one month after 9/11.
And Ironically John could be a massive asshole to others...
incredibly talented yet a neglectful, absent parent to his firstborn son. Took him right off the pedestal.
You spelled communist wrong
@@ffjsb read a book on him. An actor who was a close friend talked about John having a seriously bad temper and even punched him in the face at least once,,Juhn punched him I should clarify. So this whole peace thing, you have to wonder, was it sincere or did he use it as a means to a broader audience for more money? Or was it a reflection of his own inner turmoil of conflicting emotions,,, hmmmm. People are complex and can be both but without him to clarify it it we will have to make up our own minds.
@@ffjsb we all can be at times. We are human. Doesn’t diminish his intentions and impact.
Scrolling thru the comments this old veteran sees many have mentioned the highlights of John Lennon's life and musical career. So many of us have been listening to this song for decades. It hit home the first time we heard it, and now watching you get to enjoy it and add it to your playlist is great. You will go thru many emotional reactions as you listen to this song over your hopefully long life with your now new family. He was just starting his family when he made this song. So few of us take time to think about why Earth is here, and why are we on it? Our world is in major chaos on many levels, so imagine true peace on earth. Peace to you on your path.
John Lennon was the ultimate Peace Freak. Since the 1960s people loved him and others hated him. More than 40 years after his death they still do. Songs from the Beatles and individual Beatle members are HEAVILY copyrighted. The international Youth Movement didn't have social media to unite us, we had the Beatles. They, especially Lennon, empowered the American Youth Movement to help stop the Vietnam war that was killing thousands. React or watch (turn Captions on) a video called: *"GIVE PEACE A CHANCE. (Ultimate Mix, 2020) - Plastic Ono Band (official music video HD)"* also *POWER TO THE PEOPLE. (Ultimate Mix, 2020) - John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band (official music video HD)*
Remember the song "Cult of Personality" and how it said 'when a leader speaks, that leader dies'? Leaders aren't just politicians. Sometimes they're rock stars.
by the group "living colour".
Actually John Lennon later admitted that the song was a poem that Yoko had written and he basically just put it to music. Rest in peace Mr Lennon 🙏 💔 we still love you. ❤
Arguably one of the greatest songs ever written.
It’s definitely in my personal top 3.
I just said that. I have three songs I consider to be the best ever written and this is one of them.
Mee too.
Not arguably, it easily is..
This is why having the Arts in school is utmost important. Music appreciation, art appreciation is vital to the soul.
It’s so sad that many schools have deleted The Arts from their school curriculum. It’s an important part of life and learning.
Religion was a lot more prominent back then and nobody religious really had a problem with this song. They got the message. Live in peace and love each other. Nobody in the past century has spread that message more than John Lennon.
Loved your thoughts on the song, John and the Beatles. This is a timeless classic. with the universal message of peace and love against man's inability to just get on with each other.
Good Songs from the Beatles worth reacting to:
-Strawberry fields
-In my life
-A day in the life
-While my guitar gently weeps
-Helter Skelter
And many more.. the Beatles are truly one of a kind when it comes to diversity, they could do it all.
Hey jude
I’m so glad I was born in 1951, because I was lucky enough to experience all the good music.
Me too 1951 !
Arrogant thing to say.
The lady is Yoko Ono, John's second wife. She's a multi-award-winning conceptual/multi-media/performance artist with a long and successful career, mostly independent of, as well as in some collaborations with John before his early death.
Her role in the video is an example of her using actions/performance to make a point - here, she opens the shutters of a darkened room, one by one as the song progresses, symbolising how the ideas presented in the lyrics can let the light. in, to our minds and into the world, if we let them
John has acknowledged that the whole concept of this song actually originated with Yoko. She wrote a book where each page started with the word "IMAGINE...'. John just took the idea and made it into a song.
These guys are way beyond human analysis. They are timeless legends.
A beautiful message from a beautiful soul that was snuffed out too early!! This song and music like it will never get old and fade away as long as there are young people like yourself that are willing to step outside of their comfort zone and explore the music that started everything!! GOD BLESS YOU keep up the good work and get as many of your young friends and acquaintances as you can to explore the music of the past!! To me the message is HOPE for mankind and the world!! Imagine that we're not bound by religious beliefs and superstitions as to what will happen to us in the afterlife!! Let's just live each day for itself and love our fellow man!! That's all we need to bring peace to the world is that philosophy!! Imagine that there are no countries and boundaries! Nothing to kill or die for, just one planet of human beings living and sharing with each other!! If it was up to me I would make EVERY world leader, no matter how big a country or small of Village, to listen and understand the meaning of this song!!!!
A great Beatles song to react to would be “Here comes the sun”, it’s one of the greats by them.
As long as there are people like you who can open up their minds to great music from the past decades, the music will live on. Thank you.
