Showing the world what's possible on electric motorcycles through my adventures.
Surviving Hurricane Helene on a motorcycle
There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear. What better way to test that theory than riding in Hurricane Helene. After picking up a new fall jacket and grippy Dunlop K180 tires, I wanted to put them to the ultimate test to see how they performed. Little did I know, that I would be the one being tested.

An AMAZING ride on Harley Davidson’s new electric motorcycle

There's something about riding on two wheels through the mountains here in Virginia that refreshes and recharges me. After outfitting my S2 Del Mar with some new, more aggressive tires, I plotted an epic 80 mile route through the blue ridge mountains and it was just what I needed.

Boost LiveWire Range: Essential Tip for New Riders

Getting the most range out of any electric motorcycle really boils down to one key factor: rider behavior. In this video, I share one of my practical tips to getting more range out of your LiveWire motorcycle by adjusting rider profiles to give you more control over rider input.

Regenerative braking is one of the most commonly MISUSED features of modern day EV motorcycles, so much so that you're likely LOSING range, rather than gaining range. In this video, I go over some simple techniques to help get the most out of your electric motorcycle.

Weird bike. You'd think they would take advantage of the lack of a gigantic engine and make it more ergonomic, but no, they copied an ICE bike completely, like they're ashamed of the electric technology. It even has a fake "gas tank". C'mon!
That’s where all the electronic controllers are, and how it inducts air to circulate the top of the battery pack
Your lack of subscribers and views is criminal, this deserves more attention.
All of that will come, just want to take adventures and share it. Appreciate it though
@@AdventuresonZerolove the mindset, keep doing it for what you love don't get caught up trying to just get views if it means you don't enjoy it
That is one of the best looking bikes I’ve ever seen man. I love riding in rainy weather, Hop on my talaria sting sometimes and just explore. Many close calls with tree branches but never got hit like you did man! At least you got it on film though haha!
Be careful of riding in bad weather.
👍🏻👍🏻
Another crazy adventure! Great job, Man! Btw, there’s no way that mirror costs $50. Did you order a new one? I just came back from a ride on my Mulholland and accidentally snapped the front turn signal. I ordered a new one immediately through the dealership and it runs $217!!!
Thanks! Side mirrors are $56.88! Pretty inexpensive, but annoying that they break so easily. Yeah turn signals are wicked expensive for the Mulholland and LW1

Still undecided but im between live wire one and the new upcoming Damon Hypersport
well consider that one of those has been on the market for 5 years, and the other is essentially non-exisitant! Very easy to come up with a concept bike to pitch to angel investors, a whole other story to deliver to market. The first Damon bikes shown were just reshelled Zero Motorcycles bikes!
Nice to know the Del Mar can take all this weather, I would totally do this, nice ride Ben, keep it up, be careful out there

Badass. When you go electric, your life gets better . . .
Well according to another commenter, it doesn’t increase the size of micro organs, so I disagree that it makes life better

Hey Ben I loved the topics you brought. Keep us posted man I’d sure like to go on the “TAT” with you. My experience on the Delmar is a little different than yours. I live near Houston and use the bike to commute but having serious problems with the bike at the moment that have had the bike in and out of the dealership for months now and it’s still having issues😢. Hopefully it’ll all get sorted out here soon and maybe you can orchestrate a big trip with other owners.
Oh no what happened to the bike, what was it doing?
@@AdventuresonZero a couple months back it stopped charging. Tried everything and eventually had to take it back to the dealer. They had it for a couple months and ended up having to replace the entire ECU but it still won’t update and is now in Turtle mode. I got the bike back but have no acceleration and if I drive it too fast it kicks off the motor and I have to pull over. The dealer is waiting for a TCU replacement so that it will update so I’m really bummed and hoping they can fix it. I got mine in January and it’s probably spent half the time in the dealership just waiting for parts. I’ve only been able to put 2500 miles on it.

Zero has great customer service, but their repair policies suck (or at least they used to). I have lots of fiends that have zeros and love them.
The seat!!! Oh God!! The seat hurts! I bought the sports seat and still kills me. The hard edges really dig into your thighs. I wish they would come up a better seat with some actual cushion.

oh wow, sounds terrible! can't say I've had the same experience, hope you get that sorted. Have you looked into an air hawk seat?
Sorry for posting twice, I really wish LiveWire would black out the gray pieces on the Delmar like they did on the Mulholland.

