I love how she ascending and stops just below the surface where the reflection is and exhales. As if she’s not sure she wants to move on. That’s what it reminds me of. That moment when your finally ready to move on from grief but you take one last look back afraid if you let go of it, your completely letting go of someone or some dream with it
Nearly five years ago I used to dance underwater, too. This indescribable feeling of freedom of movement, emotion flowing through every fibre of your being... I had one big fear left, and it was opening my eyes underwater, but I overcame it, and it added such depth to the whole... Then after I spent two months in shock, followed by recovery from severe psychological trauma, up to this day I hate the touch of water, even showering became a challenge to overcome. I don't even have a bathing suit of any kind, and I just stopped going into any water. Sometimes I force myself into a bath, but it's like torture, and so far nothing I tried helped... And now I land on this channel, and see this, after the "Longest Breath" and I remember the whales, too. Their energy... The vast unknowns of Planet Ocean! The beauty a n d the sadness. And it feels like soul retrieval of sorts. I'm actually crying, and I haven't been able to do that in a long time as well. I apologize for this long comment... But mefeels that knowing how you moved your audience, moved their very soul, through the depth of your own... is worthy of sharing. Thank you Julie! Thank you Guillaume! I have new things to think about...
Such a deeply moving and beautiful film. Thank you! Especially the end….kaleidoscope thank you for this powerful and heart wrenching sharing of your experience….It has left me with an indescribable and compelling yearning to know what happened in the depths of the water that your eyes remembered. As one who is deeply and intimately connected to water thru study and embodiment I know I will return to this wondering about your story for the rest of my days. I am sorry for your pain and suffering and wish for you that one day you will be able to allow yourself to let the waters be your healer. I hold you in tenderness and light.
Julie Gautier's video is simply amazing! "AMA" stands for "Japanese free divers" and it shows diver Julie Gautier gracefully dancing underwater, without scuba gear, just holding her breath. She performs elegant and fluid movements while holding her breath, creating a visually stunning experience. The video is a tribute to the tradition of Japanese female divers, known as "Ama", who collect pearls and seafood from the seabed. The music and cinematography are also breathtaking.
Interpretation aside this performance is/was amazing. As a professional diver I can and will say is that what this woman did in 20 feet of water is incredibly difficult. How she maintained neutral buoyancy through out the performance is beyond me and my 40 years of diving.
Maybe she was weighted a little. The only way I could maintain that rate of sinking would be to have my lungs half-filled with air, which would require me to take breaths more frequently.
@@rfwillett2424 It has most of us very puzzled. Very puzzled indeed...spent some quality bar time swilling beer disguising the possibilities with my work mates. Still, it was a breathtaking performance - pun intended. It is one of two of the great dive films made to date - the other was the girl with the shark .
I’m surprised not many people understood the meaning behind the video, Julie said this video was a personal project about dealing with pain. At the start of the video she’s cradling her stomach, at the end of the video it says in dedication to her tiniest daughter. She mostly likely lost a child and this video is her expressing the loss.
From the video description: "everyone can interpret in their own way, based on their own experience. There is no imposition, only suggestions." Loss of a child might've been her pain, but I think it's choreographed in a way that it can be relatable to all women. There's a lot going on in the choreography, more than just cradling. Some of the movements can be interpreted as dealing with depression or recovery from an illness. The overall story of the video seems to be overcoming obstacles in general, whatever they may be. With each jump, she jumped higher and with more confidence. I especially liked the end. It could be interpreted as someone who felt like they were suffocating or who was holding their breath out of fear or who has been under a lot of stress being able to breathe again.
My God, what beauty, what artistry, what feeling.... mesmerising.... I cannot think of a word that can even do it justice. I imagine she went down several times (when there were scene shifts), though when she rose the amount of air that was expelled from her lungs was staggering. I cannot imagine how she maintained neutral buoyancy. What a mighty work this is. Everyone in the world should see this and have the opportunity to be moved by it.
Tastefully Done ... the shear expression is extremely elegant & moving at the same time ... also the music was extremely expressive as it's timing was insink with her movements . I personally applaud this breath taking piece of expressional art !!! Truly Beautiful & Spellbinding Work
When it comes to neutral buoyancy, the depth is the secret. You couldn’t do this in shallow water without weights- too much volume in your lungs. However, the deeper you go (without scuba gear) the more your chest gets squeezed by the pressure. Eventually the volume of your chest get small enough that you you get to neutral buoyancy, or even start to sink.
I thought it was so beautiful and graceful as I watched it, and then so sad when I found out what it was about. Think of the water as amniotic fluid. Her baby lived "underwater" for 9 months. When it came time to be born, it got closer and closer to the surface but never quite made it. Giving up the air bubbles at the end = giving up life. There are no words for such sorrow.
