Great to see that every artistic activity is based on the same pattern. As a comedian, it's exactly what we need to do for the construction of a caracther : lay down the foundation and Structure of it. Then refine details, and then giving the texture, the shading, keeping in it the simplicity of the construction line we establish before. After 6 years, these are still my favorite Jazza videos to watch. I love learning and seeing the creative process and gaining new tips and tricks I never thought about before
Being unskilled at drawing complex body parts, angles, facial expressions, eyes, nose, etc. Now being asigned to a task that I can't even do and doesn't have any experience (talking about animation). Just because my advisor wanted us ( a group of students who aren't experts in arts and animation) to compete against other schools in a short period of time ( since first week of September until September 24. Excuse me WTF.) Just wanna say thanks for everything.
Wish I could thank you personally for this. I've been an artist my entire life and always just accepted that I would never be able to draw people. But less than a week after watching this video, and I've already done 3 human pieces -- in VERY unusual positions -- and only one of them is still a WIP. I made some real strides thanks to this.
Aww you made me remember how 4 years ago I'd spend even 30 min to draw something like a human structure-sketch ^^ Practice makes perfect? you bet! It takes me 30 sec tops to do one now ^^
No prob man! It's well deserved! I've seen other tutorials and they don't go into nearly as much detail as you! You may have things like this, but maybe animating specific things like animals, robots, and particle effects? I've heard from other artists on UA-cam that particle effects aren't the easiest to create/animate. Keep it up man!
+Draw with Jazza Hey there Jazza, i got a question, i really love this, and i will always use this technique of construction, but how should i do it in paper? i am too poor to even get a drawing tablet, in the computer you can resize, easily erase anything, and lots of stuff you cant do in paper, i want to construct fast but i have it hard for doing it without having dark lines, its hard to keep the construction lines as light as possible, maybe just loosen the construction design for more sketchy but maybe that works? maybe the question im asking you is being already answered by myself right now? lol Please help, thanks! :)
***** It means that you buy them as digital files. You download them and then can see them on your PC, Tablet etc. :) Basically it does not matter where you live.
I'm so happy I found this. I cannot stress enough of how much this helped me and how much I improved in a day. Thank you Jazza, if it weren't for you and this video, I think I'd never in a million years figure out how to use my anatomy.
My teacher literally used this video as example for our homework. Jazza best person that can explain art. I'm glad my teacher used this as example lol, this is very good for me as a beginner
Hi Jazza, I like your explanation. Also, as a Tai Chi & Qigong Instructor, I explain to my students, in similar fashion. I do talk about 'The Centre Line,' for good postural alingement, how, and why, we have a strong skeletal system, muscles, tendons and ligaments, which i refer to, working like rubber bands.
+HagalazVA +Edgar Garcia You know it's a quite funny subject: Internet fights! Even more funny is that people start saying things such as pricks about people... BUT they only read like 2 messages! Without their whole life story of course ;) But what I mean it's really easy to start one: just react on any social media thing. YT, vines, Twitter, FB, Insta and SO ON! Hahahaha quite funny right? Oh and if you would like to you may call me a kid since I am really thirteen years old and I live in the Netherlands :D Sooooo just relax people!...
I think the most important thing to make the better drawing is not how much you practice every day but is about how much you love to make a batter drawing 😎😎😎
It's getting the angles right of something that's turned - like a head, and knowing how to keep the plane consistent with all the facial features _also_ looking like they're on the same plane, that I find tricky. Same as when Jazza rotated the hammer and the car. Drawing them flat-on is the easy bit, it's doing it once they've turned 45º that makes me fall over!
You are the man. I have been thinking recently of how to improve my drawing skills and also take my daughter down that road. I think this is the missing link I will watch and give updates as I go along. I’m at 2mins and already excited.
One thing I'm missing in this anatomy construction video is the measurements. I think you're drawing figures 7 heads high right? I was watching some of Sycra's videos awhile ago on his lightning technique for drawing the muscles on arms and legs and he uses an 8 heads tall method. It dawned on me that however helpful your videos have been on what fundamental shapes the male and female body consist of I don't remember you mentioning measurements (although I must admit I haven't watched them all yet) I think why some people watching this tutorial would have problems is because when they implement it the result isn't what they thought it would be. For instance when you draw that little line and dot for the nose and mouth explain why they go there and what the width is. The eyes are usually one eye width apart from each other etc.at what point do the elbows and knees start... When you draw it in 3D perspective you start foreshortening and that is the complicated bit for most because insight in measurement is crucial then. You're absolutely right when you say that people will just have to observe and practice so they will get a feeling for those 'accordion bends'. I'm still at that stage right now so I know. But some won't get that and perhaps get discouraged to continue as a beginner Between you and Sycra's videos though I've already learned so much the past month. I'm already drawing and painting robots in all kinds of complicated poses and perspectives. Followed an art class for about half a year over ten years ago and learned nothing so I gave up. I was just drawing two pillows with charcoal on paper the whole time. But I somehow stumbled onto your tutorials and they inspired me to buy an Intuos and give it another try. I'm so glad I did. So this is by all means merely CONSTRUCTIVE criticism ;) pun intended of course
I've actually decided to take up figure drawing classes and start a group to go out people sketching. Those are probably the best ways to learn what things are common as opposed to what is personal
The last bit about breaking objects into basic shapes and then putting it on another angle really helped! I just we able to draw my first basic car! I feel great about my abilities just with that advice.
i'm gonna start picturing the crf like a crowd chant. over and over with the crowd chant from when i start drawing. I'm refreshing my self on the basics again.
For the first few minutes: okay I got this Jazza- now we are gonna make our own pose Me- Okay this will be easy 10 seconds later- is to stressed out to continue
Dude the things you mention as consequences for doing things the wrong way, you get me, that comisery was as valuable as the very well explained theories!
Thank you. Seriously, thank you so much, this is the best explanation I’ve ever heard, and that’s coming from someone who’s spent at least 5 hours watching anatomy videos
I'm so happy I found your video, the frame lines has always been my weakest part of my drawings, jazza truly thank you. As I'm currently looking to create a body of work based around my family, in a dragonball/comic book direction.
This series is absolutely fantastic, thank you so much for all the hard work you put in it! Learning to draw proportions by copying the process of a pro is much easier than trying to copy from a photo or painting, and you are amazing at explaining! I've been drawing with you for 2 hours straight, I've already learned so much!
I ended up with a velociraptor head instead... what? Then I redid it... now I have a human. I’m better with drawing weapons and monsters, my favorite is medieval... I also watch shad for that reason.
Has nobody thanked Jazza for helping some guides to you guys?Cause This is my comment Jazza Thank you for helping me and I'm trying to be good, but you helped me a little and watching your vids has been making me a good artist not pro enough but soon I'll be like you, helping others so they can be a good artist.Thank you so much.

