Man, this is so easy to do and it really works the first time I tried it against a resisting opponent. But now my 75 year old mother won't talk to me anymore. But hey, it works!👍
I guess im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid lost the account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me.

Galvao english improve so much 💪💪💪
It's phenomenal!
R R doing my best every single day! Thank you ✊🏽🙏🏽
I think he said he's a purple in English but he's def a brown
@@juntjoonunya9216 Trying to get that black belt as well haha!
@@Galvaocastthat was a good use of the air quotes too. LOL
for me, as a former wrestler, this is the perfect video that explained some of my mistakes. Thank you! Greetings from Prague, Czech Republic
I love you country, Michal. People from Czech Republic are very polite
Prague is an awesome city.
I've come from Judo, so I have always tried to do my single/double legs takedowns without getting on my knees, it just makes sense to me, seing a world class competitor like Galvao thinking the same it's great. Gold content.
Thanks Sr. D 👍🏽
It's also better for your hips too!
knee/shins touching the ground should only be used as a secondary/backup technique when you cannot go any higher, since you are almost always better off on your feet.
that instruction tackled the problems I faced when attempting single leg entry. Thank you, professor!
My pleasure!
1:12 shoulder push single leg
6:50 honey hole
8:15 side smash, knee slice, toreando, half guard
9:40 kimura trap
U legend
lol, I thought it was "honey hold"
@@gcorc that’s hilarious
Similar to the Ankle Pick the first goal is to push his weight of the leg that you are going to grab.
King
Thanks professor Galvao & Branard!!
Bernardo "Huge Honor for Me" Faria! Lol
lmao
LOL
Loooool😇😂😂
:D :D hahahaha
might be the first time it was ever used like that, but it works somehow lol
This is my go-to takedown. It works on everyone 😁
One of the simplest and most efficient single leg takedown I have seen. Very well explained as well. Thank you!
It’s a “Huge Honor” for Galvao! Osu !
So much excellent content on this channel. God job, Bernardo.
Andre's English is very good
Andre saying he likes simple stuff while Bernardo is like "well Im something of a SIMPLE STUFF fan myself..." :D
Just love the pressure passing they can pull off
Bloody great video guys. Great English Andre! I would love to train with both of you one day.
Awesome single leg instructional.. is this a teaser for a full length take down instructional from Prof Galvao on BJJ Fanatics? I sure hope so, because I'm sold.
Love the little details. 👍
I just learnt this in my first class. Super fun
This is a great video. I hope to see more of Galvao. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this ! I get guillotined sometimes when I shoot singles.
Cody Morrissey this is just a little tip. There are more details if you watch the entire instructional.
Andrea pushes Bernard.
Bernard goes into another dimension.
Bernard pushes Andrea: totally unphased
Both of them would fold me though lol
Your videos are so helpful. Thank you for sharing
Andre is an amazing teacher
Sweet Baby Jesus!! This is amazing!
Thank You Both!!
Realllly good details - some game changers for me, actually! I've been trying to "wrestle" more by emulating top wrestlers and I found the leg switch he calls out, where you lift their leg high on the outside of the body, to getting me in more trouble than my "older" way where I'd pinch the leg and run the pipe.
Brilliant. I love the modifications for BJJ. Thank you.
Great move. I’m always finding myself making the mistake with my head to low and heading to guillotine city!
I find this "no gi" Jiu Jitsu stuff fascinating. I have been a Kung Fu/Pencak-Silat guy all my life but confess to having no decent ground game. This stuff looks very interesting indeed!
Ruiseart Alcorn I started out as pure striker also. my first time stepping on a mat with grapplers and getting handeled you quickly realize you need to know both worlds to fully defend yourself. It was a fun and humbling experience.
@@hussydahustla Many thanks for the advice. Most appreciated :)
Best content of BJJ on UA-cam
Very good video . I hope you ll do a lot more videos on takedowns and throws for bjj
I just made an entire instructional only about single leg attacks. You will love it!!! 👍🏽
@@Galvaocast It is not there yet. I want to buy it now :)
littlebighumancom it’s coming up very very soon 👍🏽
I love the “honey hole” sweep @07:00 mark 👍🏽
Muito obrigado Professor Galvao ! seu conselho sao preciosos !
Andre is the man
Lovely technique! Thanks a lot for sharing!
gold.
Thanks much brothers.
Obrigado professors
Andre no neck galvao is a beast
Thank you!
The comment about how his biceps is crushing your thigh is CRUCIAL in understanding the entire thing. Just watching the video, without this comment, we would not understand that we need to put pressure of a bicep on the thigh to disable the leg. Super-important comment about bicep on the thigh.
As always, great video. Thanks
This is gold
Gran master at work.
Amazing!
So good.
quite impressive to see the adaptation gaval made from wrestling
dois monstros.oss
Great video!
I open a Bernardo video...I click like. Then I watch.
I think it's fair to say that galvao is the best (originally trained in jiujitsu) wrestler in the game.
