Who says Jesse has ADHD? Has he been diagnosed, or do people just use the term ADHD to refer to someone who gets distracted or whose thoughts are scattered? It's the same with people who throw the term OCD around, calling themselves or others who are organized and focused "OCD". These are medical terms, and true OCD will take over a person's life, as can ADHD. These guys have very good control over their lives, and are very successful, so I am skeptical that they really qualify for these labels, even though they use them themselves.

Love this, and prefer your current location in the barn. Especially when one of the horses puts their head out and other horse activity in the background. Makes your horsey content more relevant and enjoyable IMHO ❤
Love this setting, the chaos, jokes and interaction! Your personalities and relationship shines in these O&A's. Could watch and listen to this for hours. Please keep it this casual.
the segment about humanizing horses made me feel a lot better. I haven’t had a lot of time lately to spend with him and i’ve felt so guilty because i think he must want to see me and waits for me. He’s a horse, he gets food and goes outside, sees other horses and he’s happy😅 maybe it’s not that deep
If he's not over their neighing and crying for you, then he's not pining. I think the more important thing is balance and giving them a range of enrichment but horses also need their lazy down time too. Also I think horse don't over think life as much, they are good at enjoying whatever is enjoyable in that moment instead of pining for something that is not happening in that moment, that's one of their lessons they can teach us IMO. So they can enjoy your company but also can enjoy other times with other pleasant things like just they job munching grass when they are in those environments, I don't think they do FOMO so much like humans do. So when they eat grass, they put their mind on enjoying it and not much mind on missing other types of enjoyment, they are better at living in the moment. That's my impression of them anyway, and i think a lot of it is just that we humans overcomplicate things.
Matt, the education can open doors and some jobs require that education...proud of Jesse to have completed his education in equine management. Pay is usually better too. Love you too Matt
Someone has said it already. You are ying and yang. Chalk and cheese BUT together you are brilliant and I love you both. You are so funny. To an English woman, I could listen to you all day, you speak English with a lovely accent. I think your laid back approach to videoing in the stable area, is spot on. You can easily switch it to somewhere else just for when you have guests. I am just so glad you have chosen to share your lives with us. ❤
also a pet peeve i noticed when matt talked about his accent. pronouncing the r clearly in english is not a “rolled r”. rolled r is what spanish has. what matt is talking about is switching to a rhotic accent, instead of non-rhotic where the r is omitted. 🤓👆
@@maia2828Also if we go down that road 🤓👆 actually jesse has an accent bc everyone who speaks english has an accent. (But it's not like there is something wrong with him having an accent)
@@choco3424 in non-english speaking countries, having "no accent" refers to having one or a combination of the recognized native speaker accents (american, canadian, british, kiwi, etc) including their sub-accents (southern drawl, african american vernacular, scottish, welsh etc). so in europe, a dutch sounding person would be considered having an accent, and that is likely what matt meant when he said that to his ear jesse doesn't have an accent.
@@maia2828 I am a finnish person and having no accent here means having an american accent. Because there are so many native accents it’s hard to say that there is one that isn’t an accent. I do get your point but also personally hate thinking that an american accent is the norm :) (also I do recognize you never said that an american accent is no accent but this was just my finnish perspective)
Keep it Organic guys and Stick to the current format. It makes you much more relatable. I'm 57 and I'm sick of the gimmicks 😢. I enjoy you guys thoroughly. Love Aunty from Australia 🐴❤️
With the overthinking people, as a veterinary nurse, I see this personification of animals a lot!! Trying to explain to people the actual motivators for their animal's behaviour is really hard!
AMEN!!! I am formerly a vet nurse and dealing with humans was the worst part of my job. If only I could work with animals without their owners... I do feral cat TNVR now, so not as many people to deal with though I do get the crazy old cat people...LOL
As for your accents, I personally love the way you guys talk. Jesse should look into doing audio books, his tone a speech structure is so alluring and Matt your accent is simply Devine to listen too, it reminds me of high sophistication and elegance. lol
I LOVE the environment of having the horses in background, with a day to day feel. It is very authentic. The one camera straight on is refreshing, as many podcasts are with mics and headphones and they are a dime a dozen.
