This is the the most organized practical guide I have ever seen that fits my learning/drawing style. Video nicely made! Keep making more. Love his sense of humor lol looking at my art... I can tell what steps I've avoided. It does effect my final drawings... I should be braver and attack those steps.
This is invaluable for me. Truly, thank you for this video. I'm already a world-class author, but the reason I don't have anything to show for it lies in the fact that Manga was FAR and away the best possible medium I could deliver my story through. I have loved it ever since I learned what it was, but have had zero drawing talent from when I was just a kid. My characters, my universe deserves the most beautiful visuals my hands can craft, and I can't wait to continue on this journey for the two and a half remaining years I gave myself. I'm gonna grind on art like hell, my future, and more importantly, my story depends on it. I went from thinking I hated art to realizing I hated being bad at art.... And I can't wait to work my ass off until I can appreciate what I've made as much as I can with people like you!
The fact that he didn't only make an entire roadmap, but also his tutorial playlist, is in order of learning. Rather tham by date, shows the dedication this man has! I am arguably Ok at drawig, but I really wanted to put my shit together and actually git gud. And since I'd really like to make character design and animations on my free time, these videos will become astonishingly useful! This platform needs more content creators of this quality. Keep up the good work 👏
The tutorial playlist is meant to watch top down ? I was looking through it and I see the head video is the second to last video on the playlist. Just makes me question if that’s the correct order or not.
Thank you for the amazing video! Here are some notes I added while watching this. Art Fundamentals: - Simple/Basics - 1. 2:14 Linework: Use DrawABox to learn this. 2. 3:23 Shape Language (Shape Design): taco1704's books or socials for character ref. & "Manga Materials" 3. 4:16 Forms (3D shapes): Use DrawABox to learn this. 4. 5:35 Anatomy (Put forms together in a precise construction): taco1704's books or socials for character ref. & "Manga Materials" 5. 7:03 Perspective (Forms from different points of view & Vaninshing points): Use DrawABox to learn this or Book: "How to Draw" By Scott Robertson 6. 8:58 Gesture (Dynamics): For characters use any "figure drawing" reference resource i.e: LineOfAction, PoseManiacs, Proko on YT, etc. - Advanced - 7. 11:26 Perspective: has different ranges of difficulty; you will notice this with 3+ point-perspective and rotating cubes in space. 8. 12:22 Shape Language: Creating and modifying shapes by "Extruding, carving, or intersecting." YTber ModernDayJames' perspective series goes in-depth with this topic. Also, introduce creating organic shapes into this practice. 9. 13:39 Anatomy(face/head): At an advanced level, you should target each fundamental to specific things you wish to add to your mental visual library. I recommend taco1704, MangaMaterials, & Andrew Loomis to learn how to draw heads. 10. 14:40 Shading/Lighting: Here, you learn about how light interacts with the planes on different Forms. This video showcases the "Asaro Head," which we use to simplify the planes of the face. You'll want to study Values by similarly simplifying forms into flat planes and then making them organic once you understand lighting & shading from the direction of light. 11. Composition: How a creative work is structured in order to communicate an intent to the consumer. This can be seen in almost all artistic mediums, and it is a key step in pre-planning an art piece that brings satisfaction. Study industry Professionals, respected classical art masters, & your favorite advanced artists as well. 12. Rendering & Shading: This is where we establish a step-by-step on how we layer our colors, shading, and linework to bring a certain style or interpretation to a piece. It heavily relies on a deep understanding of Values & Forms. Other fundamentals also apply, such as Anatomy, Composition, & Perspective. 13. FUN: This is a fundamental you'll want to apply throughout your entire journey. A lot of these topics can be difficult and frustrating at times, but if you keep an eye on how much fun you're having messing around, Experimenting, and even making horrible pieces of art, you'll be able to mitigate a lot of that frustration into Fun. Note: Please remember to enjoy doing your art, be silly and loose where you can; and let yourself explore the possibilities. Don't just do studies or practices. Try to get out of your comfort zone or what you've consumed. Mix, match, copy, it is all allowed. Don't let others rope you into thinking you can't copy or trace for learning purposes. And please, please, please... ALWAYS USE REFERENCE. any kind of reference, even if it doesn't match what you're doing 1-to-1. God bless you all and good luck on your artistic journey!
