@@Carriesue1982 I don't agree with all of what you're saying, but I'm not really fighting for account wide attunement. I do think we should base the game on what is more fun and not what things were, but I also don't think that's really an option. We will end up with whatever bliz decides they want to do, and continue playing because there isn't a better alternative yet.

I don't understand the difference in Asmon's opinion on buying boosts with IRL money and buying boosts with your name/popularity/reputation. Like of course Asmongold is going to grind dungeons non-stop, because he has - 1. Friends that he plays the game with that will run dungeons with him. 2. A reputation for being a competent player. 3. If all else fails, thousands of followers that will run the dungeons with him, of whom he can pick the absolute best. I think a LOT of us that play don't have a core group of 4 other friends that can just sit in dungeons for run after run until we are 70, so we would either have to spend time pugging (which could take forever and ultimately just end in a bad group) or do the quest-lines. I find it hard to see a decipherable difference between what he is doing and using IRL money, because both are getting access to exclusive content that you can't access without a specific resource (IRL money, or a close group of friends/a name people know). If anyone has different opinions I'd be genuinely interested in hearing, because I am actually curious why people think it is different.

Yeah, most things are, but the main question should be “Does it feel like homework?” If you are into rpgs and enjoy the content of WoW, then although a bit of a chore, the journey should be fulfilling. If you don’t like that grind, the game might not be for you.

I actually miss the attunement process, It was a super fun thing to do, yes it was annoying as a new player to hit max level and not go do all right away, but the who adventure was so much fun, having to do the dungoens was great fun, I made so many friends as a new player doing my attunements.
Bring some form of this process back.

@@carbonstar9091 this is great content that has players working together and doing stuff in the world too. blizz could always have just adjusted them rather than adding in a bunch of bs qol shit that promotes afk gameplay that isn't fun.

Attunements should be account wide. Otherwise it is like unlocking Nazjatar & Black Empire content for every alt in BFA again.
No it shouldn't, I had alts in TBC and I enjoyed every bit of the atonement process

if attunements are accountwide then anyone who didnt start on week 1 is gonna be fucked because it will be that much harder to find groups specifically to do those quest chains

I was attuned but it must of happened by accident i don't remember any of these quests i remember black morass. i also remember farming motes of Water and Air to make my Mooncloth for my priest gear just to get into Kara
Bro tbc attunements are not that complicated here's karazhan attunement in a nutshell
You talk to the mage that makes you go under karazhan do the little quest go back he'll send you to khadgar do 4 dungeons in total 5 if you didn't do OHF before the attunement go back to khadgar and that's it
I think the Onyxia attunement was waaaaay more annoying and time consuming than the karazhan one
Valheim and WoW classic + BC had one thing in common. The devs of both games are like "here's a world and here's your character now go f* off." Today, it seems like the only reason you're doing anything, game-wise, is to save innocent people from bad people. I'm not a hero. I'm not even a good person. That is not fun.

Forreal, I returned to WoW 6 months ago, after 7-8 years. God damn, even staying moderately competitive is like a full-time job.

Burning Crusade heroics really were no joke.
Anyway, during my adventures back in 2007, I had already had most of the prerequisites to most of the attunements done, so by the time I was raid ready two months after hitting 70 all I had to do was kill some raid bosses or tackle the tougher heroics, namely the trial quests like the Shattered Halls one.
By the time Blizzard nixed the Tier 5 attunements I'd already completed them- those who did earned the Champion of the Naaru title. A whole raid guild on my server up and quit raiding after that in dramatic fashion. Some members who wished to go on and raid joined my guild for a bit.
Many guilds would also skip Magtheridon due to the complexity of the fight and move into Serpentshrine and Tempest Keep instead. I vividly remember gloriously wiping on the first trash pack in Tempest Keep the night 2.1.2 dropped and just like that my guild practically fell apart in the following days
Don't forgot that seaforium charges open doors too. Engineering was nice to have in tbh (don't forget to make your mote extractor ASAP)
Even if its pre-nerf Gruul, they'll still have him down within 24 hours of launch, 110%
People have been doing harder versions of that fight for a decade now.
Asmon, ive never played wow, but i always kinda watched it, i plan to play it when i retire in about 20 years, what do you think the game will look like by then?

It will likely not exist in 20 years, the game is already in a steep decline. If you wanted to try it, now would be the time before its dead.