So, so, so, glad you get the message. My generation tried to change the world. In numerous ways we did. But we did fall short in the end game. Not just here in the U S but worldwide. We tried. Sorry we fucked it up for the younger generations.
To me this is one of the most important songs ever.
I loved this man he was genius ❤
John Lennon was an amazing human being. He was out there with the people when when things were going on. If he was still alive today he would still be out there when things were going wrong. I would most definitely check out "Mother" or "Just Give Peace a Chance" you can not go wrong with those if you enjoyed this song.
ACROSS the UNIVERSE
Is also a wonderful Lennon song
After hearing this song hundreds of times the first few chords still gives me chills.
Imagine all things being equal or the same
And his line about no Possessions you see his living room is completely empty. Very meaningful song and his contribution to our world to bring us together. Thank you for your reaction. ❤
That song became an anthem for us growing up at that time. Unfortunately he was shot in the back five times outside his home in NYC and died on the way to the hospital shortly after he reliesed a new album.
Watching the wheels go round and round, Just like starting over, great songs also
Your Spot on with your reactions, I like that you picked it right up. AWESOME! John had a beautiful spirit, good man and The Best Humanitarian ever!!! The lady is Yoko, she is Johns second wife.
Lennon wrote this at 528 hz the “”mi” note or the miracle note. The love frequency. The man sure knew his music. We kept a candle in the window for him. Life taken too soon.
John Lennon was a wonderful performer and song writer. This song is about complete peace and acceptance. What a wonderful thought. Unfortunately not a reality. I'll keep imagining and wishing. RIP John Lennon. Hoping you found true peace, love and acceptance in the afterlife.
Yoko Ono was his wife hun! I love the Beatles ..... Love All Of Them!!!! While my guitar gently weeps is BEAUTIFUL -- Strawberry Fields ---- Here comes the sun - Hey Jude -❤❤
Love almost the entire discography of the Beatles. A lot of their “deep cuts” in the album could easily be single hits. Just off the top of my head you should check out (I’m only Sleeping, Strawberry Fields Forever, Revolution 1, Get Back, Oh Darling, Here There and Everywhere, I’ve Got a Feeling, Because, Happiness is a Warm Gun, Your Mother Should Know, Free as a Bird, and Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight). I could name so many more but I think those are some good ones.
Expose baby girl to as much music as you can all genres …. Then she’ll love & appreciate music like Mim & Dad & I love how you guys embrace & share much love & respect ❤️😊
John Lennon, my favourite Beatle, was really talented, he composed lots of beautiful and meaningful songs. Please, react to WORKING CLASS HERO, GIVE ME SOME TRUTH and GOD.
RIP John
His wife Yoko Ono
He was a man of peace and it’s so sad he was gunned down in front of his wife outside their apartment building by a nut case.
The song is about. We all need to start caring about each other. God made us all. Hatred is stupid. Some people hate in the name of religion. That is why the song said, imagine there's no heaven or hell below. 1-26-2022
I really love your reactions. I miss Crystal, where has she been?
Outta all the people I’ve seen react to videos I feel like your one of the realest idk man your whole vibe was right 💯🔥
Why can't we all just live in peace it's the politicians who divide wether it be from any ppl like him will fight against it!
Rip John Lennon, u r missed.
Some more Lennon songs that are great
God
Mother
Working class hero
Gimmie some truth
Crippled inside
Give peace a chance
Instant karma! (We all shine on)
Beautiful boy
Watching the wheels turn
With that being said he has a bunch of wonderful songs that go completely overlooked because of the power house that is “imagine” and “war is over (merry Xmas)”
John Lennon/Whatever Gets You Through The Night
2 songs with deep messages you should definitely check out.
R.E.M. - everybody hurts ( try not to pause it. Ruins the flow)
Mike and the mechanics-the living years.
Yes, that's exactly what he's saying...Imagine there is nothing out there to divide us. What kind of world could we have?
IMAGINE by John "Lennon was inspired by several poems from wife Yoko Ono's 1964 book Grapefruit... Lennon later explained that the song "should be credited as a Lennon/Ono song. A lot of it - the lyric and the concept - came from Yoko, but in those days I was a bit more selfish, a bit more macho, and I sort of omitted her contribution, but it was right out of Grapefruit."
"Lennon composed the song one morning in early 1971. It was written on a Steinway piano, in a bedroom at his Tittenhurst Park home in Ascot. Yoko Ono watched on as he composed the melody, chords and most of the lyrics, and nearly completed the whole song in one short writing session."
Taken from "The Story of... 'Imagine' by John Lennon" by Tom Eames (October 2020).
The last verse always hits the hardest!! Shine on young fella 👍✌️!!
Pentatonix does a great cover of this song very powerful
You should check John Lennon - Instant Karma
Another powerful song by him
Kudos young one..its a classic, truth filled song...blessings to your awareness!♡♡♡
John Lennon could have done so much good for our broken world if he had lived his life...cut way too short...this is a lovely song and it will never get old, you should listen to some of his interviews and the one where his Aunt Mimi talks about him it's lovely.
