Great info! Quick question. Did your speed sensor work properly the way you installed it? I have heard of people having issues with the sensor not making contact. I'm asking because I got a great deal on an 05 RSX transmission but I need to add the speed sensor to be able to use it in my ES1 Civic and I would hate to tear the trans apart, buy the sensor and ring, pay a machinist to drill that hole out, and then find out that the sensor doesn't work right after all that work and expense. Thanks!
The easier step without opening the z3 case, can I just change out the shift mechanism and use the vss converter, so dont have to drill for the 02 vss and opening the z3 case?
This will be a really dumb question, 8th gen civic non si. RSX trans will fit what do i need to change to make it work with 8th gen civic. Also it is a automatic trans
I’m wondering if a X2M5 transmission and PNN3 which are both 6 speed would still require these modifications? I’m swapping the X2M5 in my RSX with a PNN3 from a 07 civic SI coupe. Any input would be extremely appreciated.
I had a question I have a K24 with z3 trans with stock RSX Type-S shifter and cables but it seems like the cables don't want to shift into 3,4,5 gears ...is there something else I need? Besides the speed sensor vss converter?🤔
The shifting mechanism is different between the Type-s and the Si(K20z3). You will need to swap the full shift mech that he is showing in this video from a Type-s on to your Z3 trans. Once you do that you will be able to shift all gears, alternatively you can just buy Z3 swap shifting mech, Hybrid has one.
Im Confused Af Now I Saw Aki Use The K Tuned VSS Speed Converter for Kobe And It Worked Just Fine !! But The Way Oem Worx Did His trans Is more tempting because I guess of speed acurracy
@@sentree9857 I just ordered the cables and z3 swap no cut shifter when then launched their Black Friday sale. The actual shifting mechanism that sits in the trans (gear selector) I'm guessing it's called isn't sold by Hybrid.
I know this is an older video now but wouldn’t I be able to just swap the z3 gears and diff in my a2 case? it’s an 06 so no speed ring on the diff. I’ve heard I may need to change the case bearings to fit the 4.76 final drive vs the 4.38 of the Rsx just wondering if anyone has done it this way as opposed to using the z3 case?
@@jackyyeung7903 I ended up using the z3 case and just tapping the holes for the Rsx shift selector, and used the z3 6speed shifter mech. Had a typo in my previous comment actually had a a3 5speed and swapped in the z3 and it works flawlessly working on a k24a1 with z3 head now to get full potential out of this base Rsx
@@paulsuarez6105 The 05-06 RSX transmissions have a high frequency speed sensor, so it won't work in an 02-04 or most swap applications without modifications.
Are you still going to put the items in the description

So if i just but the rsx type s shifter arm, i can just pull off the parts from the Z3 and it will work?
I know this is 2 years old but why not use a speed sensor adapter? I have a k swap with the adapter and it's worked fine
Is it the all in one vss converter ??
What did you use my vtec and speedo don’t work still I need HELP! Please
Love the video

You’ll also have a speed sensor delay witch will play a part when the engine is performing.

Hey bro what did you do with the z3 speed sensor, did you just leave it like that or plugged it to the harness
I'm new to this but is there a difference between the Pnn4 and the Pnn3?

Also have K24a2 with EURO R (cl7) transmission w/LSD.
I was going to just use k20z3 cables and vss?

This is for the 02-04 rsx? Or i have to do the same for my 05 rsx type s if i want to use z3 trans?
The 05 RSX comes with a high frequency VSS, so you shouldn't need to mess with the speed sensor. Other than that it's the same.
With an 05-06 do you just change selector and put it back in?

@@paulsuarez6105 yes thats all what i did with 05 type S
What shift selector did you put your 6 speed mechanism on ?
So I can't just run a 6 speed with out doing this to it??
easier for me to open casing and add lsd to rsx transmission
Link for the items bro?
Do you have an email? I have a few questions regarding this swap and I don't have IG.
Will I still be able to go into reverse without the reverse lock out mechanism? Cause I remember when I unplugged it, I couldn't go into reverse.
You’ll still have reverse.
You suck if I don’t get a hat for this comment! 😂😂😂
I got you one bro email me your address
You make no sense
Thanks for watching!
