I just bought the UV68 which is very similar to this one.
Good stuff mate, I've fallen into the hobby recently too, studying for the Standard/General licence at the moment. I reckon this UV-82 will be my 3rd handheld. All the best mate!
Curious what other radios you have?
@@BuyersEdgeActual Hey mate, so I started off with the Quansheng UV-K5 a couple months ago (couldn't recommend this one highly enough, Ham Radio DX has plenty of videos on the radio, best of all is the custom firmware opening up the frequency range significantly)
Then I got the new UV-5RH last week, just like a UV-5R but with a nice colour screen and USB-C charging.
Now I see some Single's Day deals on some of the Chinese shopping sites, and I reckon I'll cave and grab the UV-82 and a Quansheng TG-UV2 Plus (Supposedly a better receiving radio with its superheterodyne).
Also, today I think I made up my mind on what my first digital radio should be. As of now, it is the TYT MD-UV390 Plus (the model with GPS).
I've been incessantly researching all these radios for weeks, I think I've settled on a good bunch for now...anyway hope at least one of those radios interests you, on ya mate!
