    I grew up with a 1964 Push Button Valiant. Then we got a 1973 Satellite. Then a small Dodge Colt. Then a Reliant. In H.S. my first car was a 340 Duster.
    Then my dad continued with the Mopars with a 360 two tone green and white lone bed
    Dodge Truck. After collage I had a Dodge Aspen Station Wagon and a 1974 Plymouth Valiant three on the tree.
    Currently at 65 and a half years old, I have an old 1983 Dodge Truck with 3 speed on the floor with overdrive slant six engine. And that is my family history with Mopars!!!

    What a unique ol' Dodge. If the wheelbase is 146," the chassis is for a crewcab short bed. Back then, Dodge would build special orders for the US government; Metal Crafters would do all of the metal fab work. Back in 62, Dodge told the Air Force that crewcabs were coming; the Air Force ordered a load of them, wanting them 'right now.' Metal Crafters fabbed all the 62s, while Dodge tooled up for mass production. Anyways, cool old Dodge, keep 'er going.

    That's a weird sound had a couple old sweptlines make similar noise. Mine it ended up being Alternator bearings making noise. Probably moisture and dirt over the years.

    That was probably a crew cab with a 6 foot bed and it was modified by the military, probably Air Force, for a specific use, like missle transport to the aircraft on the tarmac.

      My day is good, I hope yours is going good too! I'm glad you started a channel, that's awesome! Best advice I could probably give is to just keep doing it. Don't let negative comments discourage you. Nobody has the perfect first video and you'll get better at it over time. I know my first video is pretty hard to watch but oh well! Watch other UA-camrs and see how they video stuff and just do what you like that they do. I got a lot of my inspiration from a bunch of different channels, but mostly Vice Grip Garage, Uncle Tony's Garage, and Nicks Garage! Hope that helps!

    Hey, I’m working on a 1969 Dodge D200. It was my first and is my only vehicle. I’ve been fixing it up and driving it the last 2 years. This summer while I’m home for college I’m doing all the rust repair myself (if I wait one more Indiana winter I don’t think I’d have the ability/time to do it myself, and I definitely don’t have the money to pay someone else with college. Have you got any advice on where I could find body parts (like lower door brackets) and do you have any videos that would help me know what I’m doing first time around?

    • @LambvinskisGarage
      @LambvinskisGarage  Рік тому +2

      Oh man, unfortunately no one makes replacement body parts other than the lower rockers for these trucks, so you'll have to find good used! If I was closer I'd help you out, but you're a LONG ways from me. Best of luck though! Feel free to email me or message me on Facebook or Instagram if you need any parts I could ship!

    Thats an interesting truck. I personally don't think its a military truck. All the X military ones I've seen are OD green or air force ue. The red dosent look military. Looks like someone custom made the bed to haul a camper. Be neat to see that truck in person.

    • @LambvinskisGarage

    • @LambvinskisGarage
      @LambvinskisGarage  3 місяці тому

      @thedodgeman68 yes! It's just hanging out with a bad engine. We've had other irons in the fire to deal with. If I can find another 383 that runs for a reasonable price, I'd put one in it and put it back on the road.

  • @MattsRageFitGarage
    @MattsRageFitGarage Рік тому

    It'd be nice if there were more 10 foot bed trucks on the road. But man, it sounds like rodney knockington resides inside that 383.

    • @davidkeeton6716
      @davidkeeton6716 Рік тому

      It sounds like lifters /rocker arms clicking, not rod or main bearings with a problem. Just needs some Marvel Mystery Oil added to the oil, and a little run time those lifters will pump up. Hell, it may have adjustable rocker arms and a solid cam in it, so just a little adjustment will quiet them down a bit.

    • @davidkeeton6716

    Twenty-five to thirty years ago when I was messing around with 70 and 71 Dodge pickups and slightly earlier. Everybody and I mean everybody asked me why I was bothering to do anything with these trucks. After all they were just old Dodges and they're ugly as sin. Well they were right they were ugly but I still like them. Kind of like if you got five ugly puppies in a litter 🚮 they will go first before the beautiful ones. Then they would laugh at me when I would say he wait about 15 years and these trucks will be in demand. Well I kind of wish I paid more attention to my words. And bought a few more of these old Dodge trucks and hung on them.

      They seem to kind of be on the up and up now! They'll never be as popular as the Chevy and Ford counterparts unfortunately. But I still love them.