I'm going to be honest, I've been searching the drawing basics for a relatively long time, and I have to say this is the most concise, informative, and helpful 0 to 100 guide video I've seen. Anyone that is starting their drawing journey should definitely watch this video, absolutely amazing !!!
alright if you say so. it's the first video I'm watching on how to start drawing. Indeed I like the way he explains information and techniques. I didn't start drawing yet but it's been on my mind for a long time now
you are such a huge inspiration to me and my art journey, I am 15 years old and I've been following you for so long and you have helped me get to the point where I can challenge even professionals so thank you
@@mollyw1Drawing isn't a talent none of this comes naturally, its all learned, what is a talent is that artists are born with the ability to just not give up.
Truly, if you have decided to grow your art skills through watching tutorials. Then you are on a good path. I can't stress the amount of time I wasted aimlessly doodling to no avail. I finally decided to look up practices such drawing boxes and then moving to gesture drawing and it really did wonders on my progress. I can say that I strongly grew from stage 1 to 5 within a month of giving myself 2-3 hours of practice a day. While he does provide stages to skills, I would like to stress that touching into higher stages may help with the growth of your current goals. Don't limit yourself, making mistakes paves the way for success and no one can judge you for wanting to improve.
That's a double edged sword. My big problem is watching a bunch of tutorials and not spending enough time actually drawing. I plan to end this habit now
@@sugarzblossom8168 please don't give up bro, i know your feeling of suckness and i've felt it when i treid getting good in this specific game but i pushed on because theres light at the end of the tunnel run and try to find the answer no matter what, im still not good at the game now and i'll still lose again and again but i will keep going until i have succeded or the game is over.
00:05 🎨 Marcel provides a comprehensive roadmap for beginners to learn how to draw and delve into art from scratch, irrespective of preferred art styles. 01:55 📏 "Linework" emerges as a fundamental skill, emphasizing the importance of clean strokes with a pencil to enhance drawing quality. 04:35 🔄 Transitioning from 2D to 3D shapes significantly enhances the realism of drawings, applicable across various art styles. 06:19 🖼 Before delving into detailed anatomy, mastering basic human proportions is crucial to avoid disproportionate drawings. 07:10 🌆 Learning perspective, especially one-point perspective, lays the foundation for drawing more advanced 3D scenarios. 08:43 💡 Dynamics play a pivotal role in elevating drawings, emphasizing the importance of implementing dynamic poses to enhance artistic expression. 10:31 ⏳ The timeframe for mastering drawing skills varies individually, with emphasis on consistent practice over time rather than rapid progression. 11:29 🏙 Advancing to more complex topics like advanced perspective and shape design expands artistic capabilities, offering versatility in subject matter. 13:42 🤔 Choosing which anatomy to study (human, animals, fantasy creatures) depends on personal preference and artistic focus, following mastery of simpler skills. 15:38 ✍ The final stages of the roadmap encompass advanced skills like shading, rendering, and composition, offering depth and refinement to artwork. 20:15 🖌 For comic, webcomic, or manga artists, mastering a variety of skills is essential, including advanced shape design, anatomy, composition, and perspective, to create diverse and compelling artworks. 21:37 🔍 The "observing skill" is crucial for artists, allowing them to analyze artworks and understand what makes them effective, aiding in the development of one's own style and continuous improvement.
Speaking as a complete beginner this video has been super helpful in giving me a framework and breaking it into small manageable parts. Thanks for making such a helpful guide!
SAME, my younger brother(8) and me are learning to draw but normally he gets bored of the video within a minute and so do I but this one was really engaging and we both loved it so much.
