I think this is one of the best videos on keeping edges straight. The ideal process is to be consistent. I like when you said “the first stitch-the turning stitch- means nothing to you and to go into that first stitch. I had an aha moment. Thank you.

Crystal... I have been crocheting for 60 yrs and have always struggled with this. I am making my first crocheted sweater and have been tearing my hair out. And then I watch your video and you solved my biggest problem. I've now worked 3 rows and I'll never go back to the old way. Thank you from the bottom of my craft bag.

You know Crystal, you don't give yourself enough credit. You Are an expert. I am self taught from when I was a kid and my mom didn't have enough patience to teach me. I hold my yam totally different than other crocheters; I hold it around my thumb and under my last 3 fingers. I've tried to change but can't seem to get the hang of it so I live with it. But, you have given me the confidence to do real projects. I made 4 mermaid tails for my granddaughters (age from 4 to 13) for Christmas this year. They weren't perfect but my sense of accomplishment was awesome! You had alot to do with that. No, I didn't learn how to make mermaid tails from you, but watching your videos has taught me so much. It's crazy, I would never have undertaken that task without your calm, soothing voice and your easy to follow videos. I know this is long but I just wanted you to know. Plus I want to say thank you so much! ♥️

I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS! I WAS FEELING BAD BECAUSE I JUST LEFT CRYSTAL A LONG POST ALSO & I AGREE WITH YOU 💯 PERCENT! SHE IS THE BEST 💝!!! I HAD LEARNED THE BASIC STITCHES IN 5TH GRADE. NOW I'M 61, DISABLED AFTER A BACK INJURY & FAILED SURGERY & I WENT FROM SUPER ACTIVE TO NOTHING BUT DEPRESSED & I WAS GOING NUTS!!!. MY HUSBAND GOT VERY SICK, HAD 2 HEART SURGERIES LAST YEAR & HE WAS ALWAYS COLD. WE COULD NOT FIND A BEANIE THAT WOULD STAY ON HIS HEAD SO I MADE HIM 2 & THEY STAY ON HIS HEAD & HE LOVES THEM 😊! THEN I COULDN'T STOP CROCHETING BEANIES FOR EVERYONE, LOL 😂! SO THAT WAS THE START TO MY LOVE OF CROCHETING & THE GREATEST THERAPY FOR ME 🙏✝💝! BUT I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH SOME OF MY CROCHETING SO I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT THE LORD LED ME TO CRYSTAL'S UA-cam TUTORIAL'S & I OR MY HUSBAND CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MUCH I HAVE LEARNED FROM HER IN THE LAST 2-3 WEEK'S. I TOOK A BREAK FROM CROCHETING TO GO TO "CRYSTAL'S SCHOOL OF CROCHETING" 😊💝! HONESTLY, THAT'S ALL I HAVE DONE IS WATCH HER HANDS & EVERY STITCH SHE MAKES & I LISTEN TO HER CALMING VOICE & SHE IS AMAZING! GOD DEFINITELY BLESSED HER WITH AN AWESOME TALENT & I LOVE HER ARTWORK 💝!!! I CAN TELL HER HEART IS INTO EVERYTHING SHE CREATES & I AM LIKE YOU, I JUST CAN'T THANK HER ENOUGH 😊💝!!! I'M PRAYING THAT OUR HEARTFELT STORY'S WILL HELP HER REALIZE WHAT A TRUE GIFT SHE IS TO ALL OF US 🙏✝💝! GOD BLESS & HAVE A GREAT EVENING & AN EVEN BETTER TOMORROW 🙏✝💝!

Crystal, you are such a blessing! You are an expert! You are VERY loved by many, including me. ☺️ You wouldn’t have the almost 300,000 subscribers if you weren’t a very special woman. Love your family, the support they give you, especially your husband, that’s such a blessing!! I suffer from chronic migraines and I watch you making something and it helps take my mind off the pain (that and meds 😉☺️) I have 8 grandsons, and we just had our first grand daughter 3 weeks ago. Can’t wait to make the navy/white sailor dress, I love that one!. You helped me get through the holidays with your Christmas give away videos. I was so happy to see “the time/length of video” when it was an hour or more. I was like YES! I loved them, more of you, your family and the bunny and puppies!! If you weren’t loved, you wouldn’t have gotten all the kind words of encouragement, love, gifts for you and your family. I believe the Lord put you in my path for a reason. I’ve been a subscriber for a while, but I normally don’t comment. I struggle with “writing”. I am thankful for you and your family, for you being you, and sharing your talent with the world. Love y’all, Gods blessings!

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for these tips!!! I was taught to crochet by my aunt & my 4th grade teacher & that was 35 to 37 years ago and I think they must have both taught me the traditional way because getting my edges straight has always been a struggle. UNTIL NOW! Plus I'm a visual learner, so actually SEEING how you did it, on top of the fact that you explained it perfectly, helped SO MUCH! 😊😊😊

I just watched this video and I'm 100% agree with Vicki Koch you keep saying in this video and many others that you are not an expert...but you ARE Crystal. The experience the technique the time the love and passion that you have for this beautiful art and the patience to teach and share your tips all that and more are making you a great teacher and expert . If people don't like your tips or know "better" and get mad at you ..knows why or what reason , then is their problem is a lot of ignorance out there. But you give yourself the credit that you have . So to me (and I am a advance
"crocheter" 😆) you are Crystal the crochet expert !!! 😘 I'm still watching your channel because you are one of the 2 best teachers that I have since I re started with crochet years ago. And I said have because I'm still learning from you. That important you are in this world 💕🙏🏻

Thank you for showing us your tip on how to keep the edges straight while crocheting. That will help out a lot when making a scarf . When I make a basic scarf as it gets longer some how my edges aren't straight. And I cant figure out why. I would follow the video like it would say and it would end up not being straight. So I would replay the video a few times so I would make sure I didn't miss anything. And it would still not come out straight. I will have to try that tip when making a scarf again. Thank you again for showing us.:)

I've been struggling with turning chains since I began crocheting many moons ago. You're is, without doubt, the best. And it is so easy! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

If you want to pass your knowledge on you do it. Especially in people ask you. A great tip. Thanks.

Thank you so much!! I just started crocheting last year and when I do my own "freestyle" projects, I always have crazy edges. I couldn't understand it and now, this tip has helped me see why. Thank you again!

Thank you Crystal. You are more of an expert then you think you are. Have confidence in yourself. As with any advice we can take it or leave it. I choose to take it. Makes perfect sense to me. 😍

Wow, Thank You !!!! I have had this problem for ages and never knew how to correct it. I've just done a few rows where I need 29 sts on each row and by following your tip, guess what, I have 29sts on each row. Ma'am I give you a deep curtsy, a massive hug and spin around while jumping up and down. That's how pleased I am. Thank You again.
