The ageing process is not only for the look of our instruments. The tone changes as well. No one knows what exactly happens, but it's definitely good. When we go 1 step "higher" and give these instruments 100 hours of our vibration treatment this "effect" increases dramatically. Give it a try before you judge.
Dear Pamela... I have lots of basses and some of them are reliced too, Fender Custom Shop, Fender Road Worn. I have also a Sandberg California PM4 3T sunburst. I am certainly NOT narrow minded but I understand what you could feel reading my comment. And oh, yes, I love Marlowe DK too for all the things he's doing on YT. Cheers, keep rockin'. Eric.
I personally like old basses myself , but economically and for the bass best sake I agree to your comment .. why not buy a new one and play it a lot?! and then it will be lookin just as good after 20 or 30 years as this one .. :p or why not actually buy a 30 year old bass and actually play an old bass , I personally enjoy them the most , the old wood seem to sound the best .. but I dont own any old bass atm .. only guitars .. im working on it thou, I love sandbergs thou.. /. rick | bass
dream for player to have their own signature Bass ... great sandberg did it for MarlowDK, I do not know him mush but i saw him teach bass on video if i am not wrong, and teach is sharing, so he deserve !! congrat To MarlowDK
Well, I had two Sandberg basses PM4 and one aged hardcore. The aging process is only for the look, it can change nothing to the sound to me. The vibrating treatment set the wood in place but it is not a real aging. I have very good basses from the Fender Custom Shop, both aged and NOS and really hear nothing to the sound but I love them of course. The look of the aged basses is fantastic and I am 100% addicted to this. I don't judge, that's my own idea on this subject.
This is one of the best sounding jazz basses on the market these days. I'd put it up against Fender Custom Shop basses any time. The only thing I would leave out is knocking up in the aging process. Thermo-heat, PLEK, and vibration things sound cool, but seeing those scratches and knocks is like somebody doing the same with my car😅.......anyways, they look fantastic
Its like going to the store and buying torn jeans. It's just preference. Marlowe doesn't own any other basses that look torn, so this is pretty good. I would personally get it, it looks nice.
Why do you think people would want a vintage? Nice finish, Nice tone etc... To be honest, I'd prefer a vintage but this thing with making the guitar 'old' is the next thing to an actual vintage guitar
And finally, I never said Sandberg basses are not good instruments... They're just to my taste because having a old looking bass with a too modern (active) sound is something pretty bizarre to my eyes and ears. I'd like to try this MarloweDK passive bass however. Thanks to him, he's a great and cool guy and I respect him very much ! Eric.
What a nice century... we are just spending some money to ask someone who's damaging what could be a "new" instrument ! That's pretty funny isn't ? Why not buying an instrument and keeping it on the road for 25 years by yourself after all ? The aging process does not bring anything to the sound but hey vintage is cool makes me think about a fashion victim sort of thing but for instruments... go ahead, make my day !
Good grief! as Charlie Brown says". Like those who buy a pair of new Jeans that have been raped from the factory, do not look right either, as they do not just follow your anatomy, and the patina falls out incorrectly
why do people want basses that are blue or red or with fancy wood tops? It's just aesthetics, some people like the look, like me. I don't understand why people want green basses, they are ugly...see what I did there? Just like the basses you like and let others like the ones they like. Peace.

Your process is very informative. I would also love to ask where you found that hat and who makes it? It's the perfect fit.
i personally think it looks cool. that might be from watching jaco pastorius. he's bass was beat up and well... he is very cool.

which fluid you use to make the wood looks old at 0:46?
Its like going to the store and buying torn jeans. It's just preference. Marlowe doesn't own any other basses that look torn, so this is pretty good. I would personally get it, it looks nice.
What is the white stripes graphic thing ?
yes
Macht ihr das relic eigentlich auf poly oder Nitro finish?
@SandbergGuitars can you give me then an idea how it works or what i can use with an similar effect?
Que usa para escurecer los espacios de madera sin pintura y pulir?

Amazing
@EloiMorloch that's our secret secretion :)
Damn i really want a sandberg jbass tho :(
which fluid you use to make the wood looks old at 0:48

mint green pick guard is better ...anyway ....GREAT JOB !!!
hi. I'm from indonesia. how can i get this bass? i want tho so bad. please reply. thanks
what's the string spacing, 19mm ?
what pickups did you put in her?
Why doesn't they explain the method of the aging process?
Subtítulos en Español....please
Doesn't having an uneven varnish coating create an uneven sound?
Larry King the sound is already uneven due to the offset body form. The uneven finish negates this effect.
;-)

Ercü!! :-)
Why the hell do people buy new "aged" basses for way too much money. It doesnt make em better or less sounding.
Because we can. It's the most fun I've had in awhile. Great video Marlow DK.
why does everything need to look new?
3:15 oh my God, is it Antonio Banderas? :)
If you had a guitar you'd understand
why would u want to make it look old? i never understood that
SHHH! (Shoe-polish)
i think its stupid to by a signature bass, because then it will never be truely your bass
STRANGE REPLY.

i do, iv been playing bass for 5 years...i would shit my pants if someone did that to my beautiful musicman
Clean your pants.

Why? It looks like someone has gone out of their way to destroy the finish, it's not how instruments age.
誰?
is so ugly... :(