I'm happy with your simple sitting & chatting together & more relaxed with horses around you. -- Jesse is right that a 4 year worth of education is NOT the same as a course, plus he was doing work with horses at same time as taking the educational path for overall business horse management. Respect to Jesse on that one!
Yes, a course is a course on a specific subject. It's clear Jesse attended a 4-year educational program comprised of many courses on various horse management subjects. Respect to Jesse on attending the 4-year educational program and finishing school early because he studied at a higher level.
When I was giving lessons I used to teach an emergency dismount. I had to learn it myself after an accident where my bitless bridle broke and literally fell off during barrel racing! To do it properly you kick off your stirrups and reach forward and to one side of the saddle (especially important western with a saddle horn!). You grip the horse around the neck and hold on tightly as you slip off their back. When your feet touch the ground you let go of their neck and push away from them. The momentum will cause you to fall backwards onto your butt and back. It is important to keep chin to chest to protect head and neck (of course you should also have your helmet on) and try to fluidly fall allowing your whole body to absorb the impact and not just land on one bit... Like a wrist. When learning the dismount work with a friend, on the long line, and at a walk to start. Work bareback and with a saddle. Practice until it is smooth and then work at different gaits. You want this to become muscle memory. Practice both keeping a rein and total release. Far better to have this in your tool box and never need it than to be on a runaway horse heading for a busy street and unable to get off safely before disaster strikes.
Matt, I think you have a very healthy view and open mind about horse training, trying your best to understand your horses as much as possible, always curious to hear others' opinions and experience which is really refreshing in the horse world to be honest. Now, about the excessive mouth foaming, this is something that commonly happens when the horse can't swallow the saliva that is produced from having a bit in his mouth. The bit stimulates salivation, chewing, movement of the jaw, and swallowing, the same as when the horse would be eating. When this is combined with exercise, it can become a struggle as he needs to breath more heavily. A horse can't anatomically breath and swallow at the same time, which is why you'll see the excessive foaming as breathing is more prioritized than swallowing, thus the saliva starts to drip and cover the entire mouth of the horse. This may be stressful, as their breathing can become restricted. Even more so if they are also wearing a noseband design which restricts the airways, blocking the airflow to flow smoothly (aachen/ flash, drop noseband etc). When horses run and move their bodies freely, without the influence of a rider or handler (in play, flight, fight etc) they keep their mouth closed, lips sealed, the tongue and jaw is kept immobile and the mouth cavity is rather dry, all of this is to optimize breathing. If you are curious to check out sources and read more in depth, Horses & People Magazine posted a great article on this called "Clearing the Air on the Bit-free Debate" available to the public including the studies referenced. Always fun to share some new research and findings with curious equestrians! 😁
I like the in-stable setup. Also Matt I agree. Horses have different needs than humans. Some are similar like need of companion, but horses live in the wild. They're not gonna cry when they're wet, or when they get dirty...
I think unstable is a perfect name for your monthly programs. The horses being able to poke their heads out while you’re filming is so pleasant and makes what you are doing different from other influencers. It says “We live with our horses. We make fabulous equestrian products. We love our lives with our horses and we make it all work somehow.”
The ‘confusion’ does not negate the education received. Jesse said, it’s for the person to decide. Anyone who completes a four year tertiary education is to be admired. Anyone who translates their energy and attributes into their life education is to be admired. You both have achieved so much and together your different life paths have led to where you are now, complimenting each other. Differences are just that, as with this horse or that horse, accepted. It’s wonderful to be part of such conversations, of course you are both eminently qualified to transport us into your world and I thank you. May our eyes always rest on love and beauty and spectacular horses and horsemanship. Best wishes for your Grandfather and each other.❤
I suspect the problem is some peeps can't easily understand how a horse thinks so when they say 'natural horsemanship,' they are not actually understanding was is natural for that alien horse brain, they can only imagine how a human might feel. They end up applying humanmanship, not horsemanship. We have a lot of peeps like that in this area, it can make for peeps refusing to admit the training method is not working, instead they make excuses or maybe the method works on some horses but not on the more willful ones, but then they just say welp that horse is just like that, they won't accept they might need to try something different. Some places here think even light pressure and release is mean and evil, using a flag is also mean and evil, etc, very hard to train a dominant horse to respect you at all if your only way to train is giving it carrots. They end up with a horse that bites and kicks and then they lock it into a coral with little mental stimulation and claim that will make it happiest, to just stay in there forever, people don't even want to go in to clean the corral because the horse is badly behaved. They think that's nicer than using the flag or some pressure to train the horse for a few weeks so it can learn to be safe. It's so frustrating because I see a lot of these horses just need a bit of training but they won't get it.
