AAHH, THE FAKE WEAR & TEAR...GOOD JOB ACTUALLY, NO DISRESPECT... ACTUALLY YOU JUST NEED A SIMPLE LIGHTER TO BURN THE EDGES OF THE HEADSTOCK ( LIKE I DO ) TO MAKE IT LOOK EVEN OLDER... GOOD JOB BUDDY....
Did you do something to relic the pickguard ? How would you do to relic a AM Vintage Tortoise (i dont want to make it dull, but « lighter » and « more yellow » Thanks for your help
No, no, no...use a media blaster to get the greater part of the work done, and then feather the edges with sandpaper, and then add what ever dent and scratches you want too.
Looks too intentional, use different finer grits of sand paper to blend paint to wood part then use a polish to shine it a bit to make it looks more natural but this looks very bad,no offense but sorry
Orrr failing this, play the bass night after night, rehearsal after rehearsal, gig after gig for 5 years or longer, accept the dings and scratches as an occupational hazard. Bingo! Your bass is a relic. Guitars and basses which are made into 'relics' in this manner is so fake. Sorry
Amazing job. I’m
Inspired
Great job! Looks awesome!
A pen torch helps you get rid of finish faster.. Heat gun will warp and yellow the plastic..
Will a hairdryer on high heat work

Relicing a pickguard cannot change the colors, only the surface and edges (old pickguards are dull and more rounded)
Where’d you go?
No, no, no...use a media blaster to get the greater part of the work done, and then feather the edges with sandpaper, and then add what ever dent and scratches you want too.
So many options, so little time

Not bad.
Why is aging important? How an instrument sounds is more important.
its a looks thing
The front is nice, but the back is way too much for my taste
The back of basses, thanks to belt buckles, get the worst of it