I am almost 35 years old and starting drawing, but I was almost sure I wont get enough motivation. This is a good explanation why and how to still do try it. Good explanation (even for me, as non-native! english)

X RED LEADER X I never knew Trump wanted to draw....
Trump: Meh... Screw the window.
Lol😁😁😛
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING!
I used to have one of those national geographic 'how your body works ' skeletons. That helped me with anatomy
HE SAID; "AND ALL THAT JAZZ' I'm dead.

Excuse me WTF.)
Just wanna say thanks for everything.
Aww you made me remember how 4 years ago I'd spend even 30 min to draw something like a human structure-sketch ^^ Practice makes perfect? you bet! It takes me 30 sec tops to do one now ^^
Drawing with Loryen Hearing that makes me feel much better about my art.
Lycidas same
Updates?
How you progressing now?
Dude your videos are fantastic, really covering EVERY detail of drawing and design... I may pick up a pencil and take a lot of these cues :D
Thanks for your kind words of support!
Dante Delgadillo 2 years and no reply... what a shame.
This video goes great with your books! Glad I bought them!
Power Surge Thank you so much for your support, it means a great deal to me and I hope you enjoy them!
Draw with Jazza I do! Very much!
+ I live in the US. You know you they are digital books, right?
***** It means that you buy them as digital files. You download them and then can see them on your PC, Tablet etc. :) Basically it does not matter where you live.
Not sure... Debit should work as well... You can ask Jazza if you have a special circumstance
I tried using so many other tutorials/guides for construction, and I swear TO GOD, Jazza is the only one I could click with. Thanks much legend!
I'm so happy I found this. I cannot stress enough of how much this helped me and how much I improved in a day. Thank you Jazza, if it weren't for you and this video, I think I'd never in a million years figure out how to use my anatomy.
Will you cover different light sources on the following videos? I really need that
*looks at screen- sees Jazza drawing head*
*tries to replicate*
*looks at screen after drawing head*
*video has already ended*
I'm in college right now and i need this
Titus Tucker Check out drawabox.com , that also helps me out a ton
+Cerberus317 O. My. Glob. This is so useful! Thank you so much, Cerberus! Cheers
lol dude im literally cramming tutorials before animation college xD
im 11 and i kinda need this
Cerberus317 holy shit that link is going to change my life I've added it to my favourites thanks a ton
No one ever fucking explained this to me.
Thanks, Jazza!
Learn to spell and use proper grammar before you try to troll someone, kid.
Okay, you're pretty funny.
Edgar Garcia It's really shitty that fedoras got a bad reputation thanks to ignorant people like you. Especially because the hat you mean is a trilby.
+Ironmander Channel Nederland whoop whoop