OMG Matt that was an excellent vault over the fence, well done you and thank goodness no injuries. As you so rightly said as soon as you were off he stopped....the bugger 🤣 I am sure many of us have experienced the same dilemma, I know I have. "Just be normal" is so right!! I have a "Natural Dressage" background & your critique is spot on. It's the over analytical, hyper focused, "intellectualized" Horsemanship that seems more for the people, than for the horses. More talk, than actual accomplishment. Silence is golden..& animals respond to our choices & daily actions.🦄
I’m really loving your monthly chitchat, and I do think you’re title for a podcast, called “unstable“ is brilliant! U2 guys are absolutely adorable and I am smiling through almost the entire podcast 😃 your passion and love for your horses is incredible and you definitely set a high bar for others in the equestrian field. Keep up the good work guys! Much love from New York, USA 🇺🇸
they probably avoid talking too openly about some topics. we don't want to frighten off special sponsors or door-openers who still have issues like the ones inviting them to Saudi-Arabia...
I think Jesse Looks like an Angel! When I first saw him two years back or so, I was stunned and had to find out who he was immediately. Since then I First only watched his videos and then later the videos of both of you. I really admire how you two build up your companies and careers. So ambitious and so passionate. I was a rider as a Child and teenager but didnt have the drive to Go for a Horse career. It would have been difficult coming out of an Academic family. So I studied African languages and wrote my Master thesis about the role of the horse in Hausa culture. Why dont you do a Series of wild horses? Like the Camargue horses or the horses of Dülmen in Germany. There is a whole culture around it and also is Part of the tourism.
I like the barn location for these. It keeps it real. I think Unstable as a moniker is hilarious because you two are so adorably chaotic! 😂 And never, EVER, let the Muggles get you down! ❤
Each one of you guys is very unique and special. There is not another you in the universe. Please keep your accents! Anthropomorphism is the word that describes human characteristics given to animals. Keep up the great work guys and may God continue to protect you in your Equine endeavors.🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
Long live "Unstable"!!! ✨💥✨ I like the stables for these Q&A sessions, where you can see a few heads coming out of the boxes, but the choice of location is yours, especially if you're inviting a guest. Thank you for being so transparent in your answers. The atmosphere is warm, fun, dynamic, sometimes chaotic but always very pleasant. These Q&A' s are excellent moments of enjoyment and I love them. Thank you both so much 💙
You’re so right about the accents! You are perfectly understandable and both extremely eloquent and Jesse speaks much better and clearer than probably even most actual native English speakers of any variety because have you heard some Americans, Brits or Aussies? Lol. But it have noticed that Matt speaks with a obviously Australian accent, but I can hear him trying to speak to Europeans who speak English as a second language and get the most media from America or at least in Americanized English.
Also I think it’s not course means the same as education, but British people will often say “courses” in place of education. So I see both of your point because “course” would mean one class, not a full education of “courses” that make up an education.