Imagine is my favorite song from John Lennon
Let's all live in peace
This is a great reaction to this, this is my favorite song ever. I like how you spoke about passing it on to the next generation, that was a great sentiment.
Thank you for keeping our music alive.
Since you're very into lyrics you should check out Cool Change by Little River Band and Doctor My Eyes, The Pretender & Running on Empty by Jackson Browne
That's his wife Yoko Ono
Former Beatles member George Harrison's Give Me Love should be next on your list
Props to you for going on this journey and expanding your musical pallette. If only more people would do this.
Stay on your grind. Enjoy your channel and all the variety.
Hope to see you take the NF journey one day
Loved it, loved your reaction and comments. Great song, and I too am so pleased that a young person, like yourself, can get into the meaning. Thank you.
Amen!Wise words from a young man.New subscriber.
Serious one of my favorite songs ever.
The most simple words are the most profound. They speak to us in a way that everyone can understand. The answers to world problems are so simple. We all share all we have with everyone. It is governments around the world and a minority of people with bad intentions that keep the world in chaos, that keep us from coming together for the right reasons. We all help each other to live simple good lives. I wish everyone wanted this. What a beautiful world it would be.
I’ve always held this a song as a reminder to man what we could be.
I remember listening to this song when I was a kid, I always knew it meant something deep but I didn’t fully understand it till I got older.
One of my favorite Beatles songs is called 'Something '
Great reaction. Your message is always so positive. Thanks.
Awesome. Greetings from Brazil. I love this song.
Good luck and much success in your new adventure
There is another Lennon song, massively understated, and sometimes underrated (not by me), it's from an early Beatles album, a very simple song, try it. In my Life.
Sadly, it is an impossible dream. But you can strive to be kind.
The lady in the video is Yoko Ono his wife, nephew. Love your channel 🤎🤎🤎🖤🖤🖤
You did get it..its deep!! Forever♡♡♡♡
The lady in the video is Yoko Ono and she was his wife.
I think John was hoping that by now, we wouldn't have to imagine a better world..it would already be here...great insights!!
Let it Be and Revolution are 2 of my favorites from the Beatles. And that was Yoko Ono his second wife.
Growing with you 🙏
So many great Beatles songs: A Day in the Life, When I'm 64, She's Leaving Home, Strawberry Fields...the list goes on and on.
Your reaction is spot on!!!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️❤️❤️
If you like this, do "Watching The Wheels" by Lennon from the same time frame. Very similar sound.... Its fasho a thinking mans song!
Beatles song ideas: "Blackbird", "Something", "A Day In The Life", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Hey Jude"
I bought this when I was 15 in 1980/1 in Scotland, It resonated with the younger generation then and I’m very glad to hear you it break down too.
Separately, can you react to Gabrielle ‘Sunshine’, I promise you won’t be disappointed
Wld b gld to see you review "the afghan Whigs" with "when we two parted". Like your being musically open and appreciating lost pearls!
Gotta be honest..this made me cry as a kid in the 80s especially after losing my mom after high school..it was one of her favorite songs still gets me..RIP mom and to all who lost a loved one
Music is the one thing that you can't criticize someone for they listen to because people listen to specific genres for personal and specific reasons, people listen to music more for how they relate to the songs (Yoko Ono)
"A Working Class Hero is Something to Be"
-John Lennon, listen to it Reck.
Vlogs and pod casts will boost you and your family are in my prayers!
And i love your views on it!❤
Great reaction. So nice to see you get it
One of the best songs ever. And very sad and ironic that one of the most peace loving people ever on the planet gets murdered in cold blood by a "fan". Such a shame. RIP John.
Well done young man!!! Great Reaction!!! 🤘
As I was listening to this song, it occured to me to start a new de-escalation technique, When I hear someone yelling at someone in public, or some Karen being a Karen in public, to Break Out Singing "Imagine" as loud as I can, and hopefully others will join in and drown out the anger and discord that they wish to give away. Imagine how, instead of answering hate with hate, we put love and accord in its place.
Great choice, Thank you.
Concious music, you get it 😊
As others have mentioned, Pentatonix covers this song and does a nice rendition of it. I like the fact that by then doing it, it opens the song up to another audience that may have never heard the original.
Great reactions btw, I like that you’re really getting the meaning of the songs and offering your thoughts. Keep up the good work!
My daughter became enamored of the Beatles when she was in middle school. It wasn’t our influence. We had been introducing her to the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s music. She caused me to remember their greatness.
RIP - JOHN, we lost you to soon brother. Your music, will live on in our hearts forever.
So true even today
Best description I have heard, is... This is a protest song wrapped in a lullaby.