alright we just went from zero to 6 million REALLY fast
I. Still comeback to these from time to time
yo same :D whats up
Its because of you i draw like an artist today
The way you explain everything makes complicated work look simpler. Thanks for the valuable work you are putting out.
I think the most important thing to make the better drawing is not how much you practice every day but is about how much you love to make a batter drawing 😎😎😎
Would you say this is the best way to start learning how to draw people? I’m looking to learn how but don’t know where to start. Thanks!
"A wooden doll"
That would be an artist's mannequin
I have one
Their name is Max.
Noice
lost pencil oh thats a thing! I need one
I have no idea if you are being serious but I also have a wooden mannequin called Alex
Mine is Dregory, and their default pose when not in use is a respectful bow. Like a butler.
Love the gender neutrality
It's getting the angles right of something that's turned - like a head, and knowing how to keep the plane consistent with all the facial features _also_ looking like they're on the same plane, that I find tricky. Same as when Jazza rotated the hammer and the car. Drawing them flat-on is the easy bit, it's doing it once they've turned 45º that makes me fall over!
You are the man. I have been thinking recently of how to improve my drawing skills and also take my daughter down that road. I think this is the missing link
I will watch and give updates as I go along. I’m at 2mins and already excited.
11:15 that is basically my final drawing after all my skill is exhausted and this gentleman is just getting started lol
Thank you for your time. For my art has become better because
you took time to share..!!
One thing I'm missing in this anatomy construction video is the measurements. I think you're drawing figures 7 heads high right? I was watching some of Sycra's videos awhile ago on his lightning technique for drawing the muscles on arms and legs and he uses an 8 heads tall method. It dawned on me that however helpful your videos have been on what fundamental shapes the male and female body consist of I don't remember you mentioning measurements (although I must admit I haven't watched them all yet)
I think why some people watching this tutorial would have problems is because when they implement it the result isn't what they thought it would be.
But some won't get that and perhaps get discouraged to continue as a beginner
Between you and Sycra's videos though I've already learned so much the past month.
Holy shit u just wrote a novel 0_0
UkeliDokeli nice novel what’s it called?
The last bit about breaking objects into basic shapes and then putting it on another angle really helped! I just we able to draw my first basic car! I feel great about my abilities just with that advice.
i'm gonna start picturing the crf like a crowd chant. over and over with the crowd chant from when i start drawing. I'm refreshing my self on the basics again.
For the first few minutes: okay I got this
Jazza- now we are gonna make our own pose
Me- Okay this will be easy
10 seconds later- is to stressed out to continue
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Me: “Oh” “yeah, yeah okay” “oh easy” “got it”
*1 hour later*
Also me: *Types* “How to breakdance”
Dude the things you mention as consequences for doing things the wrong way, you get me, that comisery was as valuable as the very well explained theories!
Thank you. Seriously, thank you so much, this is the best explanation I’ve ever heard, and that’s coming from someone who’s spent at least 5 hours watching anatomy videos
I'm so happy I found your video, the frame lines has always been my weakest part of my drawings, jazza truly thank you. As I'm currently looking to create a body of work based around my family, in a dragonball/comic book direction.
0:31 Jazza knew Trump will be president
DavidJacomeTCP would*
but he's australian.....
Trump is clearly colluding with Australian spies.
I used to have one of those dolls, I drew a smiley face on it when I started using it.
Might get another.
Ahh.... Greatest drawing channel ever... Aaaaaah.. I feel so relieved... I've been tryna understand this for so long..... Boiii
I ended up with a velociraptor head instead... what? Then I redid it... now I have a human.
I’m better with drawing weapons and monsters, my favorite is medieval... I also watch shad for that reason.
Watch out for the dreaded "Comfort Zone". It seems that you're in it already. Don't worry, we all go through those phases.
18:47 "And all that jazz."

I'm trying to make my own webtoon, so I'm learning anatomy.
Has nobody thanked Jazza for helping some guides to you guys?Cause This is my comment
Jazza Thank you for helping me and I'm trying to be good, but you helped me a little and watching your vids has been making me a good artist not pro enough but soon I'll be like you, helping others so they can be a good artist.Thank you so much.
The wire framing to finish the figure will help me a lot. Thanks!
Thanks amigo. Should i be drawing during ? #greatwork #artlife
I noticed the Aussie accent isn’t as strong when he’s in serious mode, but is thick and heavy when he’s excited or frustrated.
Thanks for doing this! It helps so much!
Wow ! This video was really useful ! This video is a revelation for me, i could never draw realistic looking face and I just did it for the first time in my life! Awesome ! Thanks!
Thanks for giving me information about drawing better it really helped me lot
We did this in engineering class I wasn’t really paying attention so thanks
Even tho this is two years old
12:40 I'd love to see people make memes using these faces!
"WE NEED TO BUILD A WALL... with a window in it" - Donald Trump
Dont forget the door. The mexicans may knock but not open! ....i hate trump...
And we're going to make photoshop pay for it.
LOSER
Justin 20000 The Jason Biggs movie? No, it's nothing like that.
Pi-hilist i was quoting donald trump.
I am almost 35 years old and starting drawing, but I was almost sure I wont get enough motivation.
This is a good explanation why and how to still do try it. Good explanation (even for me, as non-native! english)
Hey Jazza, I watched this video probably about a month ago and I’ve learned so much from it and I would like to thank you as now I can draw a character pose quite successfully and it has really changed my point of view on art. So once again, thank you and I love your vids.