Just love this improv set up. It shows your sense of humor and not taking yourselves too seriously. One thing that comes to my mind when thinking aboute questions is the fact that you guys are a couple. You guys are such lovely examples of choosing your own route, being authentic and natural about that. True story: I first got to know you by stories of the daughters of my friend. I was like 45 years old and they were app. 10-13 years old. And the were head over heals in love with you guys. Talking posters in their bedroom. Just so sweet. I took them to horse event and we got to talking about you. Somehow it got to whether you had girlfriends. And then I suggested that you might be a couple. Major shock at first. And laughter and judgement. Responses that sounded like they had heard other people saying these things. But also a moment in which I could tell them that you still were both lovely boys, great horsemen and good entertainers. And that got them thinking I guess. Months later somehow the subject came up again. And there was non of the awkwardness. They had completely accepted that these two great guys are a couple, but still interesting to follow, etc. Great experience for me to see the girls come to terms with some people being gay and still be great people. So thanks!! My question is: are you ever aware of this side to your fame and how do you think about this? Love, Daniëlle
Learning to accept people as they are and without judgment is an important lesson in life and should start early as you did with the girls.. I couldn't imagine Matt and Jesse with anyone except each other.. definitely the way it was meant to be ❤❤
Great Q&A gentleman. I grew up on a 200-acre dairy farm and we always had Belgian Draught horses. Jesse is right owning horses is a 24/7 life comment. My father at the age of 50 converted the farm into a full board stables. After I retired from teaching I took over the farm and I personally own 1 Belgian and a Shetland Stallion along with boarding 20 other horses. At the age of 74, I only tend to my Belgian and Shetland since I got them both when they were yearlings. My Belgian Hilda is an 1800-pound overgrown lap dog who loves attention. I ride her daily and Jess my Shetland has to accompany us or he has a hissyfit if he is left behind. The bond between a man and his house is a gift and is very rewarding for both. But horses need to be horses and should allowed to form relationships with other horses.
These two are seriously so naturally funny. I died laughing when Matt was describing his “falling off” stories, especially the one with Andoras. Thank you for the entertainment, it is so appreciated especially since my week has been in the pooper.
A few months ago in one of the early videos from the new stables Matt mentioned that Jesse might not get anything done because once he gets talking he doesn't stop.. I had to chuckle all through this video watching Matt often having to wait until Jesse took a breath before he could get his two cents in.. too funny 😂❤🤣.. not to worry Jesse you are the most adorable chatterbox ever.. ♥️😍♥️
I DESPERATELY want you two to move to Australia 😭 We need more equestrian icons here 😂💖 I also feel like maybe you guys should do a tour or something next time you come, so many people love you guys!
I love the natural setting you are currently in as it goes with your natural banter. One of the things I enjoy most is the fact that you two are successful and good at what you do, but also very down to earth. You haven't let success jade you in any way which happens quite often to people. Please continue to stay you!!
Have no real interest in horses but you two, and the way you care for your animals, are just so entertaining in so many ways. Sponsors overlooking your channel cos it’s an “equestrian” channel are definitely missing an opportunity!
I love the monthly Q &A sessions, they let us see you both in a different light and are so educational, entertaining and also endearing. I like the current setup, it is casual and relaxed.
Love your comment on taking the horse's voice away. The consequence of not accepting that our animals (dogs, cats, horses & my guinea pigs) seems controlling and disrespectful. My daughter once had search dogs and I never heard anyone she trained with refer to their dog as a "furbaby." I love to be around horses, but I cannot get in their heads, so I clean tack and admire them. On the other hand my daughter can look at them and interpret what they are trying to communicate. You really nailed it on the head when you said humans can express their own needs and desires through their horses. I wonder how many problems are missed for the horse.
I'm gonna say I like this informal setup, guests are ok, but I think I'd much rather experience your interplay with each other the most, it's warm, and funny and entertaining, as long as you support each other's opinions and ideas, and treat a each other well, and positively, I think people love both of your personalities and affections are compelling and wonderful, you're both passionate and a delight to see I know I always watch as soon as they come out😊
Horses are like people. They have their own different personalities, different intelligence levels. Some are easy keepers and laid back and some are mischief makers. So I disagree with you there. I love these little talk sessions. Maybe a warmer location is nice, but just don't stop. . I love to see you and Jesse having the Q&A sessions. Love you guys.❤
It’s such a pleasure sitting here watching and listening to you both. You are both well connected in your friendship and it shows when you bounce off one another. Just one thing if think people asking where you get your money from is a bit of a cheek and Jesse didn’t like it much. Matt you are the businessman and Jesse well Jesse is just himself. Ginger is so good for you, one tablespoon of fresh grated ginger, seeped in a boiling cup of water for 10 minutes, drained, when ok to drink, it settles all stomach bugs and keep drinking it Jesse ginger is great! You don’t have to answer all questions, especially the personal ones. Your life is your business and you have both worked hard for what you have so good luck in the future and keep smiling. ❤
Your argument about education versus real life experience was so funny because it is such a cultural tell. I have Australian family and we've had the same discussion. They definitely value on the job experience more, while in the States (and apparently in the Netherlands) a good education is the most important thing.