@@robertrobinson2220 you can take it to a shop and have them put cerakote on it, that’s stuff is super tough
@@AdventuresonZero interesting, I’ll look into to it.
Really awesome thx Ben. If you can please post the risers. I’m 6’3 and have the same problems. Really wish there were forward pegs but no place to really put them. I’m excited to hear they are working on a bigger windscreen. The speed screen is just way too small for us bigger guys. I mounted my puig universal on the speed screen mount and it works okay but it wasn’t easy. Is setting your suspension something you could help us out with a video on. I’m 245lbs and the factory settings are way off.
I think eventually there will be, maybe, the ability to add highway pegs? Lots of things in testing and prototype. Yeah the speed screen takes a little buffeting off the chest, but not much. Still looks good though. I can show what I did for my suspension, just take it with a massive grain of salt as I’m no expert 😆 I can cover that in my next LIVE
@@AdventuresonZero sweet, can’t wait, I’m clueless and actually need someone to show me what to do.
it's not too complicated
Thanks for another great breakdown! Very much needed. I cannot wait for those new Mulholland accessories to come out. Now it makes sense why it's taking time.
Welcome! Yep, it’s actually impressive how quickly just two people got these accessories up and running in the short amount of time they did for a bike that was not designed with accessories in mind
Great chat Ben
thanks, bud!
Hey Ben, where can I order your phone mounting kit? I love it!

Curious what type of Bluetooth headset are you using or are you?
Oh and are you considering making a tail toddy kit for the Delmar?
@@robertrobinson2220 I usually don’t use a headset, only on rare occasions. I have a cardio freedom 4+ and a HD branded Sena helmet with built in headset
I bought my L1 before the S2 came out, but here's why I have zero regrets: Sport mode is so insane and so addictive! I routinely run across hooligans riding on a you-name-it bike wanting to challenge my L1. Once I put her in Sport mode, it's goodbye, they can't keep up. I LOVE it. I know, it's evil and I can't help it. 😂😂😂
I know you've never tried a Del Mar in track mode, because if you had tried the Del Mar in track mode...you wouldn't be talking about the LW1 in sport mode lolololol. The lighter weight and more narrow profile makes the Del Mar feel even more of a rocket than the LW1
I understand why you ride them so hard but honestly. Unless they pay you I honestly don’t know how anyone would support them when I was thrown under the bus just saying.
I don't need LiveWire (or any brand) to pay me - and they don't. I have an awesome personal community that financially backs my adventures, gear, repairs, parts and more. I make and sell my own accessories, and that helps fund me as well. LiveWire has sent me parts a few times in the past, and that was part of an adventure series I had already planned before they got involved. I'm under the impression that they sent you a few screens for free, and considering those are over $1k, it's far more money in parts they've ever sent me. Not sure I understand the 'thrown under the bus' statement.
@@AdventuresonZero Never received a dime. I paid $5,500 in total in parts in lifetime of ownership. I had 2 covered under warranty that they are legally obligated too. But when I bring up the failure port to Karim Donnez on Linked in in a professional, to end up blocked, by him, and the company. This is what led to my recent unhinged behavior in the community. On top of this You got people in the community like Morgan that were bullied his whole life and ban people for having a conservative opinion… On top of this, and it’s not personal. But to see all the support you get, when I was having a bad time and keeping most of it out of the public eye, riding to Sturgis before long way up… I’m salty because when your cameras got stolen I personally offer you a couple of mine to borrow, but when I crash my bike I can’t share a gofundme? It’s just a circle jerk and an extremely Disingenuous behavior. I will admit sometimes I can be tough to deal with because I stand up for what I believe in, However I was the biggest supporter of this bike. I have been so turned off and I’ll never buy another EV. But I’ll leave it at that I’m not going to spread hate on your channel I got my own space for that. Best of luck Ben.
Your GoFundMe posts are still up, as well as all of your other posts, not sure what you mean as far as lack of support or being taken down/cancelled. You're still listed as a member in the Facebook groups. I also never asked anyone for financial help for my cameras that was all from the kindness of Diego's heart to start that, and I still personally paid for the replacement of everything. Seems to me that you just need to let all of that go and just focus on your own brand/channel, regardless of other big companies and their employees. Brands are fair-weather friends - you shouldn't depend on them, especially long term.
@@AdventuresonZero I made a post because I had a feeling you delete comments….

