Going 27 today, with 11 of these years listening to Jawbreaker. Since the very first day, I knew this song would pull me through for years. Thanks for that, you guys.
"You're not a punk, and I'm telling everyone." "Save your breath, I never was one." I don't know... That dismissal of the punk label, and punk elitists, ironically, seems very punk.
Considering where they're from...thee most elites of the punk. Too bad they missed locals like Supercharger and the RipOffs...totally missing real punk rock of the 90s. Who cares? Pegboy ruled this "style"

I dont think some of yall realize how influential jawbreaker actually was, like the dozens of bands that try to copy their sound is insane and they also proved a huge example of what it was to be a "sell out" in the punk community
In the 90s every indie band wanted to be Fugazi or Jawbreaker. Then Emo hit big and it all became fashion over substance. Scott Pilgrim came out and the normies all bit our style. I was not happy.
woah I actually saw the McDonalds and the Bart stop in san francisco on this video. that is awesome and that mc d place is still there after all this time
For everyone saying they sound like so and so. Here's some breaking news. They all sound like Jawbreaker! Jawbreaker was around since the 80's. Do some research. Sum 41 was learning to walk. Even Green Day gives mad cred to JB.
@@焦げ肉 That's true. All I'm saying is that Jawbreaker doesn't get the credit they deserve. If you listen to a song like "want" from Jawbreaker and then listen to blink 182 for example, it's easy to see where that sound originated from. Jawbreaker is what Greenday could have been if Greenday wouldn't have signed to a major label. I have nothing against any of the newer bands. ua-cam.com/video/IvInTQhWkeQ/v-deo.html
If you like this song, or jawbreaker in general, you WILL LOVE the Japanese band eastern youth. It is said that their 1998 album completes the sound that jawbreaker aimed for. Look it up, or look up the song ashioto, some don’t like that song, but I do
Big part for me of pop punk is understanding the lyrics, so not really into foreign language bands in this style. I'll listen to bossa nova or some shit but listening to pop punk in Japanese to me seems pointless
Jawbreaker is one of the very few bands that I would refer to as punk, and that I would also refer to as emocore. Despite their technically being one of the pivotal emocore bands according to the general consensus, and the fact that they therefore would have to be placed into the emocore category if I had to make a designation, they really feel like they can fit into both categories. It has something to do with their unique sound, which is very punk and very indie, more so I feel than many of their contemporaries within the emocore genre. It is hard to pinpoint what exactly It is about their sound that makes me say this, but the feeling is there nonetheless.