I really liked that you left in the "banter" about the education / course at the end. It is a good discussion! I kind of got the feeling this kind of education (over a few years) is not really a thing where Matt grew up? Matt's approach is more sensible, but personally, I side with Jesse (go for what you are passionate about).
I love these Q&As you’re doing. We get to know you in a different way. You are both brilliant and very enjoyable to listen to. Glad you were not injured as you yeeted yourself over the fence!

@@pm2886 that too. makes sense. maybe a combination of both.
@@embreis2257 He's definitely funny, but he's also definitely highly intelligent.
Love this, and prefer your current location in the barn. Especially when one of the horses puts their head out and other horse activity in the background. Makes your horsey content more relevant and enjoyable IMHO ❤
I love Jesse's accent. Please dont change, its part of your charm❤
Please do not change your ways of speaking!!! It's beautiful to hear you both speak!
So love the accents! Just be natural and don't overthink!
Love this setting, the chaos, jokes and interaction! Your personalities and relationship shines in these O&A's. Could watch and listen to this for hours. Please keep it this casual.
I don't think Matt understood how in depth the education Jesse went through. He was asking questions, but had already arrived at a conclusion.
Wow 😮. Can't believe you were able to throw yourself off of Emporio _and_ over the fence like that without breaking any bones. Bravo!
Well done, Matt!!! Thank goodness for no injuries!
The first minute is always my favourite 😂
I love the barn setting!! It’s cute seeing the horses behind yall:)
the segment about humanizing horses made me feel a lot better.
JESSE is so cute........MATT is lucky to have him in his life.......
I like this area to film in, the activity behind you makes it casual and fun. In a studio setting it will be more formal.
I’m sorry but I’ve never heard the saying chalk and cheese before omg its amazing 😭
Ha ha. Oh bless you. It is quite a common saying in the UK, especially amongst us older folk.@@tylersaarosi5076
Oh my goodness can you two be more adorable, you really make these dull days so much better. Carry on doing you.
Two classy young men and shining examples of what you can achieve.
31:52 - Jesse’s accent is quite Dutch, but he is always so articulate and quite nice to listen to. 😊
also a pet peeve i noticed when matt talked about his accent. pronouncing the r clearly in english is not a “rolled r”. rolled r is what spanish has. what matt is talking about is switching to a rhotic accent, instead of non-rhotic where the r is omitted.
I would have guessed South Africa 😂 but now you say it, i can hear the Dutch
Keep it Organic guys and Stick to the current format. It makes you much more relatable. I'm 57 and I'm sick of the gimmicks 😢. I enjoy you guys thoroughly.

I could literally listen to you guys talk all day long. Very entertaining. Love you both!

Love Jesse’s idea of mucking stalls while having a natural conversation with guests!
I like the setting with the horses in the background ❤🥰
I don’t care what the set looks like, personally. I’m happiest that you all are in a comfortable space to do these videos. The stable setting is nice!
Best wishes for your Grandfather and each other.❤
Matt: Your description of over-analyzing “giving our own emotions to horses” was perfectly explained. I will keep that forever! 🎯 🎯
I like that you do the Q&A in the barn. The horses peeking out of their stalls, horses being cared for... a normal barn scene.
OMG Matt that was an excellent vault over the fence, well done you and thank goodness no injuries. As you so rightly said as soon as you were off he stopped....the bugger 🤣 I am sure many of us have experienced the same dilemma, I know I have. Unfortunately at 73 now I don't plan on doing it again so my TB better still keep behaving himself. Loved the video by the way. You have such a great relationship with each other, long may it continue.
I love the way you are presenting your chat together. It looks relaxed and like a a very friendly venue. Don’t get too posh and formal, I love the way you are doing it now. Jane from America. xx ❤️🧑🏻🦰❤️🐴
Gotta say this,,alot of Americans love your accents and other . It's just so charismatic!
