MY TIPS | How to Keep Food in the Lunchbox HOT!

Since MontiiCo released their brand new insulated food jar designs last week, I've had lots of questions about the best way to keep food hot inside for as long as possible 🔥🔥 So here are my tips 💁‍♀️

I thought you are supposed to keep the lid on while the hot water is inside

Yea you are but if the thermos is really good and the water is super hot i don’t think it will matter. I suggest you keep the lid on whilst the water is inside to make sure that the heat is packed inside. 👍🏾

what about a fresh cooked food? if put directly in the thermos is that okay?

The pre-heating of thermos using hot water is to slowing down the heat energy transferring from the food to the cold thermos and to outside, keeping the temperature inside longer.
In terms of fresh cooked food, you need to consider what kind of food you put. If it's food that will change texture or taste if overcook or not eaten immediately, u need to take into account if the food should cook to half/fully cooked and what temperature when u want to put into the thermos.
For example, noodle may turn soggy if you put into the thermos after fully cooked because the residual heat will continue cooking the noodle inside the thermos. In this case, maybe it's better for you to half cook the noodle and put into the thermos so your noodle won't change texture and taste too much.

Hi! It sets the inside temperature of the food jar to be hot which helps it retain its heat for longer 😊

It helps the food jar retain its heat for longer - when it's already prepped with boiling water, the starting internal temp is already much hotter

Food taste change in thermos. What to do for that

Depends on the type of thermos you use. These ones don't take on the flavour of the foods, so it tastes the same. A good quality thermos is the key 🙂