Como brasileiro, acho que temos que honrar nossa lingua natal. Acho melhor fazer os videos em portugues e colocar legenda pros americanos. Mas ai vai de cada um. Fora isso, aula muito boa!
When catching a leg: With out hesitation raise it up into the midday sun whilst pushing opponent rearward.
Nice job guys👍
Hmm... Yeah they always teach it with head up and outside shoulder pushes but it's counterintuitive as the inside shoulder has more mechanical position to "run the pipe" but looks like he does that but starts with the outside shoulder and at most rolls into the inside shoulder by the time opponent falls. But obviously he avoids the before mentioned risks. I'll have to change my old habit darn
juntjoo nunya you can analyze it watching my super fight matches on ADCC. Take a look on how I “run the pipe” but also, pay attention on how I hold their legs...they can’t sprawl it...crazy good tho 😅👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Very nice !!!
Awsome.
Thank you sir
Nice!!
Mad hespect
“I start doing this LATELY” *mentions a time 7 years ago*
I predict a lot of stand up pushing in competitive bjj soon.
Much better than the traditional wrestling way to run the pipe. Can't wait to drill this tomorrow!
I wanna learn the honey comb better🙏
I do the calf crush from that single leg takedown.
Awesome
So what’s the best way to defend/counter the honey hole from coming to this?
Rapaz, boa demais, só não entendi o porque de não fazer o joelho no chão.
Dunno if this will get a reply, but how does this work against taller opponents? If I am shorter, my stiff arm might not quite reach and get them off balance as I aim up to hit their shoulders (I'm 5'6 for reference).
Kinda what frankie edgar does in mma. Only he sets it up with his jab and pushes with his lead hand. Doesn't put the leg between his legs either.
I'm going for my blue belt test in a month. I'm nervous I won't know the moves when called out. I'm 45. I'm struggling with the escapes I need to know
I don’t understand the posture piece because when u place ur bicep over his leg ur neck looks exposed. If someone could help me I’d love to Learn
Can you do this if the opponent has their left leg is their lead leg?
great
At what point do you put head to chest? Looks like it’s not needed once running pipe with bicep on thigh.
You sound like that one character from Ren and Stimpy
Now I realyze how tall Bernardo is.
7:08
TAKE DOWN AT 8:27
he is still rly good tho
7:01 what do you do if they go for the honey hole? let go of the leg?
Commenting for UA-cam Algorithm
Andres videos are avg 25min long, you could see he wanted more time😂
Counter move Shaolin stop single leg takedown
How do we defend slaps? 😜
🤙🏼
Zhiu Zhicu for Joe Hogan,, all the way.
pq nao coloca legenda em portugues?
I think I would just double off from that run the pipe
Kermit the frog got hardcore 🐸 🥋
it seems like everyone teaches it differently
Definitely a lot of variations of the single leg take down... I agree that it's taught a lot of different ways, some that are great and some that are not great for jiu-jitsu.
Hmm for running the pipe, if you’re keeping your head up and high wouldn’t it be fine??? You see guys getting take down with head on outside in mma all the time.
I smoke the pipe
Be prepared blue belts. Be very prepared. White belt power!!! 🤣
que lingua este gajo esta falando?
Os caras brasileiros e falando inglês. Foda-se o.brasileiro que nO fala inglês. Nem uma legenda coloca.
Didn't help him when he got KOed by Tyron Woodley.... the "westrel".
So? Just because you lose a fight doesn't mean your techniques all of a sudden don't work
@@joebotz1243 I'm sensing much saltiness in that one.
@@joebotz1243 It means it doesn't work against good wrestlers.
Galvoa fought only few matches in MMA, and only won when pitched against bjj practitioners. Every time he fought against wrestlers he got destroyed because he couldn't take them down. Not the most reliable guy to take takedown notes from.
@@kallepikku4991 Galvao's last MMA fight was 2010, he is talking about focusing on these takedowns beginning in 2013. I think his recent BJJ record and takedown success is more relevant.
@@jamesbarthelemy5926 why do you sense saltiness?
This is pure gold, many wrestling coaches are not aware of counters such as kimura trap, guillotines etc. just like Prof. Andre said.
Krytycznie Poważny that’s why I made this instructional for you. So you learn great takedowns with the bjj mindset...it’s different when you learn wrestling, coaches most of the time teaches it with the wrestling mindset! #GameChange
Holy shit, did Andre Galvao just take the time to answer us small timers here? Now that’s class.
Thank you for taking the time to pass this onto us, sir! Awesome!
Both are funnily enough apart of wrestling still but considered last resort techniques
So you must have never seen Dave and Mark Schutlz wrestle. This is basic 101 wrestling .
Simple yet so technically sound. Ive always felt awkward going for the single leg, but I can already see myself applying this in a practical al manner. Thank you for this, Professor. Osu!
Absolutely brilliant in its simplicity. His mastery of this technique is demonstrated in the transitory details: settling his weight to the rear foot; “punching” the hand out and connecting with a frame to the shoulder; using that forward momentum with the stiff arm to seep the leg and pressure with the chest and bicep; always careful for his head placement throughout the takedown. Mastery is in the details.
