    Always pay attention to what the dog is trying to say. She might smell a rat, a 2 legged one.

    I’m glad I found your new channel thanks to one of the Silverado forums I follow. It’s nice seeing your face again Richard! watching these videos is calming in a way. Also thanks to your videos and knowledge on modifications I built my first transmission. A 4l65e for my 07 classic Silverado and it work’s beautifully!

      You're right. He's the Bob Ross of transmissions. Somehow makes you interested and want to learn. Really should be teaching at a school. 👌

    Tip on locating 8 bolt cases to use…Look for a metal vent tube, out of all the cores I’ve bought over the years the Chevy cases with metal vent tube have all been 8 bolt cases

    Richard uses the word "billet" interchangeably with heavy duty, high performance, aftermarket, high strength, heat treated and other adjectives. Billet has a unique meaning that has to do with when the part was cast and machined in the manufacture process.

      Yes sir I use the word billet a lot meaning aftermarket heavy duty I could say a Vasco shaft I could say 300 M I could say 4340 there’s so many different variations don’t want to be confusing to people learning I will explain that a little bit better in my upcoming video when I heal up Thank you for bringing it to my attention I will explain it a lot better thank you for your support

    I like where you’re doing the tear downs with the lower roof. I think it helps reduce echo and hollow sound. Maybe even some sound absorption material on the walls in that area might help too.

    To steal the golfing metaphor, it seems to me that changing bad parts is the "driving for show" part of this endeavor, but replacing seals and bushings, and setting clearances is the "putting for dough" part!

    Richard, why don't you repair the planets by pressing out the pins and replacing the gears, needle bearings and captured bearings? Surely such a repair will be less costly than acquiring a new unit? Especially for some of the more expensive sets like that of the 6L80.

    Dont know if you read all of the comments, i would love to know if there is anyone here in the central Florida area that you would personally recommend for transmission work.

    Why would someone convert an automatic transmission to manual, rather than bolting in a proper manual transmission? I don't see the advantage.
    What brand gloves are you wearing? They look like they would have good grip when oily.

    Gotta be honest...I cringe when I hear doorman. Not much luck with that company for sure. Thankfully I don't think that part is that easy to screw up...right? LOL.

    • @SmittySmithsonite
      @SmittySmithsonite Рік тому

      Their electronic parts, like sensors, I'd steer clear of for sure, but something like this is usually not too bad from them. Worst that could happen is it doesn't fit right, or it rots out in one winter up north. The rot can be handled by filling the thing with off-road / heavy equipment style grease to keep the salt off it, or spraying it down with used motor oil, Fluid Film, LPS-3, or the rust preventer of your choice.

    • @WreckDiver99
      @WreckDiver99 Рік тому +1

      @@SmittySmithsonite Agreed...but I've seen so much garbage. Needed a brake bracket...NOT EVEN CLOSE to fitting. I mean...we're talking the holes were 1/4" off. They weren't even drilled the right diameter. took them back and it took us 6 boxes to find ones that aligned right. The guy at the counter was "we hate this company, but it's what we have"....