Is this is really helpful I mean can you see the improvements in your drawing coz giving that much time should get a better result so once again can you see the improvements and it is really worth it or not?
Personally nothing is helping me. I have never drawn in my life. I will just have to brute force with the trial and error method hundreds of times and learn from that. No video no guide can help
THANK you for talking about a skill tree. I've driven myself half-crazy deciding what to practice, because there are so many things to learn. Lines?! Shapes?! Shading!! Perspective!!? Proportion!! Anatomy?!! A skill tree is a great concept.
Man I have been drawing anime for around five years but never I paid attention to this much detail You truly are a legend You have my upmost respect as a artist
I remember when my drawings look so basic, arms were just rectangles and legs never look realistic enough, after I found your channel, now they look more better Thanks again for this amazing tutorial, I will continue supporting this channel to the end of time
Finally, a good road map so I'm not trying to do advanced perspective when I should still be practicing line work. Thank you so much for this video. My practice shall begin!
Bro really if you can't draw good you can become better if you can't draw realistic you can draw after work if you can draw most realistic art in the world now you can try another art styles if you learn all art styles now you can draw abstract it never ends
This is brilliant, Sir. I like how you didn't just pile up the skills one after the other but also provided the REASONING behind each (what in French we call "argumentaire") and why it's there rather than elsewhere. That's brilliant. I'd like to see your long video on composition, that's a topic i can never tire of. You're putting an amazing volume of knowledge on here. Thank you very much for the hard work.
thank you for putting so much time and effort into these videos. they have helped me to gain confidence and improve my art skills better than other tutorials I have watched.
Thank you for your wording! I've been trying for years to just understand what I didn't understand and now I feel like I have a good jumping off point to finally dive into this skill.
This was honestly the best art tutorial I've ever watched, and I have a BIG playlist of this kind of video. I'm someone who often needs structure and specific order to learn things, so this helps a ton in telling me what to focus on when and how much. Thank you for your fantastic work as always, don't know where I'd be without you 🙏💛
Do you recommend any other drawing tutorital videos that you have in your playlist? I'm also someone who likes to have structure and order when learning new things
Vielen Dank, Marcel! Excellent video and very helpful. I'm in my 40s and learning to draw (in a serious, structured manner) for the first time. I'm taking some online courses and spending a lot of time watching UA-cam videos on the subject, but this is a really helpful guide to focusing our efforts. Thank you for spending so much time on this, great work. I will take your advice to heart!
Your videos are the only ones that genuinely help. I watched one of your vids once, and people I showed my recent art to couldn't believe I didn't watch it at least 100 times.
i just realized why I liked this video and why it makes me so inclined to actually improve unlike other videos and its so perfect, bro set it up like a game and not just any game but like cult of the lambs even used there ost when fighting monsters and progressing through levels
Your channel is the definition of peak. Your tutorials are amazing, with you conveying information in a way that is easy to digest, easy to follow, and I always feel like I actually accomplished something at the end of each video. Plus, I appreciate the jokes you incorporate, they always come at a very unexpected time and manage to catch me off guard. Well done, we need more creators like you!
I’m a 10 year old artist that has been drawing since she was 2 and this helped me leaned everything in a hour cuz this was like a little help so don’t expect to immediately become a pro it takes years of practice
I really appreciate everything in this video, including the part where you absolutely called me out at the beginning talking about my adhd brain already sketching and not paying attention. I am here because its very important to learn the rules before we learn which ones we're willing and able to break :)
perfect video imo, every person who is interested in drawing should see it. you explained it literally from 0 to 100 and exactly where to start and which way to go. really motivating once you know where to start
this made me really realize I gotta slow down and truly practice. I just usually jump right in and blindly sketch until I get better but more recently I've wanted to mostly work on detail (clothing, facial expressions, maybe work on my dynamic poses more) this is such a great guide to follow!