Having gone through a miscarriage myself, I have a much better understanding of the choice in movements. She captures both the grief, and the beautiful short life of a human growing in the womb. Each leap higher and higher, the baby becoming more and more beautiful with each passing moment, until around 4:40 there is a violent end to a fight for life. Then there is the mom in between these sequences trying to move forward in life, while the mind is still living in the past by moving backwards. I lost my composure at 4:53. And then when the lifeless makes its way out by rising towards the surface. But never got a chance to take their first breath. both heart wrenching and hauntingly beautiful. Thank you, Julie and the rest of the production team.
I think one of the most impactful parts of this (for me at least) is at the end where the breath she's been holding for so long breaches the surface, but she never does...
No i think that parts OF vidéo have been very well « jointe » to seem only one video. Who can stay so long without breath under water ? However it si beautiful
Put the artistry and the beauty of this aside for a second, i just want to say i have immense respect for this woman. She danced i don't know how many meters under water, where you can easily get light headed and stressed out. Even if they had an oxygen mask (or whatever that's called) ready underwater, it is still stressful to dance, shoot, be underwater and constantly have a break to literally breathe. Besides all that she was also telling a story, about herself, which obviously must be very emotional for her. And she was showing her biggest pain in her life as a form of art and dance underwater. That must be so hard, to tell your story underwater (where you're already stressed and under physical pressure) because telling that story must have immense meaning for her and it probably made her really emotional and brought back not so pretty memories. Imagine experiencing that amount of emotion underwater, where you have to dance and focus on holding your breath and balancing the pressure. Wow
Yes, the dance was a technical and physical tour de force. She must have had weights stitched into her dress to achieve the negative buoyancy necessary to do those moves. Where did they find that tank? Achieving such clarity of water is not easy, and then there is the challenge of lighting. Either she waited for the bubbles to clear or she collected her breath so it didn't enter the water. She had shed the weights for the ascent at the end, then exhaled enough air to reach neutral buoyancy before she reached the surface. She is a true artist, opening our eyes to the meaning of life.
No matter what personal pain she went through, she was able to use her body to express pain and struggle in a way that’s visceral and profound. Watching her dance relates to my own deep pain and struggles, as if they are happening now and I am re-experiencing it all, along with her experience of her pain, and I cried. It’s very beautiful.
The beauty of the dancer and the dance are impressionable. The technicalities of the performance even more so. Supporting her breathing is standard film-making now. Controlling her buoyancy, now that is the real feat here. Amazing.
Supposedly this came out 4-years ago. It looks like it deserves major awards. Wow. I hope it has received awards. I'm baffled that I'd casually and randomly see something this good. The work looks like it should be in a museum.
The first times years ago when I watched this video I always thought such a beautiful performance, such grace. I didn't know the story about it. And it's just today when I watched this video again I felt myself there. I lost a baby last week and this dance fell so deep into my heart.. I decided to read the description and started crying. I'm so sorry for your loss
May you receive all the support you need to deal with your loss and make sense of it. May love unfold for you in ever expanding ways and waves. You are not alone. You are loved.
My interpretation of the video: The rain symbolize tears. When you are in the rain no tears are visible. Heavy rain means a lot of tears. When she is in the water it is like she is having a hard time. Why she is in the water? Because when you are having a hard time in life you often feel like you cannot breathe. In the water you also cannot breathe. She is dancing in the water slowly, she is scared, but she dances gracefully. She is making art out of pain. She's not complaining about circumstances, she takes advantage of them. The rain stops. She falls to the bottom of the pool but then she looks up and is slowly going up. To the surface. She suffered for long. She needs to breathe again. Buy she doesn't reach the top completely. You don't get rid of the pain completely. There will be times when you are going to be in pain again. The rain will come back again. But it's okay. Because even the bad thing can be good for something. You can make something amazing out of your pain. Just don't forget to take a moment to breathe, because of not you could drown in a water of pain. 😀 well I just wrote what came to my mind while watching this. Also I am fascinated by this video. Amazing work. 💙
Andrea Kurotova', I'm amazed at the fluidity of your insights. Reading your insights, I relived this film with even more depth, understanding, and wisdom revealed in each chosen word, like another dance step by someone who knows something about the Source of inspiration, healing, and growth. I'm going to share your thoughts and this movie with a dear friend suddenly -- with a long road ahead and a new "amazing life" to create from such pain. Thank you.
This is not easy to do even in short takes. It takes a lot of practice to put breathing on the back burner while performing or doing any task unless you are super focused on that task and not breathing. The risk is building up too much PPCO2 and blacking out. I know the effects of that one; first hand. It would be interesting to watch the action on the surface and her pool support and this looks like the NASA tank.
My dear Julie, what I have just watched is simply and irrestistebly magnificent. The subtleness, the kindness, the expression of deepest feelings, the inner pain, the utmost love, the final submission to our fate as mortals, all flourishing from the slow dance, the water hindering your desire to fly high, to jump to the heavens. How touching, how overwhelming this project is! Kindly excuse the awkward term "project", this is Art, Creation, Heart, Soul. I loved you. Your tiniest daughter (as well as the rest of your children) must be feeling very proud, very privileged to have such a mother. I would be honored to see more of you, if available. My honest, heartful compliments to you and all the people that made fantasy into reality.
