- In the wake of the amazing Xbox Games Showcase 2024 that the internet is calling one of the best in years, I realize that Xbox may have revealed too much for some to keep up with. So today I'm going to take my time going through all the Xbox News today and over the last week that we may have missed. From the Avowed Deep Dive to new news about Gears of War, here's what was missed.

34:40 the reason they built it from the ground up is to use those animations for the next round of games. It makes sense to build things from the ground up when hitting a new gen.

I'm mostly PS and Nintendo, but I did own an Xbox 360 thanks to the Mistwalker deal. I ended up playing Gears 1 and 2 ahead of the Gears 3 release.
I ended up finding a group for Gears 2 MP to max out our ranking and get all the achievements to get the Golden Gun skins for the third game. I had so much fun. I'm looking forward to playing E-Day and Gears Tactics.
I’ve wondered since the original Gears, are the drones former humans changed by emultion or something like that, and how is their queen a human? I’m guessing it’s been explained, but I’m sure I just missed it.

Did you not play Gears? I’m not even that big of a fan but the Pendulum Wars is a pretty big story beat.

I don't see people's issues with Avowed. It looks like the Outer Worlds but a fantasy game.
i think its the fact it looks like a AA game, but its from a AAA studio that is published by the literal second richest company in the word. people just expect more.
@isturbo1984 Microsoft is the richest company in the world. Xbox game studios != Microsoft, however, those are essentially separate entities.
@@isturbo1984 It doesn't look double A. It just doesn't look like they spent 5 years on it to make it look ridiculously good graphically. Also companies spending so much time making games is one of the biggest problems. How many times do we have to hear about a game that sold millions of copies and was still a failure financially before people realize that they need to spend less time making them? Avowed could look way better if they spent more time on it but then it would likely be a failure financially.

Dom and marqis didn't meet Cole til gears 1 so we likely won't see Cole train at all
That actress elissa bibaud you pulled up looks more like Joanna Dark from the first game in her real life pictures. She looks different in the new game. Her hair was darker in the first game without highlights I wish they would have went with that look. I dont think anyone liked perfect dark zero I don't know why they brought back the blonde high lights from that game

The original trailer for Avowed is the albatross around the games neck. Unfortunately it set expectations for something that doesn't exist but something everyone wants.
imagine putting out a trailer that actually looks like the game its supposed to be a trailer of.

Honesly was playing on ps5 lately and thinking about ps5 PRO and ditching xbox completely. Especially on the rumours of all games coming to ps5. Was not really excited about xbox and mine SX was turned on less and less frequently. I even unsubbed from GP.
However this showcase was such a comeback. I subbed for 2 years GP right away and my calendar is now full of xbox releases. I also glad they still push consoles and focusing on GP despite all of the rumours
That’s why you shouldn’t pay attention to rumours until official announcements are made. Especially when it’s Xbox, negative Xbox news generates more clicks than positive Xbox news.
Game Pass has had good, consistent releases for the past 2 years. *ESPECIALLY* when compared to what PlayStation offers on their service.
I can't fathom anyone choosing PS5 over Xbox, unless you just desperately wanted to play Ragnarok or Horizon or whatever. Generally, their third party timed exclusives haven't performed that well commercially, and most of had middling to average reviews, so I don't think they're even worth mentioning here.
I've tallied it up, and over the past year, I've gotten to play and try out about $900 worth of games through Game Pass. Many of them great. About to start Octopath Traveler 1 *and* 2 because they're both in Game Pass.
I really don't understand why gamers allow social media narratives to affect their enjoyment of their hobby. You realize you were being brainwashed, I hope.
@@jessep5280Why? Phil Recognizes why: we've already built up our libraries last gen. I have over 200 Platinums between PS3, 4, 5, and Vita.
On Xbox I got maybe 10 games I have 100% achievements on via Xbox 360. The only Xbox exclusives I play historically are Gears of War, Fable, Crackdown, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Spectral Force 3, N3 Ninety-Nine Nights, and MagnaCarta 2.
Only 3 of those are series still getting new entries. Magna Carta is a series I started on PS2 and Xbox exclusively got the sequel somehow, and now HyungTae Kim's next console game is exclusively on PS5.

If Sony wants my money again they'll stop nickel and diming me for basic bullshit and provide a service worth owning. They need to remake Fallout 1 and 2. Think they would do well on console.
Just confirmed today in an interview with Tod Howard that they are in fact not working on or have any plans to re-release Fallout 1 or 2 in any way.
@@isturbo1984 I am aware. Does not change my statement. Them saying they won't does not change the fact that there are those of us who want it to be done. Most nowadays who never played them will not go back and play the originals on PC. Making them for console nowadays, with the updated graphics/game play, I believe many people would do so.
@@laryn9953 okay. so quantify that for me. you are aware they are choosing to priorities other projects, specifically the next fallout and TES6. and you still think the "need" to throw in some cozy update to these old games specifically for consoles? sounds like a personal wish than a smart move. the original Fallout and its sequel are incredibly niche.
@isturbo1984 If you look at my other comments in the thread you would see that I said a lot of people would like to play the older games if updated and that it is my opinion (thus clarifying what I was saying already). You would have known that if you had not laser focused on one comment. Also, perhaps look up words you don't know - like prioritize.

The only way Xbox could reveal “too much” is by announcing the new games on competing platforms. But they’re doing that slowly to mitigate fan outrage. Like boiling a frog.
Well when you make money off of new games why not make money off of old games as well?

Nothing was said about the future of halo in the showcase, the amount of damage to halo done by 343 management is so sad. I hope coalition has learnt to make a great gears game.

We had gameplay for Indy, SoD3, Fable and more for Doom than one would expect from announcment trailer.

they showed gameplay too. the fact that a lot of people, including devs like Gaffe, didn't realize that, shows how high the graphical fidelity of those games are and how smooth the transition between cinematic and gameplay was.

funny, 16 games are coming out this year, and 13 of them had concrete dates. The only things without dates for this year were Dragon Age, which isn't even Xbox, the Starfield expansion, and the Indiana Jones game.

1. who cares if there are dates. they come when they come. do you want games at a certain time regardless if they are broken or not, or do you want quality?
2. 16 games/expansions were announced for 2024, and 13 of them have dates. the only ones that don't are Dragon Age, which isn't a Xbox made game, the Starfield expansion, and Indiana Jones. We know the rest. It's your fault if you didn't actually pay attention.