Mastery by Robert Greene is a great complement to these videos. Many of the points Marcel talks about are highlighted and elaborated on by Greene with historical examples of strategies and keys to mastery Leonardo maybe being the most relatable. I’m super impressed by the quality of these all Marcel’s videos and super grateful 💎🤝
Thank you DLAS for this extremely good quality video. Thanks to this video I was able to better understand where I was and what I should learn and improve later in my illustrations. It's been 1 year since I subscribed to your channel and it has allowed me to really progress and I'm very grateful to you. In any cases, thank you very much for all helping us to one day be able to draw like a sir.
Wow! I have tried on and off to learn drawing for a while now, but for a person like me it's been difficult mainly due to a lack of concrete way to measure my skill level. Now that there's a sort of "skill tree" where l can take steps, l think l might finally see myself improve! Thank you!
Hi Marcel! Just a quick note to say thank you for your excellent tutorials! As a child of German immigrants in Canada, I've been cry-laughing throughout your tutorials while learning. To that end, I bought the kindle version of Zeichnen like a Sir. Between my prior anatomy education and my roots, I will do just fine with your book being in your most comfortable language.... DEUTSCH!
Thanks you for your your help and support to all of the beginners in art, I’ve been drawing since a baby and have always had a passion for drawing, even won a few competitions, but I love watching each of your videos because no matter how good or bad you think you are, you always learn something if you make an effort of it. Art is a never ending journey for us all and each and every journey is unique. Once again, thanks you Marcel, from both the beginners and the experienced artists. 🧑🏻🎨🙌🏻
Gotta say this is exactly what I needed rn to understand where my skills are and how I can improve them. I’ve been watching some tutorials and all but haven’t had much progress. Great video dude, I’m just happy that yt recommended it to me.
Every time you post a video I learn something new that can be used toward my drawings. Every time I watch a video of yours I get inspired. Every time, I get reminded that drawing well does not happen within a second. And every time you show that drawing is a journey that is fun and exciting! I love how your such a great teacher. You communicate about how to draw so well! I am sure you put ALOT of time and effort into each video to make it something different and informal to help all other artists! ❤ Keep up the awesome work!!!❤
I kiss your heart bruder! I cant belive just how far you've gotten, I first found you back many years ago when you only had a german channel with like 20k subs. and look at where you are now, grown to be such a nice sir.
I can’t explain to you how much this videos helped me. Less then a year ago I was crying over my broken and messed up drawings. But now I have the confidence to continue Thx a lot man I’m thinking of making some pics to send you on ig. So u can see the impact you have :D
I have two more tips as of someone who went to art uni and is interested in making manga: 1. The last point about observation is insanely important. The first uni semester they had us take a course on it. It was called "visual structures" where they basically teach you basic and more advanced spacial/value/ color conections between structures and seeing certain patterns. And aslo what they mean and convey, it's insanely important to remember that how you compose elements on paper also gives them meaning and tells the viewer what they should feel looking at it. 2. The next thing is for manga creation not only art skills are needed. We had a film directing course just to know how to storyboard/make comic because comic uses film making theiry a lot. Some of the things it uses are technical so like how to choose a frame, how to compose your story, how to use light and shadow or the 180° rule. But there are also other that are more connected to visial communication so knowing what composition, perspective and movement convey, it's tied to what I was talking about in the 1st point. Combination of your art skills and the movie making theory will result in your manga/comic looking very cinematic and being easier to read for the viewer. Manga making journey is very complex but it makes it so much more interesting. Don't get overwhelmed and try to improve little by little everyday. Remember we learn our whole lifes and that journey is supposed to be fun. Hope I helped out a bit.
I've been looking for guides on what should I start learning first in drawing and of all the videos, articles and blogs I've seen, this video is by far the best and most comprehensive. It gave me an insight on what skill/s I lacked and what skills I should learn first. You provide explanation on why certain skills must be learned first and foremost before learning other skills. It provide me with a clearer, more practical and logical path in order to learn. I've been drawing for years and There was a point where I don't seem to be improving despite following a lot of art tutorials. Your videos are always beginner-friendly, thorough and fun to watch. They are such a big help in my art-learning journey. You Sir are my hero.