Nicholaos I could not say it better than your words...my own speechlessness and awe was matched with your perfect expression.....the one exception is a deep feeling of irrevocable sadness which the ending leaves me to believe that she may have been close to death, if not in reality, in the depth of emotional loss...numb...from head to toe....an amazingly touching performance for certain...💕
If you have lost a child not yet born then this immediately speaks to your heart. I feel your pain and they will always be ours, we hold them in our hearts. To all the lost tiny ones. ❤🌠
interesting interpretation. My wife lost 5 out of 6, and that's the last thing I'd I'd take from this piece. The lone pregnancy to make it (#5 of the 6) turned out to be a perfect baby in every respect, and grew up to be the happiest, most well adjusted and interesting young man I've ever know, so I guess the Cosmos makes amends, sometimes.
@@OslerWannabe i'm surprised thee arent enough ppl seeing this, i wouldnt even call it intepretation coz this actually is the right answer, its in the title
@@MilitantTalker I would have Millie, the beauty was the water she became 1 with the water, effortlessly being in the water. Not struggling, no fear, anxiety, worries, anger, stress, confusion, concerns, she showed us all a place that many of us would only dream of she was at peace. I saw no color of skin, only a human being creating a form of art not on canvas but conquered fear, rising above that which held her captive, a dance, poetry in motion. I love the water, jealousy at 66yrs young. 💖
Whatever the pain for the author really was i wont try to speculate, as it is personal and i deeply respect that. But the brilliance of the video and the way it was executed and filmed was astonishing. It is AWESOME. I hope to see more of this kind. Thank you Julie for this.
Hauntingly beautiful and powerful...i have been reading on the Ama pearl drivers in Japan when i came across this video. I dont even know how to express what i felt when i watched it. All this time, ive wanted to know what its like to be immersed fully in the water and also in sync with it. This video is the answer. The story, the movements, everything is alot of work and i really really respect her for this video and performance. God bless her.
I was asked to watch this video so I could analyze movement for a drawing class. I had no idea what it was. To be honest, I am not a person who has ever connected to dance or has paid much attention to it, but this moved me to tears. Everything about it works together so beautifully, and though I don't claim to understand the meaning, I feel the pain and I'm touched by it.
I’m afraid to breathe while watching this video. I saw Ama again and again I don’t know how many times. It’s probably the most beautiful video I ever saw. It gives so different emotions: I’m crying and also smiling. Thank you❤️
In my best I was the water. Was never a fear of breath but moving with a certain power. We would have appreciated such a wonderful swin together. You are so kind to inspire my manhood.
So deep and meaningful. Thank you for making this. I imagine the the aquatic environment to represent the womb. The woman begins to move as the child life as a fetus begins. Growth, development, beautifully woven together. The intensity increases with the onset of labor. There is a struggle. The child is lost as the woman lies down again and the music fades. But her soul awakes as she swims up towards the light. While her physical body remains below the surface between the physical and spiritual realm, her breath, her spirit, rises and breaches the surface. She lives in the realm beyond our own. So beautiful. So sad. And so full of love ❤.
I agree with most of your interpretations. However, I want to stress that the dancer represents both the baby and the mother, the dance represents both the fetus' gestation and the mother's labor, and the final ascension represents both birth and death. The aquatic environment also suggests a Christian subtext; it is the medium that forms a New Trinity, one of the mother, the daughter, and the spirit. The dancer's posture in the final ascension--an enactment of transcendence and redemption--seems to invoke a feminine version of the image of Jesus in crucifixion.
Thank you. A pure elevation. This feeling of loneliness, of the weight of the mass of water that brings her back down... But the most beautiful thing is probably that she manages to rise up to this bubble that is the unexpressed word, held back, to finally express herself as a deliverance.
This is absolutely amazing! I would love to see a "Behind the scenes" look at the making of this, it must have taken so much time and practice! I actually believed that she was breathing/holding her breath for that long! Beautiful! Wonderful! Fantastic!
World of Water She was definitely holding it a long time between takes! I think the video is slowed down a bit, which leads me to think she was holding her breath even longer than I thought at first
This is most artful, exquisite work I've ever seen. Every aspect of it is literally breath-taking. If youtube has ever provided anything truly moving and enriching....THIS IS IT. Sheer, actual genius is Gautier and those who created this masterpiece.
The longing and pain is palpable. Having read a comment by another mentioning her personal nature of the project, cradling her stomach, dedication- it all points to a loss if a child. 🥺
@@victrola2007 I picked up the same thing, from the very beginning. Water is the element of emotion. It was the only medium by which such an emotion could be communicated so deeply.
She. Is. The. Most. Beautiful. Dancer. Not me shaking, struggling to type. This IS the most staggeringly incredible piece. Bravo, absolutely brilliant. The choreo had to be crazy difficult to emulate in studio. Ariadna, girl you are a force to be reckoned with. And to both of you, doing this alone most shoot days?! If I wasn't such a yapper I'd be speechless lol

