It's changed in 48 years since I landed there on my first cross country flight. :-) They have a tower and more hangers. Was a fun year, 1972. Soloed at the Newport airport, was discharged from the Navy and working in my new career a few months later in south Texas. New England is a beautiful place!
Yea except Jamie is tired of that slow ass plane, it’s obvious she’s getting tortured. She don’t care about that paint job. They need an Aerostar, there are super good deals out there with Covid knocking everything down in price. Aerostar’s have practically the same operating expenses as that little 310 and fly at jet speeds.
Sure was a a workout getting around all that weather as well as the busy airspace up here in the Long Island/ New England area and for a "Cherry on Top" they threw in a little unpublished TFR at the end for good luck...lol Fairly typical for us though in this area. Just makes flying more exciting and FUN! It is beautiful tough! Thank for sharing again. Enjoyed the video as always.
That is typical of NYC area flying. You can sometimes be issued three or more amendments to your clearance as you transition the airspace. I've been flying in this area for 33 years. Direct destination is one thing you will not hear up here!
I think the flight itself may have been just as entertaining as seeing the Statue Of Liberty. Some great scenery at Martha's Vineyard. Think this is the first time seeing you behind the wheel of a car instead of a plane. Thanks mate
Wow it's really pretty there. Busy too, lots of people. And yea it looks like GA is alive and booming there. Cool. Hope you two have fun. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Me and my wife sit back and love watching your videos, your like a young version of us, oh but we haven't got the plane or dollar lol. Na really we actually really love your adventures, keep it up.
The Cessna 310 is my all-time favorite aircraft. I used to refuel airplanes at Charlotte Douglas Airport I got free flights and free flight time in all types of planes. I love to watch you guys fly and the way you explained the instrument panel and what you're doing. I'm about to old to fly anymore so you take me back hope you all have a great time. Stay safe and have a great day!
Ha ha...I'm excited to have my fancy IFD's for times like those. How much easier that is than looking up all that on the charts and dialing in radials to travel via. Don't miss those days. :)
I was on Martha's Vineyard when the President (Clinton) was there. I don't know what it's like now, but the entire island was IFR only and no VFR was allowed in the TFR zone. And, they kept real close track of us in the IFR. And we passed several F-16's from the Air National Guard and they had white ones hanging from the rails. It's an ominous feeling looking over and seeing a visored pilot starring at you and verifying your tail number.
I second what azul@72 said a year ago - i am also from australia and have been getting into MSFS flying the MILVIZ 310R with your paint scheme! As an avid video producer myself and an ex ppl I just love your productions! Hope you are both all well and still together doing whatever it is that you love truly Mark
Gday Kev/Jaime, I think I have said this before, but even as a non-aviation person I find your videos interesting and excellent - the new 4-way split screen on landing was brilliant. Thanks for the video guys. Potsie. Australia.
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I would love any tricks you can offer me.
@Valentino Kayden Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Kevin, Avidyne continues to amazed me how easy it is for reroutes...I love it! It makes re-routing so much more simpler. Now if I could copy those re-routes down on paper faster I would be in tall cotton! :-) Thanks to you & Jamie for taking us along with you! I enjoyed the VID. Don/NE Ohio
Hey guys, I really enjoyed this video. I've never been to Martha's Vineyard... but my Father and and both of his Sisters lived in that neck of the woods so to say.... pretty awesome scenery, and the ocean view was breathtaking.... I've never seen an ocean or the Gulf either... lol. Land locked in Oklahoma ! btw.... Jamie kicked ass on those radios in this video, she's pretty awesome ! Cheers guys.
Thank you! You two always make me smile. Although we drove everywhere, your enthusiasm and ability to enjoy each other's company remind me of Mary Jo and I 43 years ago.
You're very welcome David. Sounds like you and Mary Jo are a good couple! While not opposed to driving completely, flying sure lets us experience more with what little time we have to travel.
I absolutely loved the Martha's Vineyard Tower Controller's sense of humor and timing He just could not resist playing with you guys a little over the FBO thing. Priceless! You guys always seem to bring out the best in all the nice people you meet!
I've commented a few times and will again mention that I am not a pilot but love your videos. Wish I had learn to fly at an earlier age. Hot as Balls? That's a new one!
I was happy to see this video. Nice to see where you stayed. I grew up a couple of houses down Main St which used to be the next house over back then. Before the Ashley Inn became an inn it was the home of a close family friend Olive Hillman. If you ever come again there are some pretty nice tour services that can show you the island. There is also a couple of JAWS tours if you happen to like that movie. 👍🏼
Man I enjoy your channel. You guys really have a gift of making good videos. I appreciate your taking the time to explain flying so us non pilots can follow along. I'm 61 and always wish I could have flown like ya'll . Best I have done is power parachute flying. Jamie keep smiling, your a ray of light. I'm in Erie Pa and always wonder if its you when I see a twin over head lol.
Wow! Traffic was tight going up to Vineyard. I am surprised at how warm it looks in November. Thank you for the tour or "road trip" of the island. It was great!
Glad you enjoyed it David! This was filmed at the end of August I think. I'm just a bit behind on editing but working hard to get caught up to closer to real time. :)
Awesome video guys! You guys are a perfect couple! You guys have the key to a great relationship and that is the respect you have for one another! Don’t ever lose that 🔑!
wow that looked like a lot of work with all the routing changes. Definitely a good example of why its so important to know the planes equipment inside and out as re programming the navigation mid flight while still aviating and communicating can be hard work! Good job :)
Fantastic video! I thought Jaime was gonna bolt out that door. Long busy flight. I grew up across the water in Barnstable. Used to fly (as a passenger) Cape Air from KHYA to both Islands all the time. Really cool to see you guys on the Vineyard . Thanks.
The bridge you crossed over at 21:00 is the famous “Jaws” bridge where they filmed the classic scene of the shark entering the pond and Chief Brodie chasing after his kid. 🦈
@@310Pilot If you had walked down Main St in Edgartown you would have come upon The Wharf restaurant. Jeff Vorhees who I went to school with played Alex Kintner in Jaws is the manager there. He loves to sign shirts and take photos.. lol
Great controller! Sounds like he understood from when you asked for spelling of the choices he was dealing with an unfamiliar transient and really took his time with the lengthy reroute clearance. (I did my instrument training in that area almost 30 years ago and - amazingly - could mentally picture it.)
Awesome job on the IFR clearance changes, repeat back, Reentering It in the Avidyne . It’s is great to have a controller assisting you Kev on the radios too, Great places to fly and always look forward to your guys reviews . Safe Blue Sky’s ahead,

Cool flight! You got the good out of your new NAV setup with all the VOR directs! I cracked up on final as you were doing landing checks and Jamie chimed in with you..."3 Green". She didn't want to land but for darn sure she was looking for 3 wheels down and locked! 😂GO DAWGS!
I just flew the Hudson River Exclusion yesterday actually. It was a bit unnerving on a clear day but something I'm happy to put in my log book. Orbiting the statue was one cool memory too. Hopefully you can get another try at it.
