The double leg takedown is one of the most effective ways to take another human being to the ground. In this video, we show you how to execute a basic version of the double leg that is applicable to both grappling and self-defence scenarios. Please take care training the double leg, especially if your training partner does not have much experience being taken down. Take it slow at first and increase only when comfortable.

Such a good breakdown!
Much appreciated. This was literally the best video on basic double leg takedown I've found on UA-cam.

How do I stop them from getting an arm around my neck?
🔥🔥🔥
amazing clear video thank you!!
Question..what are you doing with your hands/arms on their legs? Lifting their legs? Pulling them towards you? Trying to get their legs together?
Also, does it matter which leg you lead with in relation to which leg they have forward? Or can you always shoot with your right leg forward regardless of their stance?
Thank you!

how to get over the fear of eating a knee to the face while going for the takedown?
Set up with strikes
Shoot from close distance
Hands up until contact
Don't put your knee on the ground, it's not necessary at all in MMA because on the higher stance
You will eventually eat some knee, but to your chest
Mouthgayrd
If you’re setting up the takedown and going fast enough it should be hard to catch you with a knee on the way in
That's a very rational fear.
get used to eating a knee to the face
This looks very risky against a well timed knee. But I guess if you have to...
set it up