@evisceron -- are you lying? -or merely misinformed? Either way, you couldn't be more wrong; it's *not* alcohol; it's water. Clearly, you have no idea of what being submerged in a pool of alcohol would do to a human body. Hint: one of the first things it would do is to destroy anyone's open eyes within a few moments. Nor do you have any idea how much liquid the Y-40 Pool holds. In fact, it's 4,300 cubic meters of water; that's 4,300,000 liters of liquid, or 1.36 million gallons. I doubt that much clear alcohol is produced in the entire world in a year. And a pool filled with clear alcohol would be constantly evaporating, which would not only require constant re-filling, but the fumes as it evaporated would be caustic to anyone at the surface, not to mention flammable. TL;DR: stop bullshitting.
That moment when she didn't reach the surface, but her air did. This is such a powerful film you've created. So emotional. I remember when I first saw this last year. My friend, who had miscarriage, shared this with us. ♥ to all the women.
@@barryryan8267 I understand what you're saying! I think it's complicated to judge amounts of pain, so I won't bother. But I will say I think we are all human and need to look out for one another. Let us all be good to one another because of this.
Merci
Years after I first watched, liked and shared I've come back to experience again. Goosebumps within seconds, tears by the end. Pain and loss made into something truly beautiful, I am not an 'arty' person but this never fails to move me. My heart goes out to her.
I hope this isn’t the case for Julie, but as someone who identifies with some of the insinuations this looks like how I felt when I lost my pregnancies. Holding an empty womb, feeling heavy and alone cause even though both partners suffered a loss only your body lingers with the physical Pain fighting to heal.....but at some point finally feeling able to breathe in finding acceptance. Well this is what my story looked like anyway.
this explains the ending when she the air reached the surface but she never did. It is a pain that can't not disappear and only another woman who went through the same can understand it.
This near-zero-G dance is one genius idea and it's sublime. I'm fascinated by Julie Gautier's utter beauty, grace and mastery. If this was not an ode to women, what could be?! I'm sorry for the initial trauma that you managed to transcend through this film, but also so glad and grateful to UA-cam's suggestions for making me discover your art!

