    Summary:
    1. Price conveys quality just as much as anything else. -- If they argue on price then they don't perceive quality.
    2. Branding & Status makes a difference - Everything you sell must FEEL high quality from the way you personally dress, to your actual presentation of services and products.
    3. Relationship -- Be real, authentic, how they feel about YOU is how they will feel about what you sell. If you can't sell yourself you not only have no shot, but will be hurting your own brand and reputation. Be a quality human being. Be honest, you can't solve every problem and neither can your product. You want to come off as a friend making a recommendation for a product, not a salesperson. If you can't sit on the same side of the table with them then you aren't in the right spot.
    4. Be an optimist. Take risks. Do the hard things. Success comes to those to venture into the unknown and take risks.

Hi Christine! Though I stumbled across this clip because of the sales aspect, listening to you "connect the dots" for me marks the TRUE essence of a good educator. You took a very "alien" subject for me (sales) and had it "make sense" by relating it to a bigger, more universal concept I'm much more familiar with, being an educator. what a great seminar, her stories shows how people allow themselves to be manipulated by others because they are lying to themselves. The book she was talking about at the end also proves a point I've believed, those with the courage to go out and fight for their dream will most likely succeed those who sit on their hands waiting for someone to hand it to them will never because they never tried, then get bitter towards those who do demanding out of fairness they share it with them.

    Christine,
Thank you for noticing my darling Sable. She was a wonderful companion to my bride and me. We got Sable when our youngest daughter went through a divorce. We say she got the kids, he got the house and we got the dog. We could stand to see her put down, so we took her in. We knew Sable when she was young. She came to live with us when she was 4. It didn't take long for her to adopt us into her pack. We became best friends. Up until that time, we were "cat people", but don't tell Sable. Sab was pretty wild and untrained when she came into our lives. We found a trainer, who trained Sab and us. She was a real challenge. After about a year, she became calm and well behaved. She was amazing. My bride, Kay, would take Sab for long walks along a local park along the Shenandoah River. We joked that Sab was our latest piece of exercise equipment. We lost lots of weight during the next 4 years.
To make a long story longer, we ended up having to put her to sleep. As you can imagine, it was a very sad day. That was over 2 years ago. We still miss her every day and wish we could have her back. Yet out of that pain, Kay, my bride was inspired to paint her picture. Kay had been an part time artist for many years, while I worked full time. Sab would wait up for me in the evening and we would play and go for long walks on the week ends. Sab had many pack and territorial traits similar to wolves. She looked much like a wolf. Little to my knowledge, soon after saying goodbye to Sab, I would to be laid off and for the next 2 1/2 years, Kay and I have taken the riskier path in life. Based on her relationship with Sable, Kay painted her picture and was drawn into painting wolves, as a way of keeping a connection with her. Now is teaching 3 day wolf pastel workshops out of our home, that we converted into an art gallery / studio. She has wanted to teach art for years, but it seemed I would continue to work full time for an undetermined number of years with no end in sight. With my lay off situation, she is now teaching every month and I'm her sales and marketing guy. Something that I have always wanted to do.
This journey has brought us to a "sense of well being". We have learned to play the game of courage. This was born out of a sense of desperation and has led us to success beyond your wildest dreams. We still struggle with our bills and debt, but we are experiencing a freedom that has brought us much joy and fulfillment.
I shared your video with Kay and she was also blown away. You have touched our hearts and changed our lives. We are grateful. Kay has a web site at www.kaywitt.com, if you get a chance to check out her work. No pressure, just peace and grace to you.
With Our Deepest Sense of Gratitude,
    Steve and Kay Witt
    Strasburg, VA
