Understood, this has been highly requested for a while. Great to have it in the Adobe toolkit now. The more in ACR the better in my opinion, as Capture One cannot offer the RAW Smart Object workflow, which I consider Adobe’s greatest strength.
I gain so much knowledge from watching your videos, Greg. Really appreciate you taking the time to put together these walkthroughs. I would have never even known about the features available by holding down alt and shift.
Do you have any online courses?? Anything about luminosity masks? You're a great explainer of things that are harder to understand ... in other words your a great teacher man! thanks
Greg--great explanation and demo on using the split tone wheels in Lightroom/ACR. My workflow is to do my color grading at the end of my processing. So I don't do much in ACR and haven't made use of the new split tone tools. But seeing how you use ACR and the split tone by coming back into ACR after working in Photoshop I can now see how I can make use of those wheels. I have a tool add on in PS that allows me to work with three color wheels and I use it a lot. But now I can see I can get the same results by flipping back into ACR. Thanks for this one.
Agreed, color toning is best done at the end (either the end of RAW processing or end of the overall edit, depending on your needs). Very powerful stuff with the new color grading controls.
thanks for the video, after watching it, I'm now having positive thinking about the new color wheels :D first I didn't like them at all, because most of time, with the light slider, I wanted to affect the lights more globaly, but now, I know how to deal with that :) amazing result btw, some really great changes only with a few simple settings
Great video Greg and very intuitive explanation. Thanks. A question I have (I know that it is basic) is how should I incorporate it in the workflow if I want to do the colour grading at the end of the editing? Should I go back to LR and do the colour grading there or is there a way to include a layer non-destructively in PS? Thanks
@@gregbenzphotography Thanks a lot. That would mean you would need to stamp visible the layers at the end and then apply the ACR filter on a smart object.
Thanks Greg. I found the gradient that you added a really useful way to understand what was happening.
Thank you for the feedback.
I got here from the e-mail you sent to me as a Lumenzia user, I hate to tell you this but Capture One has had this for the last 5 years.

Greg Benz- The only tutorial email that I always open, watch and learn a lot from. Thanks a mil for sharing all your knowledge.
Exellent explanation Greg about new Lr Color Grading tool with few very useful practical tips. 👌Thank you!

Glad you find it so helpful!
Got to be the best instructor on UA-cam! Photos are always spectacular. Could spend hours just watchin you edit pictures👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you, Boap, quite a compliment!
Great video Greg, especially the use of the B&W zones to show the effect more clearly.
I find the global color grade is handy mostly for applying a quick sepia tone to a black-and-white.
Amazingly useful. Top stuff and thank you for this
Thank you Greg! The best explanation I saw of the new tool so far. The explanation with the gradient helped a lot!
Beautifully demonstrated 👍🏼 Thank you very much Greg 😊
You make this look so easy. Have been waiting on this video from you. Thanks!
Excellent tutorial, thanks Greg

I recommend you either do in the RAW, or via ACR on a Smart Object at the end. Smart Objects are the non-destructive option for all filters in PS.
@@gregbenzphotography Thanks a lot. That would mean you would need to stamp visible the layers at the end and then apply the ACR filter on a smart object.
No, just convert to Smart Object with all those layers. Do not stamp, that is a destructive step.
@@gregbenzphotography Great thanks for the tip.