This is an amazing piece of art! After all the struggle and pain portrayed with her graceful dance the moment that her last breath reaches the surface but she never does brought me to tears. Sublime work!
so beautiful . being a dancer and diver since i was young...i tbrought me to tears! I feel so deeply for this video. WHen i am underwater I try to balance the feeling ofbeing elated and tinge of sadness for the ocean and i sometimes dance when i am alone when i was out there since i was young . just for me.

One of the most beautiful underwater dance where the dancer soul pain is evident in the beginning, ending up freeing herself from her real story. She shows the best movements combined in different stages. Wonderful... mesmerising. Endless watching Such a beautiful apnea body and soul dancing
This is so astonishingly beautiful. It gives me many shivers. It makes me feel her pain of losing her child, and the love she had for the child. Incredible dancer, amazing artist. The more I watch it the more I feel it, and the more I understand. Thank you for this pure work of art.

Here is the place we live - between dreams and wakefulness, spirit and body, freedom and limitations, birth and death. The end almost looks iconic, like an ascension. This is beautifully rendered and deeply spiritual.

This was absolutely magnificent! It looks like it was all shot on a single take, it looked so natural! One of the best short films I've ever seen, hands down!
I don't think it was as her position on the pool floor changes around as the shots change, you can tell from the rows of lights on the pool floor. That isn't to decry the effort and beauty of the film at all though...
This is the most aesthetic video I've seen in my life. And I think I know which experience this was. I hope this work gives you strength. All the best and I can't wait for more.

As a professional diver I can and will say is that what this woman did in 20 feet
of water is incredibly difficult. How she maintained neutral buoyancy through out
the performance is beyond me and my 40 years of diving.
That's what has me puzzled.
Incredible!
Most likely low on bodyfat and Wim Hof method.
Lets you empty your lungs and hold your breath for minutes.
I’m surprised not many people understood the meaning behind the video, Julie said this video was a personal project about dealing with pain. At the start of the video she’s cradling her stomach, at the end of the video it says in dedication to her tiniest daughter. She mostly likely lost a child and this video is her expressing the loss.
that was my thought also.
There was some cradling in the coreography as well
From the video description: "everyone can interpret in their own way, based on their own experience. There is no imposition, only suggestions."
Loss of a child might've been her pain, but I think it's choreographed in a way that it can be relatable to all women.
Probably a miscarriage..
@@AliZhao i agree 👍💐
😅bOire de l"eAu c lA stAbilité De l'IrgAnisMe tOut EntiEr pOur 1 EtRe VivAnte ❤
I thought that the video recording was maybe played backwards . Maybe she expelled air at the beginning and then sank down ….
Yes, I noticed that too. Brilliant imagery
@@ASMRyouVEGANyet From that experience, part of her died. Like all pain and grief, they took away part of us.
Wow this perspective has brought me tears
wow, very interestign perspective. well done
@@Demobius Julie Gautier is a deep-sea freediver, with 68 meters record deep reached :)

I was about to write the exact same things.
True
The beauty of the dancer and the dance are impressionable. The technicalities of the performance even more so. Supporting her breathing is standard film-making now. Controlling her buoyancy, now that is the real feat here. Amazing.
There is a video they released called “The making of “AMA”” if you haven’t watched it is very interesting. In French with English subtitles.
The hop and sink at 3:28, whoa, she had no air in her lungs to do that, that was bananas.
At once I’m mesmerized by the grace and beauty and then I wonder how she could manage the physical demands involved. Incredible.
She was negatively buoyant because she was wearing a weight belt under her dress, and there was no breathing to support, she wasn’t breathing

I'm sorry for your loss.
May you receive all the support you need to deal with your loss and make sense of it. May love unfold for you in ever expanding ways and waves. You are not alone. You are loved.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Thank you.
Your interpretation is beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

She presented love, sadness, madness, and deliverance all at once. Bravo.

Get over yourself.
You got this spot on
I agree with most of your interpretations.
Wow. You didn't miss a thing
Thank you. A pure elevation. This feeling of loneliness, of the weight of the mass of water that brings her back down... But the most beautiful thing is probably that she manages to rise up to this bubble that is the unexpressed word, held back, to finally express herself as a deliverance.