Both accents are great, no need to change anything. Please ask Jesse to let us know how Antares is doing after his surgery 🙏
The format is good, the scout-location is perfect in that corridor with perspective, natural light, and work/horses background sound... Don't change anything ! 👍🏻👍🏻
I love the simple set up in the "un-stable" ❤
Your parents have taught you both very well. Surely they are incredibly proud. 😊😊
I've been reading the comments, and I agree with the folks who say to keep your current setting. I so enjoy the horses peeping out, going back inside, and peeping out again! I agree with the folks who like the name, "Un-Stabel". It describes the chaos in your lives right now. 🐴🐎🐴
Love these informal gatherings in the barn. You two bring the love of the animals , yourselves and your lives into my world for a few minutes and its pure joy.
Leuk om te zien. Ik ken Jesse nog van het moment dat we ik denk 12/13 waren? We reden toen in dezelfde klasses springen in dezelfde omgeving. Ik weet waar jij echt vandaan komt en hoe hard je ervoor hebt moeten werken om dit succes te behalen. Ontzettend knap hoe jij/jullie dit hebben bereikt. Op naar jullie droomplek.

I had to translate the Dutch, but wanted you to know how much I appreciated hearing from a former acquaintance. Their response touched my heart. @@JesseDrent
I smile as Matt worried Jessie is ready...But Jessie is the relaxed one...Matt is like a frantic Nanny chasing a wild child😂🎉
Yoooo, sweet Matt, slow down ... if U talk a bit slower then video will last longer!!!

I like the barn aisle setup! It's nice and relaxed. ❤
It doesn't matter to me where you are. Just be together. 😁 Thanks for sharing your lives with me. 😘😘
If they were no longer together, over half a million people would be devastated & heartbroken! 😢
My questions for next time:
- Do you eat meat?
- Have you gone to any pride events and if yes how was it?
- Do you want kids?
they probably avoid talking too openly about some topics. we don't want to frighten off special sponsors or door-openers who still have issues like the ones inviting them to Saudi-Arabia...
I like this open conversation and both of your accents are wonderful
I didn't know there were wild horses in Germany. Must learn more . . .

I like the stables for these Q&A sessions, where you can see a few heads coming out of the boxes, but the choice of location is yours, especially if you're inviting a guest.
I just love you two you have the best relationship
You both could never look dirty or messy on your worst day....
You both are so handsome.....❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A few months ago in one of the early videos from the new stables Matt mentioned that Jesse might not get anything done because once he gets talking he doesn't stop..
I really enjoy this monthly chat format - always entertaining!
Jesse does have an accent, Matt you are used to hearing his voice all the time. It does sound Dutch. Love the video!
Question for the next one! Do you enjoy your visits in America and how do you think the horse world differs between the USA and the Netherlands?
I hope you’re gonna continue these types of videos for a long time!
I like the stable set up. It’s very cozy and intimate with the horses poking their heads in
I live vicariously through you two with your amazing African holidays. Love watching the horses in the background.
I'm gonna say I like this informal setup, guests are ok, but I think I'd much rather experience your interplay with each other the most, it's warm, and funny and entertaining, as long as you support each other's opinions and ideas, and treat a each other well, and positively, I think people love both of your personalities and affections are compelling and wonderful, you're both passionate and a delight to see I know I always watch as soon as they come out😊
I love these monthly updates! Watching from America and enjoy taking this journey with you.
This video is perfect in every single way! So chill and real. And the background is perfect. These Q&A's are definitely my favourite videos
I really like the laid back setup, even if it's in a different location due to weather sometimes :) it feels very real and unfiltered
I love the set up in the stables DONT MOOVE the camera for the un-stable podcast !❤
Please keep this setup. It is supercosy. Also great to see the horses in the background.
I love these Q&As you’re doing. We get to know you in a different way. You are both brilliant and very enjoyable to listen to.
Glad you were not injured as you yeeted yourself over the fence!
Really enjoy these monthly QA's and like the barn setting its casual.thanks for sharing.