My art journey begins today! I decided to pick up art while I finish my nursing degree as a focused distraction. Learning anatomy and functions while I can explain why they move that way or react that way and then putting it through a visual on paper is going to be a fun challenge.
I don’t know if you’ll ever see this but thank you. I was inspired by someone to learn how to draw and seeing the amount of tutorials on your channel is really helping. They are very fun to watch for someone with adhd and I really appreciate the amount of effort that is put into them!!
I've wanted to learn how to draw for years. This video comes up in Recommended and a few minutes later I am taking notes and scheduling time to practice every step. Thank you for making it so approachable. Precious work you 've done master
I'm honestly super AMAZED by how well this video was edited, animated, scripted and detailed. I really appreciate all your hard work you put into this video. It's absolutely amazing, i don't even know how i didn't watch this video before now, you're super underrated. Tysm and I hope you the best❤
2023 was supposed to be the year when I learned how to draw, despite having the tools and ressources I just had TOO MUCH resources to know where to begin. Someone recommended me your video yesterday and now I have a way more streamlined progression on how to learn to learn how to draw but also on how to learn to learn, literally. Thank you sir, i'll throughouly check your channel and establish a playlist on every skill progressively!
This video was so helpful! Building a visual “talent tree” clicked with me and helped give a clear vision of where to place my efforts as a complete beginner! Thank you for your time and effort in producing quality tutorials/education!
:00000 DLAS YOUR CHANNEL HAS GROWN SO MUCH! MI SO PROUD OF U :> It was u who got me fully into drawing. Without you, I would prob left because no tutorials were helping and I couldn't get anything down now thanks to you Im better!💗
you are literally the best youtuber, first I watched other youtubers but didn't understood a thing but when I found u I thought that this is it. You're very funny and relatable too. Thanks for making these videos and putting so much efforts and thanks for being on this platform 🙂
This is a nice way to frame the gradual build-up of skills. I especially like the separation of "Basic" and "Advanced" anatomy and shading as topics. Part of what stopped me from drawing was how daunting the idea was of plunging headlong into memorizing every muscle group and bone's name. This feels like it would make that task more approachable.
Thank you, dude! Wow, you can pretty apply this video to anything that involves learning and acquring skills from 0-100, not just drawing. I used to be one of the two best artists in my junior high and high school, but only from drawing copies of other objects or characters onto a blank page. I never learned how to draw my own especially human characters from shapes because I never learned from step zero. This video is worth more than a college degree!
Thanks so much for this neat tutorial and the playlist! I've been in such a desperate need of a roadmap to help me know where to even start! I've been wanting to learn art for a pretty long time, but everytime I try to take my first step, I feel demotivated, and usually just forget about it for a while, before trying again, and failing again. Finally decided that I won't be waiting anymore, will try to follow this roadmap level by level. At the time of writing this comment, I'm currently on day one. Can't even draw a line or a curve, starting from absolute zero. I'll edit this comment everytime I feel like I've reached a new level, in hopes that it will keep me hooked to continue. Again, thank you. Here we go, level one. Edit 1, day 2: Currently still on level 1, but I'm definitely seeing some improvement. I was initially trying to use my phone with one of those weird pens that have a round piece of rubber on the other edge, it was giving me a lot of trouble, so I switched to a pencil and some old notebook. (I don't have a drawing tablet or a pressure sensitive phone, and drawing with a mouse is pretty hard). I'll probably start giving level 2 a try soon, probably later today, or tomorrow, hopefully it goes well. (Also, tip: Use the cheat sheet! It helped me know what I should practise!) Edit 2, still day 2: Uh, woops. I thought the second video in the playlist was only level 1. I just realized that I've progressed like, 3 levels. So that's