So much as changed .. i'm off too a local location before the end of the season (not the best time to start up again) and its full of pike perch and zander if you fancy a fish with an old fart drop me a line .. tbh i think the chat would be worth the trip 👍
I just caught my first pike about an hour ago, at first I thought the Toby was just caught on weeds but then the rod started to move around, even though it was small is it was fighting really well,I believe it was 5 pound because it didn’t feel like it was straining my 6 pound mono line, I’m really pleased and I now know where and what time pike are feeding
On the canal tomorrow with the lures for pike, fingers crossed. Amazing meeting you earlier. Thanks for the video call with the boy, I wish you all the luck in life. Tight lines
Pike seem to be a bit smarter that all the other lake fish. I mean, they don’t usually just swallow a whole bait when they see one. They observe and try to trick you. Haven’t caught a pike yet in Finland.
I used to, but I lost too many fish as I couldn’t react quick enough when they ran hard! Probably user error, but I feel more in-control now that I use standard fixed spool reels with a quality drag!
This is a wild card but I have a friend from Japan.....serious fisherman ... can you taKe us pike fishing please . Next week....always watcher videos....please hot me up. Macca
@@mattgosling2657 ok to fish for pike in high water temps with subsequent low oxygen? No, unless your going to keep them for food, an exhausted pike will likely die after a long fight in those conditions

Have tried big swimbaits yet? I highly suggest it! However, if you have an addictive personality, proceed with caution....😜
Bite detection is key! They can have a bait in and out of their mouth in the blink of an eye.
And deep hooks they can easily take the bait down and get hooked in guts
