I have maybe a very personal, idiosyncratic interpretation of this video. However, it makes sense to me, so I will share. (BTW - this was a beautifully filmed video with 2 actors I really admire. Loved it! The minimal electronic backdrop with Yorke's soulful ambience is something I will never tire of!) To me this video is really a metaphor about relationships. The leaning of both characters are them falling for each other, of being vulnerable with themselves. And subsequent scenes are with them dancing and going through cycles; playing the same games over and over again. The woman revealing new aspects of herself to the man; the man stuck in the wheel repeating the same pattern over and over. They see both of themselves in the other, they are mirrors of themselves. The woman is surrounded by dancers (representing the walls she puts around herself) and shows hints of vulnerability through them (who she truly is behind those walls). They are both yin & yang; two sides of the same spectrum. The video ends with them gone. They couldn't connect even though they tried. The camera focuses on the cameras that remain, commenting on the artificiality of love in general as how we wish to be perceived rather than how we truly are. "Why Can't We Get Along" is really a beautiful exploration of this dynamic. It doesn't seek to answer the question, but to explore the question
Wow!! It's amazing!! The music, the coreography... The takes!!! Oh my God, those takes were flawless, were just perfect!!! I mean, damn!! It is art and beauty with a camera, at its best.
“rag and bone is not responsible for any dizziness, nausea, or disorientation induced by this video” I can’t be the only one that felt someone dizzy from the insane camera turns 😂
thecolorofcolour Thanks, I am a lot better since posting this! Time, looking at the relationship for what it was objectively and meeting new people really has helped.
I appreciate the sentiment. But am left wondering about an ad starring two white people surrounded by POC dancing to the sound of a white man wondering why we can't get along. Maybe ask some of the dancers? They might be able to tell you why some people don't want to go along to get along.
The problem I have with Thom's solo work is that it's shit. Too many people are pretending to like it. Feral in my opinion is the worst Radiohead track of all time, and his solo works are just endless variations of it.
nah man, i agree tho that several of thom's solo work doesnt do anything, as some of thom's latest tune kinda generic. but you cant deny that the eraser was/is the tits, tomorrow modern boxes has some great tracks. stating that his solo works are shit is spreading negativity mate dont do such things
Feral is one of my least favorite RH songs but I'm definitely not pretending to like his solo work. The Eraser (with the exception a few tracks) is like a RH b-sides album and it's great, and Tomorrow's Modern Boxes is beautiful ambient electronica (which I loved before I even got into RH). It just depends on taste. People aren't pretending to like this and how you could call all of his solo work a "variation" of Feral is beyond me. Go complain somewhere else if you have to.
Feral is actually one of my favourite Radiohead tracks but I still think this track wasn’t great and I’m v divided on his solo work so like idk, don’t crucify me tho
Came here for Thom.. stayed for the awesome work.

Devoured - love it.
Great music by mom dorke
wonderful yet tough to produce. Bravo.
As someone that just broke up this really speaks to me. I love Thom Yorkes straight forwardness in his music.
Tom Ian Holland True, we I guess I mean more in the sense of raw emotion.
Sorry to hear about your breakup. Hope you're doing better now.

BTW the cinematography is pretty great and thm yorke music is on point
Next time I drop acid I'm watching this video...
Looks like a New Order "True Faith" / Art of Noise hybrid.
Ahh classic Thom Yorke, not releasing his songs.
I wonder if the cinematographer had anything to do with the A$AP forever music video
Play it at 0.75X it almost becomes bhangra music
There will be machines
turn the volume 150% up and lose myself to it
Papu thom

What.
what is this black magic
This has to be one of the dumbest shits I've ever seen. *_(Great soundtrack, of course)_*
cool shots but lazy uncreative editing. I just cant get past the jump cuts trying to be passed off as edgy with the after effects tv static

The Lone remix of Feral is better than the original imho

Shut up you fucking melon.

Pathetic music. How much did they give him for that ?