nice. I'll be giving level 4 a try, and if I feel like I still need to improve, I'll practise the first 3 some more. You know, looking back at it, it does make a lot of sense that I felt like my 3D shapes were wacky. My perspective knowledge was below zero. Glad to see that level 4 is perspective. Another quick edit. I uh, got a little confused. Level 4 is actually anatomy, I see why it has to be learnt before perspective, after all, the perspective tutorial requires you to draw a human. That's what I'll be try to be working on today. .. Starting to feel confident, it's so good to have an organized roadmap telling me what to do next, I feel *way* less confused, and it's so refreshing. Edit 3, day 3: Was a little busy today, time for some more anatomy (currently on proportions level one) practice, wish me luck! Edit 4, day 3: Couldn't do much practice today, been really busy. Should have a lot more time tomorrow though, I've got this! Edit 5, day 4: Did some anatomy (proportions) practice today! I can feel myself progressing bit by bit (still in part 1 of proportions though! attempting to make my way up to part 2!), I'm starting to realize that my issues mostly come from doing without knowing, I used to just mimic without knowing why I was doing what I was doing, I'm starting to understand little by little though. Edit 6, day 5: Practised some more, I'd say my proportions in level one are somewhere between scenario 1 and 2. I'll give level 2 a try after I do some quick abstract 3D shape practice. Oh, also, today is Halloween, so, happy Halloween! Edit 7, end of day 5: Didn't do as I said I would, kept goofing around for too long, will do the stuff tomorrow. Also, I read a bit on observation and stuff, I think I have a slightly better understanding of how to actually progress in the part I am in right now (Anatomy: Proportions, level 1). See you all tomorrow if anyone actually reads this (hopefully someone does). Have a good day. Edit 8, day 7: I might have gotten a bit lazy on day 6, so no progress there at all, this time I'll actually continue what I was doing, time for some practice.
Usually with roadmaps like this, it's hard to follow. But you Sir, made an exception. You even give tips to see whether or not we possess the skill yet. So I'll be sure to follow every step very carefully (for my goal of drawing anime/manga). Your effort will not go to waste and any time I see people asking for art advice, I'll share this video with them. That's a promise.. like a Sir.
im going out on one leg here. Ive always loved creative expression and drawing itself, but i don't have money or tools to get cool sketchbooks and pens and stuff. now that ive been doing better mentally ive been able to learn what i kinda like and what i kinda dont. art was one of those things i was naturally attracted to. all i have is my mouse, but i think my love for creative expression, and just that idea of being able to draw things that you want, to take ideas and put it onto paper, its just so fascinating. Im going to commit. I am going to push through. And you, sir (pun intended), are the best artist i know on youtube. Thank you for this guide.
@@slashifyu1453 been practicing hardly but I think it will take more time than I expected. But I have realised that slowly improving is better than rushing not learning anything
Hey you , yes you! Im here to say that you are worth it, you are amazing, you are great and if anybody else says otherwise then you know that they have problems to deal with too so its best to simply turn a blind eye to the mean comments and pursue your passion, i understand it can be difficult to draw as when we draw we only see the mistakes but i believe in all of you , you all have potential to be great artists , now , go grab your sketchbook or a piece of paper, get your favorite pencil and start drawing to your very best of abilities ❤
This guy is insanely hardworking. Like bro, a 9-to-5 job, he runs workshop and training classes AND a UA-cam channel with over a million subs???? HOW TF DO YOU HAVE TIME FOR ALL THAT???????????????
I'm so glad I procrastinated to practice getting better, otherwise I wouldn't have stumbled upon this excellent channel and road map! Thanks Foreign Sir!
I've been drawing on and off for about 1 and a-half years now and I've only recently reached the dynamics stage, I don't think I would've ever gotten to this point as fast as I have with how infrequently I draw, without your tutorials (been drawing more, as of recently). Thx for teaching us how to draw like a sir Marcel 😎.
