- How do you connect a Blue Yeti mic to an iPad or iPhone?
I've been wanting to hook up my Blue Yeti mic to my iPad for a while now, but didn't know how to. I decided to give this little set-up a try and I was amazed that it worked! I've been using the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter for the past few months to transfer video files from my Sony camera to my iPad and who would've known that I could use it to connect my Yeti microphone too? I hope you find this video to be helpful.

You can, but you will not be able to hear other people. At least to me.
@@koopajay it depends if you change your output to the mic or the speaker/headphone, if u make the output device the mic you cannot hear anything unless you plug headphones into the mic, however if you make the output your general speakers, you can hear with your INPUT device as the mic

Hi Dennis. Thanks a ton. Just to make sure that once I connect the Blue Yeti to the camera adapter and then connect the adapter to the iPad the Voice Record app will use the Blue Yeti as input and not the inbuilt iPad microphone

so you connect up the blue yeti, which is a power hungry beast, 500mA, so you plug in the charger as well. Is that going to keep the battery healthy? I saw someone mention this issue on amazon ( a cheaper non apple version of the adapter) so I wondered. Thankyou
Can a normal iphone charger be a power source for the blue yeti mic? Or do we need a macbook charger?

Amy Wong It should, I have yet to test the capability. Depending on the iPad’s inlet plug, you may need to buy an adapter to accommodate the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter as used in the video. I hope this helps, thank you for watching! 😊

Thank you for watching! Yes it will! For newer iPhones with a USB C plug instead of a lightning plug you'll have to get a lightning to usb c adapter but everything else will work the same.
Can you plug in the lightning ear buds into the power slot?
I use an audio cable to iPhone adapter and it works too

When I have it plugged in on save TikTok live. My audience is hearing my vocals but they are not hearing any music that I am playing through my phone. Is it supposed to connecting to my music too

Please help! When I plug the usb yeti cable next to the lightening plug cable, the iPhone sound goes off. Comes back on when I take the yeti usb cable out? ❤
Is it safe to assume that I have the blue snowball, that it will work as well ? And also, I am recording videos on my IPAD but the voice quality is terrible I am hopeful this will help :)

I’m using the Yeti and iPhone for zoom meetings, but the built-in speakers on iPad stop working when blue yeti is plugged in. The other participants can hear me clearly, but I can’t hear them. I think the iPad is defaulting to the headphone monitor on the yeti but I don’t have headphones plugged in to the yeti. How do I switch the iPad audio from yeti headphone to iPad built-in speakers during zoom meetings? Do I go to settings on iPad or zoom settings or audio program settings? Can’t figure it out.

Is the adapter needed if you have a iPhone 6s+ that still has the 3.5mm jack? That is what I currently have to shoot on and dont want to buy the adapter if i dont really need it.

Yes. With the blue yeti plugged in the iPad will utilize the blue yeti for the audio and use the iPads camera for video.

I mean not only for recording purposes, but for instagram live with someone else, and we need sound output at the same time.. should we use splitter and use external speaker? Or we can still hear sound from iPhone /ipad speaker itself?

Yes, you can use your iPad's or iPhone's camera and it will utilize the blue yeti mic for audio.
Yo very helpful video for future use but I have one thing to ask, does the mic work when I’m recording a screen video for my videos? I play mobile games and want to get my voice to sound clear.
Are you recording the screen with your camera? The built in microphone will record good audio as long as you are in a good environment without wind or too much echo.
I was wondering if the Blue Yeti will be the mic used when I the default screen recording on iPad Air, or will the Yeti only work in voice recording apps :c
