I’m 52. Ive been riding since I was 6 (dirt bike) and have ridden everything under the sun. My grandpas old Indian with a Jockey shift, hard tails, kick starts baggers, crotch rockets…My Livewire Mulholland is the funnest bike I have ever ridden. I ride it everyday. 120 miles is plenty to get me from house to wherever I’m going. And I’m not a left wing vegan hippie. I spent 25 years in the Army, most of that with special operations. If you are considering it, go test ride one.
@@Smart.Potato No vibration. No heat when in traffic. Quiet. I’m on 100% combat disability, so it’s nice not to have to clutch and shift. Even if I wasn’t, it’s such an enjoyable ride to just twist a throttle and go. And go damn fast too. If you want a bike that you can ride from one end of a state to another with your friends at 75 mph with a bunch of stuff, look elsewhere. If you want a bike that’s about the fastest thing out there off a light, that you can chuck around and zip by people and not have to worry about what gear you are in or anything, this bike is amazing. I’ve got my 1000 and 1500+ Ironbutt patches. 120 miles of range is fine for me and what I do.
Dude! You inspired me to jump on my Mulholland, which you saw at the dealership right before your ride, and just go! I had an awesome ride this evening thanks to your video ;) No regrets buying the S2 Mulholland! Also, I had no idea about the Chicane mode! You were right, it’s a ton of fun!
I bought my L1 before the S2 came out, but here's why I have zero regrets: Sport mode is so insane and so addictive! I routinely run across hooligans riding on a you-name-it bike wanting to challenge my L1. Once I put her in Sport mode, it's goodbye, they can't keep up. I LOVE it. I know, it's evil and I can't help it. 😂😂😂
I know you've never tried a Del Mar in track mode, because if you had tried the Del Mar in track mode...you wouldn't be talking about the LW1 in sport mode lolololol. The lighter weight and more narrow profile makes the Del Mar feel even more of a rocket than the LW1
Well said Ben, all these bikes are great, I have a blast on my S2 Del Mar, I tow it on the back of my truck on a hitch rack and go camping, I have the Tesla adaptor and also the 30 and 50 amp for camp sites, best all around huligan and commuter.
Very well done, sir! Bought my Livewire One 2 years ago on Mother’s Day 😅 and since then, it just keeps getting better as I grow to appreciate it more. Went to the HD in Fishers, IN a week ago for my 1,000 routine service and took the Mulholland for a spin. Your analysis is spot on. And I’m relieved actually that as much as I enjoyed driving the Mulholland, I was not tempted to buy it. For my purposes, I chose the right ONE :) But now I want to share some exciting news with you that you probably already know. Yesterday I was successful supercharging my LiveWire ONE using the Tesla Supercharger station with the “magic dock.” As you probably know, the magic dock has a built-in adapter that allows the Livewire to use the Tesla supercharger infrastructure. The other superchargers that are older do not have the magic dock will still work, but you have to provide your own adapter. I got a free adapter by virtue of my Rivian truck ownership when they recently mailed me one. It was a dream come true for me to charge my Livewire at Tesla Supercharger because their infrastructure is so convenient and so dependable and accessible nationwide. Opens up anxiety-free road trip possibilities. 👏👏
Nice! I think if you're choosing between the LW1 and S2MH, it really boils down to range and charging infrastructure where you want to charge. I wasn't aware that Telsa opened up ALL superchargers, just the ones with the adapters built into the charging stall (?)
I disagree that it’s about cheap transport for most - lots of cheaper options in cars or public transport if saving money/reducing costs is the goal. They are expensive, and the cost will only continue to decline (as with all emerging tech as more companies get on board). Riding motorcycles is inherently more risky than any other mode of transport - people get them because it’s fun to do, not cheap to get somewhere.
Chicane mode? What exactly does it do? About to buy a S2 in a month and can't decide between Del Mar and Mulholland. Going to commute 22 miles round trip, with 7-8 miles on interstate (75-80 mph). I have a 06 VRSCR (Street Rod) so love a bike that I can fling around in the Twisties. No off road planned. Suggestions??
“ Chicane Mode mode employs the same peak power as Sport Mode, paired with moderately aggressive throttle response for quick acceleration, while increased regenerative braking provides easy speed and directional inputs mid-corner. This mode permits more front wheel lift and may sustain lift for a longer period than Sport mode. The Traction Control System (TCS) also permits more wheel slip and the front wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) calibration has less intervention than Sport mode. Rear ABS, all ABS cornering control, and rear wheel lift control are completely disabled. This mode should only be used by experienced riders.”
Have you been able to test ride either? The Mulholland has slightly better range than the Del Mar, plus the ergos are super comfy. If you can test ride both, do that. But you can’t go wrong with either one, just whichever style suits you better.
Only got to do a small test ride on both this summer but didn't get serious because didn't know I would be able to get one this soon. Going to go back in about a month to hopefully go on a better test ride on them both. My VRSCR has flatter drag bars and rearset controls so that is the position I'm used to. @@AdventuresonZero
3:51 Canam might be liquid cooled but it's useless... you can't charge it fast enough to make a difference. I'm curios, have you experienced charging slow down with AC charging on S2? If so, it's not the battery, but the charger. Unless they are extremely conservative.
@@AdventuresonZero Well, you are putting the charger in shade too. I've had 5 full DC charges back to back on highway, even if it dropped it didn't dropped below 9kW. About stressing the battery, Teapot One made The Iron Butt Challenge (across UK) on Energica, a little above 48 hours non stop (well... except charging stops). I suggest the watch, it's an interesting video. 😊 So unless it's extremely conservative, probably too much, or the charger is the issue, not the battery. Unless the smaller number of cells of a 14 kW battery increase the load of the single cells, compared to a 21 kW. I should run some numbers, but I don't think there are data on how many cells there are.
The LiveWire One accepts level 2 charging, just doesn't take advantage of level 2 speeds, but does take advantage of level 3 DCFC charging. S2 Del Mar and Mulholland are Level 1 and 2 charging

Curious about your experience. Can you share what it feels like to shift from years of riding old Indians & baggers to Livewire.

All the same reasons I ride electrics, also a vet with 100% combat disability. By the time I'm ready to take a break from riding, it's time to charge

Thanks! They're fantastic all around. I just found some 30amp adapters for my webasto charger, that should allow me to charge at 3.5kW
What hitch rack are you using for this? I'm planning to get one for next season and have been looking at the various brands/models.
@@Drstrapps I have the Versahaul, it's one of the best ones, it will hold 700lbs, have towed several adventure bikes.

So the One is the older, but far more superior F22 Raptor fighter jet. And the Mulholland/Del Mar is the versatile, more affordable F35 Lightning.
I'll have to defer to your perception of those A/C lol - I always though the F16 was the bees knees
For most people bikes are cheap transport, $16k isnt affordable for most.

Livewire 1 👊😎
🤜🏻🤛🏻
They haven’t done any updates on LW1 since the original, if I were to buy a 2024 or 2025 is it basically the same hardware?
There were a few component changes, however nothing that dramatically changed performance or cosmetics, but largely unchanged
Which one is the best for mountain rides?
S2 del mar An AMAZING ride on Harley Davidson’s new electric motorcycle

I want a Livewire One/Pan America. Bigger battery, DCFC, Big suspension, Luggage.
I agree. HD could have moved a lot more bikes had they sold a 'Long Way Up Edition' of the ELW