Merci
Years after I first watched, liked and shared I've come back to experience again. Goosebumps within seconds, tears by the end. Pain and loss made into something truly beautiful, I am not an 'arty' person but this never fails to move me. My heart goes out to her.
I started watching this and thought "can only be French" and I was right. Stunning ❤
✨❤️✨
It says at the end : to my tiniest daughter. I think your interpretation is right.
That was the first thought I had when the scene opened with her hand on her belly.
this explains the ending when she the air reached the surface but she never did. It is a pain that can't not disappear and only another woman who went through the same can understand it.
I am so so sorry 💔💔😔
This near-zero-G dance is one genius idea and it's sublime. I'm fascinated by Julie Gautier's utter beauty, grace and mastery. If this was not an ode to women, what could be?! I'm sorry for the initial trauma that you managed to transcend through this film, but also so glad and grateful to UA-cam's suggestions for making me discover your art!
Dear Julie, thank you, this is far beyond words, it brings tears and painful goose pumps...All the beauty of a human soul in one piece of art..
The simplicity is deceptive.
Absolutely mesmerizing
I forgot to breathe..dancing in water, the buoyancy, the bubbles.. makes this film so beautiful. Thank you.
The best and best video I have ever seen. What a shame there is no competition in this field
WHen i am underwater I try to balance the feeling ofbeing elated and tinge of sadness for the ocean and i sometimes dance when i am alone when i was out there since i was young . just for me.
my dad is ascuba instructor and my mum is a synchronized swimmer...so i guess that's why i have passion for dance and diving. thank you Julie for sharing...it touched me so deeply.
Elaana Kirsten Balbuena what sort of dance genre is this? If we want to learn for beginners, on land of course? So I can search on UA-cam accordingly
Hina Bokhari modern and ballet
One of the most beautiful underwater dance where the dancer soul pain is evident in the beginning, ending up freeing herself from her real story. She shows the best movements combined in different stages. Wonderful... mesmerising. Endless watching
Such a beautiful apnea body and soul dancing
This is so astonishingly beautiful. It gives me many shivers. It makes me feel her pain of losing her child, and the love she had for the child. Incredible dancer, amazing artist. The more I watch it the more I feel it, and the more I understand. Thank you for this pure work of art.
I have no words for this. Just amazing and delightful. Thank u so much
What soulless being gave this a thumbs down!?
One of the most moving, incredible things I have ever seen.
Kate Phillips key phrase soulless 🐬✨
Those 1 percent are missclicks, actually.
I feel touched. Light and she softly glides. Strength and grace. Beautifully performed and made.
Utter beauty. Breathtaking.
I saw a film from the 1960's with a driver racing across Paris to meet his lover. This is as great as that one. Thank you.
That was combining two difficult things together and making it look effortless.
Just beautiful.
This is absolutely beautiful! It's one of the most beautiful pieces of visual art that I've seen in a very long time. It's so perfect. I'm in awe. Thank you for making this!
Quelle merveille!
Here is the place we live - between dreams and wakefulness, spirit and body, freedom and limitations, birth and death. The end almost looks iconic, like an ascension. This is beautifully rendered and deeply spiritual.
Like others I struggled with one side of my brain that was loving the ethereal beauty of her dance while simultaneously the other side of my brain was struggling to understand the mechanics of how they technically accomplished this amazing and novel feat. Well done. This is something very new and truly beautiful.
This was absolutely magnificent! It looks like it was all shot on a single take, it looked so natural! One of the best short films I've ever seen, hands down!
World of Water it was and she did it all in one breath
I don't think it was as her position on the pool floor changes around as the shots change, you can tell from the rows of lights on the pool floor.
That isn't to decry the effort and beauty of the film at all though...
Sorry for you but yeah it was done in one shot (there is a lot of other videos talking abt it..)
Don't be sorry for me, I'm not looking for an apology...
This is the most aesthetic video I've seen in my life. And I think I know which experience this was. I hope this work gives you strength. All the best and I can't wait for more.

It's definitely one of the most artistic videos I've seen, I'm speechless. But I think you might also like Sigur Ros's "Valtari" ua-cam.com/video/wfJVAoTE2PI/v-deo.html
This is the most profound emotional experience I have EVER had. And the one who have compose this music he have a strait connection to God. This is healing..
Thank you for this art! Life is beautiful even in pain. I breath with Jesus!! His Love to me is like the air in a strong waters and in a fierce fire!