I did all this yet can only recall specific bits . Like a semi traumatic memory I secretly enjoyed .
I still remember doing the attunements in BC back when it originally launched. Only now, when someone lists all the things that needed to be done, I recall just how much time I spent doing that stuff and just how much of a pain in the ass it was.

A few dungeon runs vs never ending daily obligations if you want to have an at all relevant alt in retail. I know my choice. T5 attunement is the tough one, thanks to needing to run two 25 man raids but thats about it. Just some planning and you'll get it done in no time.
TBC attunements also makes more sense, since you get into dungeons and stuff even and get better gear, to be ready. Two flies with one smack.

Heroics in tbc were fun, cc usage, you worked out who knew their class and who didn't pretty quickly ;)
I need a video where Asmon is saying this is a good decision by blizzard and yeah dood and all that to things he reacted upset by in the past.
I think that he might have been somewhat stressed because of the changes made to the warriors.

This is why TBC was the best. It felt so good to get attunements done and have new content permanently unlocked. My proudest moment in WoW, was loading into Black Temple and whispering my friends to look at the zone i was in, because simply zoning in to Black Temple was an achievement in itself.
I was really disappointed with the WOTLK formula, of new raid patches replacing old raids straight up, instead of having an attunement line.
attunements are for no-lifers,, people have jobs and kids now, dont got time for the tedius crap, back then it made sense for blizzard to make attunements to keep players playing and paying a monthly fee , etc...., not only that , but people player others games 2 not just 1....

Yeah in shadowlands, the Mythic raid and high level mythic plus keys just get handed to us. One time I was afk and just got Mythic Dena 😂😂😂👌👌👌
@@orkunakman1541 The endgame being the opportunity to attempt the raids. It’s not like BFA where I could enter the palace despite not finding the location in the Najzatar storyline. I think it’s just a difference of players enjoying the journey to get to the end rather than simply getting to the end to beat the highest difficulty. Many people found Classic enjoyable despite the decrease in difficulty. I think that’s something interesting to look at.
@@jalferes99 well probably because if everything that the game in this case an mmorpg has going for it are like 10 hard to kill npcs in an instanced zone its generally a shit mmo and only really connects with people that care for nothing else but hard encounters. which of course retail wow is superb at for every expansion since like cata though as a whole still being a shit mmorpg.
game design wise classic sucks ass for a big part but its still a way better experience than retail if you like mmos.

To be fair gruul on the first day seems like a reasonable expectation. Everyone wearing t3 and all makes it so that people can level lightning fast through dungeons and dont have to gear for gruul.
Getting the hp gear for the mage is not an easy task, on top of the mage holding aggro over healers.
@@drackoex i think thats fair to say, however it might be abit cheesy, but using heavy knothide armor kits for the stamina + a few decent rares might be all that the top players need.
Make sure to inspect someone before you invite them to raid. I dont want the boosted Charlie going around leroying every mob and wiping a raid.
The reason heroics were hard was because all tanks were warriors who can't hold aggro on more than one mob so you needed to kill packs one mob at a time while CCing the rest so the tank didn't die because it took so long to kill the packs. Once people figured out Paladins can tank then it was easy mode.
People complained that they had to finish the basic story quest to open up Covenants on their main. I def don't see atonements ever coming back or even progressive gearing.
Some TBC heroics where hard, some where easy but all got super easy later on (as usual).

A terrible thing, in that case. Personally, I quit because literally every bloody dungeon I went to bugged out. Game died before it could become its best.

It doesn't even matter, how quickly the maximum-tryhard-no-limits guys down Gruul. They can do anything on day 1 and TBC certainly isn't a good game to give a challenge to those guys.
It's about how much fun 90% of the players will have in those raids.

Asmongold literally plays wow for a living and he is complaining about doing attunements on multiple characters because it's too time comsuming. He also wants to buy the lvl boost to save time. I mean why does he even play the game when it seems like he don't really want to play the game lol??

People acting like this attunement is hard, 90% of it, you will do just gearing your characters.
All of those attunements were unnecessary since I think only one person was required to have the key for Kara.
That is incorrect; you needed to be at least level 68 and have the attunement complete
@@WoWdragonlink Patch 2.4. 0 (25-Mar-2008): No longer required to enter Karazhan. The key will still be needed (in the absence of an available rogue) to open the main and side entrance gates.