So I bought a art set on amazon for like 20 bucks, it came with a bunch of pencils erasers, charcoal, a razer blade, a pencil extender, some shaders and a sketch book. I jumped on youtube to look for some guides to start learning how to draw again, I haven't really drawn anything other than a few doodles while at work in almost 20 years. (when i was in highschool). I say all of this to say, this is the first video I clicked on in my search to learn how to draw, i'm 1:39 into your video and I have already hit the subscribe button. Your personality and editing is awesome, and you make me laugh. So thanks!
The video and explanation thru roadmap are great, it help beginner who are confused and felt lost along the journey of art and thinking they are not making any progress, it gives hope, enlightenment and ideas where they currently are or what should they aim to begin with, and also remind me to continue my German language study, thanks. algorithm of youtube are mysterious....and sometimes scary...
I paused the video and threw some shapes together. The dopamine rush of figuring out you can make a head look up or down by orienting some shapes and lines was amazing.

And I can't wait to work my ass off until I can appreciate what I've made as much as I can with people like you!
World class author my ass. 💀
Art Fundamentals:
- Simple/Basics -
1. 2:14 Linework: Use DrawABox to learn this.
2. 3:23 Shape Language (Shape Design): taco1704's books or socials for character ref. & "Manga Materials"
3. 4:16 Forms (3D shapes): Use DrawABox to learn this.
4. 5:35 Anatomy (Put forms together in a precise construction): taco1704's books or socials for character ref. & "Manga Materials"
5. 7:03 Perspective (Forms from different points of view & Vaninshing points): Use DrawABox to learn this or Book: "How to Draw" By Scott Robertson
6. 8:58 Gesture (Dynamics): For characters use any "figure drawing" reference resource i.e: LineOfAction, PoseManiacs, Proko on YT, etc.
- Advanced -
7. 11:26 Perspective: has different ranges of difficulty; you will notice this with 3+ point-perspective and rotating cubes in space.
8. 12:22 Shape Language: Creating and modifying shapes by "Extruding, carving, or intersecting." YTber ModernDayJames' perspective series goes in-depth with this topic.
Note:
Please remember to enjoy doing your art, be silly and loose where you can; and let yourself explore the possibilities.

Depends. If you can't even comprehend the concept then you won't know what to even really do
where do you get your references?
That's a double edged sword. My big problem is watching a bunch of tutorials and not spending enough time actually drawing. I plan to end this habit now

Yeah, how's the drawing?

I have two more tips as of someone who went to art uni and is interested in making manga:
Every time i watch a video of yours i love how well done and produced it is!Not to mention how helpful they are. Keep up the great work!
I don’t know if you’ll ever see this but thank you. I was inspired by someone to learn how to draw and seeing the amount of tutorials on your channel is really helping. They are very fun to watch for someone with adhd and I really appreciate the amount of effort that is put into them!!

as usual these videos are a big help towards my art journey
It helped me know what I should practise!)
Edit 2, still day 2: Uh, woops.
That's a promise.. like a Sir.
Hi brotha did you make any process?
His editing just keep get more insane 🔥
Thank you for this video i have always had a hard time starting out but just getting to know my level and drawing some simple shapes is really helpful
im going out on one leg here.
The fact that Marcus can combine learning and jokes into a great video always amazes me! Keep the grind going! 🔥
i love marcus' videos !
yall his names michael... 🤦
I hate the joke of calling him by incorrect names just because he made a video telling us to STOP doing it. Just call him by his real name :
Maverick.
I'm practicing the basic skill for now. I'll come back after a month to watch the advanced skills .
Updates?
@@slashifyu1453 been practicing hardly but I think it will take more time than I expected. But I have realised that slowly improving is better than rushing not learning anything
1 huge mistake i did was thinking that I know everything. Always start from level zero . There is always more to learn at every stage .
So true bro…almost unreal
Let's keep going and make my mom proud. Her daughter is a skilled painter 👩🎨❤️
謝謝!
I paused the video and threw some shapes together. The dopamine rush of figuring out you can make a head look up or down by orienting some shapes and lines was amazing.