Hi, great channel 👍🏻 Used to have a dyna glide sport now ride a BMW CE04 for getting to and from work mainly (80km round trip). Would love the Livewire to replace the BMW and the more I watch your videos the more I want one! The price is an obstacle to a degree. Here in Germany the HD version from 2020 still for 29000 euros (live in Germany), and the Livewire one for 24000 euros. I love the Harley orange but concerned about a 4 year old battery from a 2020 model which has not been driven?! I‘d also. Miss the reverse gear and heated seat and handles which are well used in Winter especially good at -13 degrees Centigrade.
You can have the battery assessed by a dealer - ask for a ‘RESS report’, which will show you what the battery health is. If it’s a new bike, typically warranty on battery doesn’t start until you buy it, but that’s something you’d have to double check on. You really have to try to damage these batteries
how much difference in trip range has regen helped you compared to no regen?
Just depends on the terrain. In most cases, coasting will get you better range as you're not consuming any energy, but building up your own energy by rolling downhill. You will never regenerate more than what you're taking out, so its something good to use ONLY when you absolutely have to stop or slow down quickly, as that energy would be lost anyways.
Awesome footage! I love your vids so much!
Glad you like them!
no level 2 charging? i believe can-am has level 2 charging. to me, that should be factory equipped.
The LiveWire One accepts level 2 charging, just doesn't take advantage of level 2 speeds, but does take advantage of level 3 DCFC charging. S2 Del Mar and Mulholland are Level 1 and 2 charging
Very well done, sir! Bought my Livewire One 2 years ago on Mother’s Day 😅 and since then, it just keeps getting better as I grow to appreciate it more. Went to the HD in Fishers, IN a week ago for my 1,000 routine service and took the Mulholland for a spin. Your analysis is spot on. And I’m relieved actually that as much as I enjoyed driving the Mulholland, I was not tempted to buy it. For my purposes, I chose the right ONE :) But now I want to share some exciting news with you that you probably already know. Yesterday I was successful supercharging my LiveWire ONE using the Tesla Supercharger station with the “magic dock.” As you probably know, the magic dock has a built-in adapter that allows the Livewire to use the Tesla supercharger infrastructure. The other superchargers that are older do not have the magic dock will still work, but you have to provide your own adapter. I got a free adapter by virtue of my Rivian truck ownership when they recently mailed me one. It was a dream come true for me to charge my Livewire at Tesla Supercharger because their infrastructure is so convenient and so dependable and accessible nationwide. Opens up anxiety-free road trip possibilities. 👏👏
Nice! I think if you're choosing between the LW1 and S2MH, it really boils down to range and charging infrastructure where you want to charge. I wasn't aware that Telsa opened up ALL superchargers, just the ones with the adapters built into the charging stall (?)

Dude that did not look fun... but im.surpised the Del Mar could do that. I've been bouncing around on what electric motorcycle to buy. And I thought just buy a 6k cheap solor 2.0 but the del mar impressed me on that drive. I imagine a better tire for off rd but still good on pavement would be even better. I just don't know if I can pay 17k after everything for a electric motorcycle. I wish the sonders bike would have worked out. I was buying 1 of those for sure. And would of payed 8k maybe 9k. They fucked up. They could of changed the landscape. They should of begged Elon musk for backing somehow someway. I can't believe their isn't a Telsa bike. Harley is the only way to go right now. Zero is a company I hate. The way they do business. But im surpised zero hasn't put out a smaller 8k moto. To get people started. Then your hooked and move up the chain. But he'll what do I know. I'm just a dumbass.
Not an adventure until something goes wrong 😉 yeah zero lost my trust a few years ago. They have a worthless repair policy and the components were subpar in the late teens models, dunno how it is now. Energica is a great brand as well, superior customer service. LiveWire is a great company and their bikes are even better, top notch. I put some Dunlop K180s on the Del Mar, and they’re really great! First adventure on them in this vid ua-cam.com/video/PLp-GZI5ooA/v-deo.html
I’m 52. Ive been riding since I was 6 (dirt bike) and have ridden everything under the sun. My grandpas old Indian with a Jockey shift, hard tails, kick starts baggers, crotch rockets…My Livewire Mulholland is the funnest bike I have ever ridden. I ride it everyday. 120 miles is plenty to get me from house to wherever I’m going. And I’m not a left wing vegan hippie. I spent 25 years in the Army, most of that with special operations. If you are considering it, go test ride one.
Curious about your experience. Can you share what it feels like to shift from years of riding old Indians & baggers to Livewire.
@@Smart.Potato No vibration. No heat when in traffic. Quiet. I’m on 100% combat disability, so it’s nice not to have to clutch and shift. Even if I wasn’t, it’s such an enjoyable ride to just twist a throttle and go. And go damn fast too. If you want a bike that you can ride from one end of a state to another with your friends at 75 mph with a bunch of stuff, look elsewhere. If you want a bike that’s about the fastest thing out there off a light, that you can chuck around and zip by people and not have to worry about what gear you are in or anything, this bike is amazing. I’ve got my 1000 and 1500+ Ironbutt patches. 120 miles of range is fine for me and what I do.
All the same reasons I ride electrics, also a vet with 100% combat disability. By the time I'm ready to take a break from riding, it's time to charge
3:51 Canam might be liquid cooled but it's useless... you can't charge it fast enough to make a difference. I'm curios, have you experienced charging slow down with AC charging on S2? If so, it's not the battery, but the charger. Unless they are extremely conservative.
I've noticed that if ambient temps are high, say above 90°F, the charging is throttled. But if I put the bike in the shade, it charges full speed
@@AdventuresonZero Well, you are putting the charger in shade too. I've had 5 full DC charges back to back on highway, even if it dropped it didn't dropped below 9kW. About stressing the battery, Teapot One made The Iron Butt Challenge (across UK) on Energica, a little above 48 hours non stop (well... except charging stops). I suggest the watch, it's an interesting video. 😊 So unless it's extremely conservative, probably too much, or the charger is the issue, not the battery. Unless the smaller number of cells of a 14 kW battery increase the load of the single cells, compared to a 21 kW. I should run some numbers, but I don't think there are data on how many cells there are.
