Well, many things could be said about this :
-The 28 is a full frame lense not an APS-C, so it make sense it would be heavier and bigger
-The 28 has less distortion, less vignating, less CA, less issues with flare and less focus breathing
-The 28 have better AF in both photos and video ( and it makes less noises )
-The 28, beeing a full frame lense, can be used on a full frame body without having to go in crop mode
-The 28 is in fact partially weather sealed, not as great as a S lense but way better than this 27
Considering the 28 is 299€ ( 349 SE ) against 199€ for the 27 i'd say if you only want to shot APS-C and not making video the TTartisan's make sense, for anything else the 28 is overall better for not much pricier especially if you have both an FX and a DX nikon camera.

When comparing manufacturer's and third party lenses so many people forget, or don't know, that cameras often correct their own lenses distortion, CA etc. so 👍for pointing it out.
I agree about infinite focusing rings. Everyone hates it, I've never heard a good word about it.

When I watch any of your nikon videos it makes me want to pick up another Nikon APSC. There is something magical with that 20mp sensor. Ive had the z50, z30 and to this day after all my GAS episodes I miss that sensor.

Good point you made about in camera lens correction on lenses. It seems every manufacturers are correcting lens difficiency in camera instead optically. Many reviewers are not aware of this lens correction in camera. You have in camera 1. aberation correction 2. vignetting correction 3. focus breathing correction (Sony) and also 4. Parfocal correction (Panasonic).

I think the development of new Lenses go to fast, so the Lens manufactors cut corners and let software do the job, but I want the Lenses to perform, not the software. I would fx have loved the if the new compact Sigma series did perform optically and not with software.

I agree that ALL Lenses should have an aperture ring !

    • @caw25sha

And a proper focusing ring that just moves between infinity and closest focusing distance, and with distances marked.

Absolutely! I wish Olympus/Canon/Nikon can adapt and include aperture rings!

Oh yes, that's one reason I love Olympus/OM PRO lenses, they have definite ends in manual focus ring and distance marks!

Nope. Use a wheel since my Dynax 7d, and still at my Z Nikons (50, 7, 6II). Even with my Viltrox lenses with their rings in Automatic.

The focusing problems seems to me to depend of the camera more than the lens !

Big question...you and other reviewers mention that the 28mm would be a 35-40ish equivalent in full frame, but it IS aps-c, so...whats up with that? I do understand the difference between APS-C and FF, but it would still behave like a 28 for the APS-C, correct? I ask this because currently, I'm using the F mount AF-S DX 35mm 1.8 with adapter, but wanted to buy a wider focal length. The 35mm is 35mm in my Nikon Z fc, so this TTArtisan would be a 28mm as well...right?? Sorry if the question is dumb but I'm getting quite confused with how you explain it, and if it's going to produce images with a similar focal length to my AF-S DX 35mm, then there's no point in getting it...right? Correct me if I'm wrong, please 😵‍💫

The poor AF and the vignetting issues are deal breakers for me. It is just useless for street photography, which this lens is aimed at.
Also, I do have 1980s Nikkor AF and AF-D lenses still in use. They are all plastic lenses and still worked reliably. I wonder how many years will I get with these lenses. 3?

That's very good competition for Nikon's lens as you mentioned. It also has very good value in Fuji system compared with native Fujinon.

The Fujifilm 27mm 2.8 is overpriced IMHO, being somewhat more expensive than the 35mm f2. Perhaps not a good comparison but they are each end of the range that could be considered standard.

@caw25sha Indeed. I don't know how does it look like in your country but the price of this lens in Poland has increased for around 50% lately :O
